The total cost of Julian Alvarez to City is 27m

in the same universe we paid 31m to Lazio for Correa and we will pay 14m to Empoli for Asllani

I don't get what the fuck is Zanetti talking about !
I feel your point, errors have been made. I would have also preferred Tonali instead of Vidal. Correct figures (just for the record):

Inter payed €6M for the loan of Joaquín Correa + €23.6M as obligation to buy, so that`s a total of €29.6M. The deal was struck in late August 2021 and TBH it seemed like a panic buy after Thuram got injured. Joaquín Correa`s current market value is €20M.

Julián Álvarez was bought by Man City for €21.4M in January 2022 and his current market value is €32M.
Former Fiorentina and Roma striker Abel Balbo told Libero newspaper: “I was certain he’d make his mark at the World Cup. I don’t understand how the Italian clubs continue to be caught napping on the transfer market, as they could’ve signed him a year ago for €15m.”

While some may think it`s the lack of funds, it`s actually how efficiently certain funds have been spent.

lack of scouting pool, lack of analyzing, our directors seems to work with their anals, not with brain.

Both Julian Alvarez and Enzo Fernandez's price tag was around 20m when they joined City and Benfica. Inter paid 30m for Correa and around 19m for a loan return of an out of form injured Lukaku. So it's not about the lack of money. It's about lack of vision and shit management of money.

to be fair.... we need to win and took the safer bets. Neither paid off.

Lukaku is 100x better than Alvarez both in form. Lukaku was our best striker for 2 years we had an option to get him back relatively cheaply which was a gamble it just didn't pay off. Would Alvarez even get minutes here or would he be another Santanio or wtf the Uruguayan kid is named. I mean We could have sent the Uruguayan kid as part exchange with an option to buy him back instead of sending him to god knows where.

Now Enzo who was a lesser prospect.... were in our MF does he play? When do we give him minutes?

Are both these guys developing here?

Like it or not we aren't a place to develop talent because we have high expectations. We need to win or we go broke. Or broker than our current piss poor situation.

Transfer is not only about player fee, also agent fee, direction of the club and its current squad/state, our connections, link with transfers in the past, promised deals … many things.

I’m sure we have linked with them before, so do every other clubs. Like Alvarez, if he comes, Lautaro has to go, moreover between Man City and Inter, where would he choose? How much under table, agent fee Man City paid?

I tend to criticise management with players they brought in/moved out more than they missed.

I'm pretty certain Man City pays a lot of their players & staff under the table via corporations based in U.A.E., Singapore etc. There was a massive leak couple of seasons back about Guardiola earning more than his yearly salary via a consulting job he had in some shell company in the gulf. They pulled off something similar with Haaland.

That being said, of course we would've been able to sign Alvarez & Fernandez if we wanted. The directors chose to go with safer options considering the financial strain we're under. While it sucks in hindsight, one should keep in mind that not all prospects pan out.

Gosens doesn't count because his obligation kicks in.

Asllani is staying too I guess, I don't think there's an issue with the agreed transfer fee.

Bellanova will be redeemed imo. Don't think he came here for a trial.

Acerbi's redemption is rather pricey, hopefully we negotiate it down to like 2m. But he's fine to keep around for another year.

De Vrij staying depends on his mentality, he needs to switch on again and I worry it's not possible. At worse we should renew him at the same salary for 2 seasons max, that way he can prove next season if he deserves a raise.

Lukaku needs to get serious about football otherwise send him back and help us forget that his arrival ruined our season.

D'Ambrosio, honestly I'd leave it up to him. Give him 50% paycut and he stays imo. Wonderful person to be around the team.

Darmian staying or leaving is not really relevant I guess. He's useful but he should stay only if we get an upgrade on Dumfries imo, otherwise we stick with Bellanova.

Gagliardini should leave.

Dalbert is crazy that hasn't left yet.

Cordaz was supposed to retire last season, I guess we can extend him if we have to again.

Handanovic may want to retire or go to a smaller team to play some more. Would also leave it up to him, but staying should mean 50% paycut. Still don't trust Onana as main starter of course and don't think we'll be looking for a new #1 so freeing up funds here is important if we want to get a competitor for #1 or get some reliable #2 like Sepe or Sportiello, and use the funds elsewhere, assuming we can.

Dzeko renewing at 50% isn't an issue for me as long as he also gets 50% of game time.

Obviously Skriniar has to stay but I'm afraid Marotta with his actions has driven him away.

Actually world cup players are one of the best performance out there, domestic competition like Euro cup and Serie Ass produced more garbage players often. But it isn't the context after all

The expections dropped massively over the years that is why I would already be happy if we were able to secure Skriniar with a new contract. Losing him would be horrible.

Ahhh, Inter back in the day you were fucking all the bad bitches. Surrounded by pretty hoe's.
Now we are the Larry Holmes of football. Old, flabby and sick. Time to be give it up and fold the club.

Just gets worse every year.
