I'd say it's quite likely Brozovic himself hasn't been willing to extend yet.

And the management went with this route, rather keep the guy for this season no matter what than sell him last summer.

He's rumoured to be lookong 8m a season. Can't blame him, he's been a top performer for years, but we can't really pay that. Have to think, would we be better with a more natural pure defensive midfielder over brozo?

Where did this 8m net pa demand come from? Its totally unrealistic. Currently Brozo's wages are 3.5m net (6.4m gross). Last I heard was that Inter were offering 5m net pa (9.2m gross, same as Hakan), while Brozo was asking 6m net (11m gross, same as Martinez who is the highest earner at Inter). That sounded fair, Brozo deserves 6m net. Not more, it would destroy Inter's wage structure.

There are different numbers flying around the media, it's quite possible none of them really knows what Brozo camp is asking, specially as there is no agent to to talk to. Unless they are calling his father and ask a number to publish.

I think it will be settled one way or another in weeks.
