I think Allegri, while not the sexiest hire, is the right hire. He's a proven winner in Serie A and has made it to two UCL finals. He's not problematic, he's flexible, and above all else, seems to want to coach here. Three things someone in particular is not. I mean, didn't Allegri suggest he didn't want to coach at PSG because he preferred us? That's a pretty big statement seeing as how PSG has to be the best coaching job in the world. Superstar forwards, guaranteed to win your league every year and limitless funds. All you have to do is win in the CL. Simeone is obviously a target as well but I think he's waiting until we're in a better position to contend for the CL right away. Although if that's what he's holding out for, it's not looking good.

If I'm thinking of the right Allegri quote he actually said he would like to coach in England or for PSG but thinks realistically his next job is in Italy. I would have to see the interview, but yeah definitely looks like there's some sort of pre-agreement between him and the club.

I'm sure his big motivating factor behind waiting for us is that he could become the first coach to win the scudetto with Inter, Juventus, and Milan.

Well that would destroy my theory LOL. nvm let's go steal Nagelsmann. Or anyone but Conte.

That's what Allegri said on his next job in his interview for Times.

“Sure! I would like to experience the Premier League. In Italy, I was in Milan four years. Five years in Juventus. Now I expect [to work again] in Italy, but it is difficult, or in England.”

I had posted it on Perpetual Managers Rumours thread.

The rumour Allegri has rejected PSG in order to wait for Inter is just that. A rumour in Italy and France. No one has officially confirmed it. Not that i was expecting anyone to do it. It would be extremely unprofessional.

Biella would be rejected by people and environment in two months I fear.
Cholo would be perfect but is not leaving Atleti.

Maybe it’s management and the players.... Milan or Roma get Conte they win champions league

We play with 15 players against 10 and will find a way to fuck it up

Inter turns to utter shit in January let’s see if Conte can fix this. We are always in the fight until then

Last title was lost losing Bro during January and being childish about how much to pay for Eriksen.

Isn't he the highest paid manager in the world? As per FIF logic, anything less than treble is failure for him :eek:blivious:

One of the biggest things worrying me about this club going forward in relation to the potential majority/minority sale from Sunning is how we will replace Conte, because let's face it, hes definitely not staying another season...and probably shouldn't. Let's first hope he resigns and doesn't get sacked because we already can't afford to pay him 10 million on top of another coach.

How can the club move forward? Allegri seems to be the prime candidate and will do well with the players we already have, but there's a decent chance he could end up at Roma instead. Then what does that leave us with? At the point we're in now we can't go back to the Ranieris of the world or gamble on someone like De Zerbi. We probably couldn't lure Simeone here, or even afford to tbh. Hope Klopp gets sacked? Lol.

There are obviously other issues the club will face going forward but I can see a potential 180 coming our way and I'm concerned.

Like i have said before, Conte has more chances of staying at Inter under new ownership than under Suning. When there's an ownership change, the new guys usually choose to stick with the coach as they don't want to be seen they came to change everything. Sooner or later they're trying to bring their own hiring but this usually happens midseason.

If Conte leaves, Allegri is the most likely replacement. There's no chance Inter will spend big on a coach next season. It will mostly be a summer of cost-cutting. So we can forget names like Simeone and Klopp even if they became available. I believe Allegri is going to wait for Inter before accepting Roma, Napoli and the likes. But he isn't going to wait forever. If the ownership situation isn't resolved till the end of the season then he will probably go somewhere else.

But if we miss out on Allegri, then there are only gambles available. Coaches like Juric and De Zerbi who have never worked at a top club, Blanc who hasn't worked anywhere since he left PSG or pulling a Juve and hire someone totally inexperienced.

I think it'll come down to Conte wanting to leave unless new management will give him the exact things he wants. If he chooses to leave, especially sometime during pre-season and not immediately at this seasons end, I think we're fucked. I do agree Allegri is waiting for Inter and probably has a pre-agreement but everything's up in the air right now.

In before Stankovic gets appointed as our inexperienced club legend manager. He is actually doing quite well with Red Star though. 2.43 PPS after 42 games, unbeaten in the league after 20 games with 18W and 2D and reached Europa League knockout vs Bbilan. Of course it would be waaay to early for him to manage Inter, first he should manage a respectable Serie A side.

I don't see Inter sacking Conte only to hire Allegri. Whether its Suning or the next ownership, they cannot afford to pay the wages of two big coaches like that, not in this new normal. If Conte does get sacked, it will be coz we are going for a low cost coaching option to start a project for the future and will come with a big focus on reducing the wage bill. In other words, year zero.

On the remote possibility of Conte deciding to leave without pay, that is likely only if we win the scudetto and/or he gets a better offer... like if Juve offer him a bigger contract or something.

IMO the best case scenario for Inter is to let Conte see out his contract (and hopefully win a trophy or two), and then next year we upgrade the coach and the squad (provided we have money by then).

I think Conte might leave if there is no reinforcement next merkato and Inter have to sell Lautaro or Lukaku in addition.
