I caught myself recently thinking why we can't buy players like this. City are spending but they are also spending wise on so many transfers. There are relatively cheap gems.

Well, they got him from a club they own, so I wouldn't put much into the price tag.

But it's true that City grew organically despite all that money. Never really went for a top tier player, even Haaland wasn't really the best striker in the game, just the next best thing and he still was out of the norm for them.
