Our squad is not thin. With Zielinski and Taremi coming I keep one of Correa or Carboni as the 5th forward and one from Primavera can play as the 7th midfielder. No need for more players unless a good opportunity arises, like the deals we did for Pavard or Bisseck.
Keeping Correa is like keeping no 5th forward. Dude is injured 24/7 or not reliable and seems like an Alien in our system. Carboni needs playing time and can't develop adequatly as a 5th forward.

From mine point of view we need to decide this summer the position of Goalkeeper - Bento or Di Gregorio nothing else needs to be touched for next season. Maybe buy Emil Holm for a low price, for now he costs less than 10mn, in two years he will be more than 30mn.

Wasn't sure where to post, but happy that both Arnautovic/Sanchez have started contributing in recent months/games. When we didn't sign a striker in January, that was my hope. I never expected 10 goals from either, but just hopeful they can chip in with performances and goals/assists in remaining months.

So far, we're getting something from them these last few games, and I'd even say last couple of months.

In the last 5 matches (Roma, Salernitana, Atletico, Lecce, Atalanta), either Arnautovic or Sanchez have scored or assisted in each of those matches.

Sanchez has also been lowkey good since his last return from injury (Lecce game in December). He's had a number of 'hockey assists' - key passes that lead to the assist for the goal. Off the top of my head: SuperCoppa versus Lazio for Fratessi goal, SuperCoppa final for Lautaro's winning goal, Roma game for Bastoni's goal, and Lecce game for Lautaro's second goal as he gives a first-touch pass to Fratessi making the run.

He also looks stronger physically than he did in the beginning of the season. I think with some of our older players that don't get many minutes, it only helps when they start getting regular playing time - 90 minutes versus Lecce was good for him.

Arnautović is still to inconsistent, while Sanchez is our Joker off the bench that started delivering. We needed this.

I don't really expect a lot from Arnautović, but as long as he works hard, he'll score at least 3 more goals until the season ends. Hopefully in CL

Could we sign K Thuram for free by CWC?

Only positions I would have as a priority would be a CB and GK -Especially CB, Acerbi and De Vrij will continue to be a risk and with 71 games next season we would need cover.

He wouldn't be able to be registered for the competition. Further, his contract runs through June 30, 2025, which is after the CWC begins. No 2025 free transfers are competing in that event.

We can sign him, sure. We just can't play him.

Lucas Vasquez is a good one. Another interesting one to have a look at would be Josha Vagnoman from VfB Stuttgart. Very similar type to Dumfries (physical characteristics) with more promising looks in regard of techincal and tactical abilities.

So pending the Acerbi dilemma of whether he's a wrestler or the devil, this is how I see the summer going:

- Budget is zero for once and not negative.

- We sell Dumfries if we don't reach to an agreement. Price around 30m.

- We try to offload Correa and Arnautovic. Maybe at any cost since we'll be covered with the FIFA WCC influx later on. Let's say we find someone to pay 7-8m for Correa and we cut Marko loose or keep him as a token player if we don't want to do that. Don't see anyone offering anything north of 1m anyway.

- We let Sensi, Klaassen and Cuadrado go.

- We don't extend Audero loan or exercise whatever option if any.

- De Vrij, depending on his situation. He wants to go back home and be a starter, win a local trophy which he's missing. PSV, Ajax and Feyenoord can spend on the transfer market, but not sure on a 32 year old CB. He's more valuable to Feyenoord since they produced him. We can squeeze 10m I believe, if there's a bidding war between them.

- We keep Di Gennaro on, because why not?

- We make Sanchez an offer he'll probably reject only to return later and accept it. As 5th forward.

- We go for Gudmundsson for a 35m valuation. We give them Carboni and Asllani and call it even, if they don't want the loan+ concept. Buyback clause for both.

- We welcome Taremi and Zielinski.

- I don't see us getting Bento (15m?) or any other GK on a fee.
Meret on a free sounds very interesting but I doubt we pull it off. It's more likely we go for someone like Ospina, Patricio or Navas.

- We will need a RWB, maybe two if Buchanan isn't up to the task of relieving that guy for 20-30 minutes a night - since Darmian should slowly be dropped at RCB and LCB exclusively, at least in important games.
No idea who this name should be. We cannot afford Frimpong who would be the best possible transfer, so...? I'd take up Zanotti and give him the time in preseason to showcase his abilities, but we still need a starter. Buchanan can be the last option that also allows an inverted LWB if Augusto is the LCB.
If Buchanan isn't ready and we loan him, I'd take Faraoni as the main RWB backup.

- If De Vrij goes, we'll get a CB. Since money is an issue, the option of Tosin Adarabioyo will surface but this is something that requires proactive effort.
Witsel is also leaving Atletico iirc, we could give him a one year deal and I think he'd do well as a middle CB in our setup.
Just hope we don't go for Rugani (love the wife though) or Coates.

- In the middle we'll have Barella, Hakan, Mkhitaryan, Zielinski and Frattesi. We use that Dumfries money to buy Colpani.

- Up front there'll be Lautaro, Thuram, Gudmundsson, Taremi and maybe our two current backups. Or one of them.

Not sure what happens with Acerbi. Either way, I don't think we'll tear the contract up and he'll stay no matter what. Especially if De Vrij is settled on leaving.

Just hope we don't see any starters leaving this time around. We keep draining starters and eventually we'll run out.

Dumfries is the only starter we can afford to lose here. The rest of the team can be improved, but we need to see minutes readjusted with quality rather than replacing guys and keeping a thin bench.

That sounds great and all but who will actually offer 30m for Dumfries knowing that his contract expires next season?

There's a lot of stupidity in the PL.

Ten Hag loves the guy, if on the market he'll ask for him. They'll offer 20-25 for sure. If then "dumber" (aka Chelsea) appears on the scene, we may get it to 30 but their FFP troubles may finally hit them.
I see Tottenham also getting involved in this transfer if they end up playing in CL.

It's not unlikely. He also gets to score for the Dutch team, so the Euro may inflate his price tag a bit.

Even so, 20-25m should be decent enough money and it still wouldn't deviate much from this. Unless Colpani will end up costing 50m of course. I see him in the 35m valuation thereabouts. But Monza won't do us any favors with loan deals, that's why we need the decent sized sale and whatever extra we can get from Correa.

Why we shall buy Colpani at first place?

Because he's the kind of player we need to phase out Mkhitaryan next season.

Zielinski I see more of a Hakan reliever who can also play next to him.

6 strong midfielders > 5 strong midfielders anyway.

Why would we not go for Colpani? We wanted Samardzic this summer anyway for the same reason.

What I've seen of him, he plays more advanced on the right side. He has nice dribbling, good cross, but I don't think he is strong at defending or at reading the flow of the game and off ball movement, where Mkhitaryan excels.
Koopmeiners evolved in such a player, but he will be more expensive. Maybe we can bring back in serie A SMS as it seems he is unsettled in Saudi Arabia. Rovella has shown some traits that he can play decent as CM, but he is a risk.

For back up goalies

Would love Ospina :) his wife is dope too . He makes insane money in the Saudi league he isn’t going to come for a pay cut to be on the bench

Navas love him as well but he isn’t coming he wants to start

Also romas gk coming here to be on the bench doesn’t make sense either.

All these guys would only come if it’s compete for a starting spot. All are Sommers age and prob want a last pay day.

I prefer we bring Stank in if he can’t start next season in serie a club. Have him play copa italia and compete for a starting spot
