This should've happened last summer, but better late than never. It's still unclear how good we will be, I hope Sensi will feature heavily this season, we clearly need a player like him.

These words of Marotta just confirmed that we backed off from Scamacca, not because the price, but because of the player imo.
We could easily match Atalanta's bid, because the gap was quite small.

Don't have one.
I don't think he would have mentioned scammaca in the same mix with those two if he didn't do something that caused us to say fuck this.

We probably had a deal with him, atalanta entered the deal and offered slightly better conditions, and he accepted it, causing us to enter a potential bidding war, and we probably didn't appreciate it.

Unless you see the Italian version of it you shouldn't draw conclusions.

Most likely he was asked about those three targets in particular and made a response that suited Lukaku and Samardzic situation.

I don't get why Moratta should inform everyone about our transfer activity. It leaves us with no bargain power.

We should work in silence just like when we steal Hakimi.

he said what everyone already knows... Correa is already in talks with Torino and I am pretty sure most people knew we don't want Correa. Sanchez has been waiting for inter for a while. Pavard is also not a secret, so nothing that was said was a surprise.

I don't know why everyone is so fussed about the scamacca situation

We made an offer. The price increased. We didn't think he represented value for money at the increased price.

No big deal.

And let's be more specific, Zhang didn't think.

Not that it bothers anyone if we can land Pavard now with the money which got saved from that deal. Except maybe @ADRossi

So do you think our end days mercato will be about trying to get Pavard and offloading Correa for signing Sanchez, or do you think we'll have a (little) surprise (a signing we weren't excepting, even a shy one) ?

I am not at all certain that Sanchez is the one we are looking to sign.

Inzaghi has a clear idea about how he wants to play. I believe Lautaro and Thuram are his second striker types. I don’t think Thuram is showing any signs to Simone that he can be a target. Arnautovic is the one reference point we have and Inzaghi most likely wants another. If we get a decent amount from selling Correa (which of course sounds crazy), I expect us to try Taremi.

Taremi is the right type and doesn’t have a history with injuries, so I would very much like this deal.

Definitely will rate this mercato 7/10 at least even now without Pavard and Correa leaving. Let these two things happen and we got a 8,5-9,5/10 depending on the player coming in for Correa.

Our squad is almost perfectly shaped with enough quality, depth and youth-experience mix. Also the players we have fit the coaches system and playing style 100% percent, which is the most important tool building a squad. Cost wise we’re going to trim around 20% comparing to last season, and will yet again manage to stay competitive immediately, so I don’t really know what else we could’ve done better.

For me 7.5. Without the Onana-Sommer exchange i would rate it 9.5.

Its tough to say since a lot of it comes down to Thuram, Frattessi end up doing.

But we kept Bastoni, Barella, Cahla and Lautaro.

Sold a free player for 60m. His short term replacement was 6m. Not bad.... I never heard of the Ukrainian kid nor remember his name so not a huge lost.

Gags, D'ambrossio, Dalbert,Dzeko, Lukaku, Handa, Gosen are gone + their massive wages

What I didn't like
-Contract extension for De Vrij !!! WHY !!!!
- pretty much 0 youth players have been given a shot and all sent on loan
- 2 insanely random ass GKs we ended up with instead of having Handa as a backup

WIth our $$$$ constraints I think we did well only sold 1 starter. Hope we get another CB. Another striker would be nice but at this point no one good will come unless we spend crazy money which we won't.

I give it an 8.5 hope that next summer or even in the winter we snap up a striker or Goalie for the future. We need to have players who are long term. Sommer is def a short term

I mean if we get Pavard thats cool but doesn't really change how well we did with budget constraints. I would love if we magically sold Lazaro, Sensi and Correa but rather keep some of these guys instead of sending them out on loan.
