I guess they were banking on getting the renewal done.
Or maybe Zhangs didn't allow extensions in the summer?
I see this post got lot of support, but I still have a different point of view of things?Imagine being Skriniar, being shopped around by the new management, being benched by the new coach, right after sacking your agent to extend your stay here, rejecting every possible move during this time, earning the captaincy and then being called from traitor to ungrateful, all because said management never bothered to enter contract talks with him on time and instead tried to cash in on him yet again....
Yeap, entirely his fault if he leaves...
I see this post got lot of support, but I still have a different point of view of things?
But in real world good players get offers and clubs will talk to the players agent and to the player and then they decide what is best for everyone. Just another day in the office and no disrespect done. These boys are professionals. Sure some times club or coach wants to change players or system and players are sold and sometimes players want a new challenge or more game time…
Last summer everyone said that our managment only try to get easy way out and sell our top players (Skriniar) instead of try to sell ”fringe” players… But now when our managment try to do this (Casadei and maybe Dumfries) people are still shitting on them.
Currently Skriniar is our captain and he has good offer at the table from Inter. I see that as a respect towards to a player. Sure Inter have financial difficulties and that limit our options with dealing with new transfers and renewing current contracts. We are not at position we can increase every summer every players contracts two years early and increase our wage budget.
We have to balance our money losing budget and still try to compete. It’s not that easy as many here make it seem. Marotta, Ausilio, Antonello and Zanetti have in my opinion done good job recent years and we have good core players with mix of maturity and youth. We also have proof of that as a results from last seasons 19/20 2nd and runners up at Europa league, 20/21 scudetto, 21/22 2nd and coppa italia and supercoppa wins and current season is still open and we are still at CL.
I really don’t get your assumption that Skriniar was treated badly when Conte benched him? And what this is to do with our managment or this current situation with a new coach?
But anyway let’s see what Skriniar said about that incident?
“It was difficult to go from a four-man defence to three, as I’d never done that before and it was a struggle.
“Conte sat me down and explained the movements to me, using videos as well. He really does hammer his players constantly, drilling this winning mentality into them. We end up absorbing it even if trying to resist!”
I see no harm or disrespect here and I remember he was really struggling at the beginning, but improved thanks to Conte.
Who is calling him a traitor or ungrateful? Can you post a link where our managment said this?
I don’t see him leaving anybodys fault, but invidual players choise. I have utmost respect towards Skriniar and he is good player and professional and a great leader/fighter.
Milan lost Donnarumma and Hakan at the same window for free then Kessie and Romagnoli and they won the scudetto and people are giving gredit to their managment. Many clubs lose top players for free every summer as players get better wages as a bosman. It’s not optimal but it’s a reality we are living in. Currently there are few rich clubs who can make crazy offers to the players and I understand money is appealing.
Which results are saying the opposite? Again with the recent years, mixing and matching different seasons...I just don’t get this constant shitting on towards this managment when the results say the opposite? Don’t you guys see any good of this team and what our managment has done recent years?
I don’t think it’s so simple as PSG is offering just for sign-on bonus of €12 million.Inter management could just simply give the salary that Skriniar want and after that if they really think Skriniar are not good enough for Inter they could just sell him end of season.... I wonder what stopping them to do this..
Juventus mogged our offer so if we offered more for Bremer, they probably would've offered more and sign him anyways. When psg made their first offer, had Bremer already been sold? If not, that's the fuck up. Bremer was a ready made replacement at a good price. Now we are fucked.
Money do wonders for peoples opinions and their loyalty, even player like Skriniar. He will get reported €12 sign-on bonusAll Skriniar wanted was to stay at Inter. All his actions attest to that.
Sorry I miss read that! But yeah I don’t anything wrong for going after money. You talk about Point A and say people are outraged about Point B.
I think it’s normal that players contract are renewd at their last season. The offer is too little too late.
Not 7 months ago we told this guy to get out. For a 5th time in 3 years...
From the summer of 2019 to the summer of 2020, which is 2.5 transfer windows, we set records at spending.
We pulled the plug in thr autumn of 2020 and the players we got started leaving in the summer of 2021. So you're not using correct reasoning here.
No one said otherwise. What was said was that Skriniar was a starting player at Inter, not someone viewed as indispensable, when we got this management to run the show and on top of that he was also benched.
Anything extrapolated from that is all on your reading of it.
Where did I say the management said anything like that?
People are calling him a traitor, a mercenary, ungrateful and various other things. Go to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and even here. You'll find people pinning this potential exit on him entirely.
There we go.
Milan is not an example to follow but more like a case study of how to stumble into success by accident.
No other team found success this way in top European football.
Which results are saying the opposite? Again with the recent years, mixing and matching different seasons...
The backing on the team speaks for itself, whether or not the players can still achieve things is due to themselves and the coaching team.
This is just a rumour, nothing is certain about this, BUT.. if i were PSG its understandable for PSG to offer this kind of money promised to Skriniar so he wouldnt want to move to other team in January, because if he already tell Inter he wont renew Inter is surely will try to sell him again and PSG are trying to make him only want to move to PSG..Money do wonders for peoples opinions and their loyalty, even player like Skriniar. He will get reported €12 sign-on bonus![]()
Yes its normal.. for a fringe player like Dambrossio, Gagliardini etcI think it’s normal that players contract are renewd at their last season.
Lol.. its Tottenham.. i'm sure Bastoni will have a second thought if the one offer him are team like Chelsea, City, PSG... and i'm quite sure he will right away accepted if its team like Real MadridLoL! If Skrinar wants to stay at Inter, he just has to pen the new deal. It's true that the management tried hard to sell him, but he is not the only one. Bastoni also decided to stay (for now), rejecting big deal from Tottenham. Brozovic had decent offers before to renew as well. Skriniar always spoke for himself as an Interista, but his actions do not match that. I don't blame him. He has chosen the big money, which is understandable, but he goes directly to Former players for me.
Tottenham are in the most hyped, watched and let's say competative championship in the world. Proving himself there, he could go in the best teams easily. For me, this is a better destination than the circus of P$G.Lol.. its Tottenham.. i'm sure Bastoni will have a second thought if the one offer him are team like Chelsea, City, PSG... and i'm quite sure he will right away accepted if its team like Real Madrid.
Bastoni is an self-professed Interista. Very few clubs in the world could change his mind into leaving the club he supports. With respect to Spurs, they ain’t one.LoL! My impression is that Skrinar always claimed to be an Interista. In reality he is not. That is my point. The management has a huge blame for this situation, but if he IS an Interista, everting would have already been resolved happily.Bastoni is an self-professed Interista. Skriniar doesn’t have such qualms. He’s a true professional and our captain but at the end of the day, money talks and PSG is offering fuck tons of it, chances to win lots of trophies and to play with arguably the best player ever. Kinda hard to resist tbh
because zhang is bankrupt anyway, he doesn't have any money left to operate his business on italyInter management could just simply give the salary that Skriniar want and after that if they really think Skriniar are not good enough for Inter they could just sell him end of season.... I wonder what stopping them to do this..
Tottenham is more circus man, no chance of getting any silverware.Tottenham are in the most hyped, watched and let's say competative championship in the world. Proving himself there, he could go in the best teams easily. For me, this is a better destination than the circus of P$G.
PSG and ambitious visionTottenham is more circus man, no chance of getting any silverware.
imo the best teams in england are Man city and Newcastle, the rest are circus, of course PSG is upper over totthenham, huge salary, dream city of paris, first contender for any silverware every season, loads of world class players, ambitious vision from the club, it's fool for skriniar to reject PSG.
Kane made his name there, and he could have left if he hasn't renewed his contract if I'm not wrong. Berbatov, Modric and Bale were in Tottenham and then moved to bigger clubs. Neymar left Barca for big money, and what he has won? Meaningless French titles, but he has regressed as football player a lot. Mbappe also doesn't progressed enough, because of the joke of the league with no competition. Tottenham is a stepstone, PSG is only money destination.Going to Tottenham to do what? Fighting for 4th place? Harry Kane, a Spurs fan can't wait to leave. What's the point to leave a top club in your prime to go to Tottenham? Better wait for a real chance at top level.
Just look at the players they're signing. Players from Atalanta, Everton, Sevilla, Lyon, Ajax, EPL midtable teams and top clubs deadwood. And that's while they're having a top coach in Conte. The only top player they signed is Perisic at 34.
No top club starter leaves his team to go to freaking Tottenham. A club without ambition to win silverware. They're the British version of Lazio.
