I had to take some time off from our summer mercato 2023. After the Lukaku fiasco, selling Onana, getting fucking Cuadrado, the Samardzic saga and buying Arnautovic I couldn’t see things in perspective anymore.

I do think we made a couple of very good moves this season. To begin with: cutting our wages and letting go of A LOT of deadwood. Getting Frattesi is really good business too imo. As was the free signing of Thuram (although he is a bit on high wages). Sommer will do good enough as a Onana replacement I think. Although I’m still not very enthousiastic about this. It’s a pity Vicario didn’t want to wait for us. Cuadrado will be a upgrade on Dumfries. That’s simply sad, but it is what it is. Carlos is going to be great too imo. Arnautovic will be a good option from the bench. So far an 6/10 mercato imo.

But signing Pavard would would make it an easy 7/7.5. That would be a real coup. The ideal player for our system. Pavard - Acerbi - Bastoni is class. The only thing what bothers me is our striker department. I understand it has to do with finances but Lautaro, Thuram, Arnautovic and Correa/Alexis doesn’t seem like a strikers force from a topclub.

I’m a lot more optimistic than a week ago. This summer made me nuts…

we've had a reaosnable mercato. It could have been better, it could have been a lot worse. The cut in wages and amortisation is significant, and honestly, I dont think the squad is that much worse functionally than last season. Some key mid term upgrades like Frattesi, PAvard is an upgrade over Darmian...

Indeed. It could have been better with Vicario and a better partner for Lautaro. But maybe that wasn’t realistic given the fact we must cut costs. Let’s hope the result is we don’t have to sell one of our starplayers next year and can make a step forward quality wise next summer.

I'll give you a view when the books for 22-23 are pbulished. But, tbgh, itll be so decided by the oaktree loan situation anyway who knows.

Still 2/10. If we somehow get Pavard and get rid of Correa(getting proper football player instead) this is goin to 7/10.

Selling Hakan to Saudi and getting Jorginho is what's happening. Someone mentioned it previously.

Nicolas Dominguez on a free would be a steal.

I can totally see us going for Taremi if he doesn't extend with Porto. Also Djalo will be an option provided we don't sign Pavard and he has a good season after his injury.
Yeah Dominguez would be a great coup.

Fiorentina lowered their demand for Amrabat to 25mln. He is not on the level of Hakan, but I'd take him instead of Jorginho's corpse.

Inter are not selling Hakan on the last week of the transfer season. It makes no sense whatsoever. Unless a SA club bids 50+ million euro or something.

The rumors have died about a week ago anyways.

I was referring to next summer, in the context of players with expiring contracts (Jorginho).

Ah, my bad.

Yeah, next summer makes much more sense. Actually hoping Hakan goes for a lot of money rather than being forced to sell one of Barella, Bastoni or Lautaro.

All the name above can be a game changer.

Bisseck, Aslani are also an OK sub.

The squad depth are so good this year.

Now only Salcedo & Agoume need to be loaned out/ sell.

Enough loans for Agoume. It's time for some French team to step up and buy/loan+obligation him for 6-7M... Salcedo, I read was close to some team, on loan.
