even if he scores 7 goals a game till the end of the season I hope management isnt stupid enough to give him an extension

I like that despite criticism and the club clearly looking to offload him, he did not choose to just warm the bench for the rest of the season and get his paycheck anyway but actually had enough pride and proper mentality to step up and make himself useful

Pretty obvious he should be in front of the Iranian garbage man in the pecking order.

One observation just as we hit the business end of the season - with a view to the espo v Arna debate from earlier - espositos goals have basically dried up and he's also playing more than Arna

On a season view he's still ahead obviously, and I'm still no Arna fan, but just worth reflecting on.

Two key goals two games in a row

That goal in the end of the first half was CLUTCH. Just scored at the right time to make Monza shake in their boots.

I think his goal at the end of the first half was crucial.
It took the pressure off the team to turn things around.
If we were 0-2 down at half-time it would put on a real burden on the team.

Ive heaped shit on this guy for two years straight, so it’d be unfair to not mention that he’s basically doing what Taremi should be doing for us.

Not the best player on the pitch by any means, but 3 MASSIVE goals between Fiorentina, Lazio, and Monza. Grande Marko.

🇦🇹🎙️ Marko Arnautović following #Inter 3-2 Monza:

"This win means a lot because we were down 0-2 after 25 minutes. We did our job and the fans did theirs. We're happy, but it's not over yet. The season is very long."

"The Treble? I was more of a fan when #Inter won the Treble in 2010. I was there, yes, but I don't feel like it's truly mine because I only played 2-3 games. Now I'm really here, we want to win everything."

"Çalhanoğlu? I've never found a friend like him in 20 years of playing football, he's like a brother to me. He's fundamental to our group. If he's doing well, then the whole team does well." @SkySport

"I'm happy to be able to help the team. I come on the pitch for that reason, not for myself. I try to help the team even when I don't play, everyone deserves titles and victories." @DAZN_IT

"Mentally I always feel good, even if it may not seem that way on the outside. Physically, I had some problems because I wasn't playing as often. But lately I've been playing more and I feel in shape." @Inter_TV

🇹🇷🎙️ Hakan Çalhanoğlu:
"Arnautović? He's so important. He has experience and has had incredible moments with #Inter in the past. He's very important for the dressing room, he's the one who lifts the squad up in difficult moments." @SkySport

I think this guy just never managed to fully mature because he was made to be a great striker.

Even from an off ball movement point of view you can clearly see he is 10x times the striker Taremi is. Came in yesterday for 20 minutes and was in a dangerous position in the area at least 5 times due to correct off ball movement.
That said he fucked them all up trying to do a flashy pass because in his mind he was always a mix of Van Basten and Ibra so he never fully matured to understand that if played simple instead his g/a ratio would be much higher

That said, i read somewhere that we were thinking to keep him as 5th striker with a lower salary next year. There is a component of team building that we as fans can't see but clearly is appreciated in the group. So in case true probably he is worth keeping around in that role rather than burning someone like Pio Esposito

Tbh three strikers in one window is kinda hardcore..I'm skeptical we can manage that. Taremi Correa out definitely makes sense, though, rather than keeping taremi

Mark my words. He will continue to decline, but we'll go all the way to CL final, struggle, and he'll come on and score the winning goal. It's all written in the stars.
