Oh and no white shorts.
I never understood why UEFA/FIFA started messing with the teams kits and colors out of nowhere. Teams changing a part of their kits' color for no logical reason against a certain opponent it's just puzzling to me. It's not pretty to the eyes. Sometimes it's downright fugly!

Take World Cup final for example. France's classic kit (as they were wearing it before the final) is blue/white/red and Argentina's blue and white/black/white. They could just easily wear that with no problem, but for no reason France went with all blue and Argentina wore white shorts. Like why we even wore white wocks against Bayern in CL final?! Why we wors black socks away to Chelsea in that year? Were the fans/players were going to mistake teams for wearing white socks?!

Why constantly mess with the team's kits?! Let fans enjoy watching their teams in the colors they are most attached to

Television nonsense
There was no problem with watching teams in their regular kits before, but all of a sudden it became a problem? I don't really buy it. Real Madrid and Villareal always play with their light kits against each other and it's always hard to watch their matches with all these light colors and they never ever changed it. Watch it in black and white and you can't distinguish the teams at all! But a team has to change a part of their kit to dark/light so two teams look distinguishable on TV! lol

Haha I know but it's something that exists.

But in more seriousness, the reason is for the benefit of the refereeing team. They have to distinguish players from a distance and without having to look at the entire body.

So socks have to be a different color, shorts and of course the shirts. If a linesman has to see both the ball being played from deep and figure if the attacking player was ahead or not, he can trace this by seeing the colors with the edge of his eye.

The television nonsense is also true. But it also relates to the refs. Teams in some countries generally do not favor the green color as it's confusing the refs, and broadcasters even, with the grass.

But in this age of television, especially in the Premier League where they're using more filters than a teen wannabe Instagram model, it's becoming even more ridiculous and they want the teams to contrast as much as possible and they also want to avoid some colors. They are settling with the excuse that refs prefer it this way, but truth is that it's mostly a marketing reason. It creates discussion as to why team X plays with color Y and so on. And it's also better for television.

The ref thing might be a case but even if that's true that should always be the case, but once in a while I see two teams don't really follow the rule.

Just recently Real Madrid wore this against Valencia. How does this look better for the refs eyes than Real just wearing their all black?

Actually the current status is: Inter have communicated to UEFA that they’d like to wear their traditional black and blue home kit for the Champions League final, despite the fact that Manchester City are the designated home team.

Should their request be rejected, the Nerazzurri would instead play in their yellow third kit, which has already been worn on a number of occasions this season.

The yellow third kit would have been a real shame. Don’t know why it was such an issue to begin with— the shirt colors aren’t that similar. I agree with no white shorts call. It will definitely look better.

There was a potential issue with the kits? How’s that even possible ffs… our shirt, shorts, socks combo is dark, dark, dark while Man City’s is sky blue, white, sky blue. i.e. light, light, light

Idiotic.

I have got a mate that has been a Manchester City fan since the beginning of time

He suggested that we watch the game together. I do not have the stomach to tell him to fuck off (although that may be inferred by my lack of a response).

I also do not want to tell him that I hate his Cunt club and that he is the last person I would like to watch the game with.

FORZA INTER!

I was hosting some Italian Inter fans during the first derby and I told our token Milan fan that he's more than welcome if he follows two basic rules:
- Shout Milan Merda everytime the clock hits a new 10 minute mark.
- Wear an Inter jersey and scarf

He said no, but at least there were no hard feelings about being left out

My two best friends are Juve and Man City fans. I’ve watched most derbies d’italia with him and it’s always been fine. My Man city friend is definitely more of a shit talker, but I’m up to the challenge.

My 4 closest friends are Inter, ManUnited, Spurs and Atletico fans. The banter is great altho the rivalries are mostly missing. Especially since the group chat was dunking on Spurs even before Bale was at Spurs  Redknapp years were fun to commentate

Also, the Inter fan keeps choosing City and PSG for his FIFA team and I keep beating him with Brescia and Nantes.

I must be the only Interista itw who actually likes the white shorts :D

Maybe it's because white shorts are my default whenever I play tennis, but I love white shorts with the black/blue stripes as well. I actually think it makes the colors pop more that way. Black shorts are fine as well and the fuck I'll be to fuck with the standard of this club (although I know the '07-'08 kit was predominantly white shorts), but I'll never complain when seeing the white shorts.

It brings nice balance to the black-and-blue striped socks. What a beautiful kit.
