Spalletti is a great tactical coach but he has serious issues managing a team. If there's conflict, the team will suffer. Don't see anyone there that could clash with him though, so this season he might pull it off.

This has always been Spalletti's good period. If they can still play like that after World Cup break then i will start worrying about Napoli.
Worrying? If we can't win the league which honestly I'm already very doubtful of, I really hope Napoli can. Anyone but milan again (juve are already out of the race I think)

Like Spalletti and the way his team play. When he was here, Despite most of our fans which wanted to fire him I liked him and I think we didn't give him an apporopriate upportuntiy to prove himself.
At the time the squad was so weaker than now. I wish we could give him more time.

Yeah, I was for giving him another year IIRC, but Conte was such an obvious upgrade that it felt silly to not go for it.

He had two full seasons, we got him radja that he desperately wanted and he was fucking shit and cost zaniolo too, but we were dreadful in his second season. We were so so bad to watch. Empoli, already relegated, should have beat us on our last match day to knock us out of champions league qualification.

Appreciate him getting us back to CL but obvious both parties were better off separating. I still like him though.

Conte or no Conte, Spalletti needed to go. He had lost the dressing room since the embarrassing choking in CL, he was part responsible for the circus with Icardi, there was no progress from the previous season with terrible football on the pitch and we had to fight literally till the last moment of the season with Handa in God mode and goal line clearance from D'Ambrosio against freaking Empoli at Meazza in order to finish one point ahead of Gattuso's Milan.

In 2018/19 Spalletti simply failed in every font and he had to go. For me there are zero regrets towards Spalletti even if he ends up winning the title with Napoli.

On Empoli, they were actually fighting to stay in Serie A as much as we were fighting to maintain a top 4 spot.

On Spalletti, he came at the right time, as he was one of the main reasons we returned to CL. He was unlucky not to advance in the second season (Tottenham vs PSV series and Barcelona choking at home in the final day more than our last 3 games in the group which were fuck ups which is another story) and that was the beginning of the end.

If he had better resources, he'd win the Scudetto with us and definitely believe he'd do well in Europe but eventually he'd fall off with management and players.

What Barcelona choking? There was no choking in Barcelona-Tottenham. They had simply qualified from the group and they didn't give a fuck about the last game. It was our job to beat PSV, who also fought for nothing, at home. But of course choking philosopher chose to sub in Vrsaljko in 1-1 hoping Barcelona would do the job for him. He wasn't unlucky. He got exactly what he deserved for his choking mentality.

Despite the fact that I like Spalletti (I also agree on what brehme said with the right resources he might win the Scudetto with us and definitely believe he'd do well in Europe), letting him go after 2018/19 was the right move, cause the moment he'd fell off with management and players, there isn't many chances to come back from that.

However, I definitely won't say Icardi issue is on him, Icardi issue is on Wanda.
I also don't blame him for losing Zaniolo, because that was the year, we made top 4 again and Roma fell off top 4.

I share the same sentiment as IL Drago in terms of "For me there are zero regrets towards Spalletti even if he ends up winning the title with Napoli."

The same feeling as not keeping Bergkamp, sometimes it is just the right man at the wrong time and place, keeping them, they won't be any good, but you know they will shine if you part ways with them.

Well, we choked vs PSV (who were by far the best "smaller" or let's just say 4th team we had in our last 4 CL draws).
But Barcelona also choked against Tottenham at home. They didn't field their best obviously but they still could have secured that win. It was very unlike Barcelona of the last decade to play in such a manner. And their demise occurred the following year during Covid. The only other time they failed to win their last game in the group that decade was vs Benfica in 2012-13 and this was a team that always had settled qualification and usually 1st spot by that time.

The refs were scandalous in favor of Tottenham in the games vs PSV. One was genuinely bad for both sides with Tottenham gaining more, the other was blatantly favoring them.

On the other hand, we did our best to choke vs a weaker Barcelona side that came to San Siro the following year when we needed a win....

Spalletti had no future at Inter, I think we all know that. But if someone else did Spalletti's job and it would have been a much different feeling with Spallo if he came to a CL squad with a large enough budget.

Awful football and his results could be shit sometimes for months. His first season we imploded so hard in December that we didn't recover until February. With no Europe and no cup, we somehow managed to secure 4th.

His second season started banter era levels of shit. We beat Tottenham at home and then went on a good winning streak. In December we imploded again in the CL but he got some results in the league like win vs Napoli home and Empoli away.

In January another implosion in the league that culminated with a loss to Bologna at home. We recovered a bit, then we got eliminated early in the Europa League by Eintracht in March. It only remained to secure another 4th place and he delivered that in the last game.

Tl;dr we were awful to watch but he secured 4th both seasons.

If a coach loses the locker room, it's time to go. But let's not forget that Conte got a shitton more players that Spalletti didn't have.

To me Suning made a series of very poor decisions by parting ways with Mancini, signing Joao Mario/Gabishit, hiring De Boer/Pioli/Spalletti, the Icardi fiasco, Zaniolo/Radja deal and extending Spallo for another year. These decisions fucked us pretty bad which is still affecting us to this day.

I disgaree with those who believe Spalletti actually gave us something. Vice versa, I believe the negatives were more than positives in his time here. In his 2 seasons here he could only get us the 4th spot which Mancini did as well. So what was the point of throwing all this money to achieve the same thing? I believe we could achieve more by sticking to Mancini by giving him more time and support. After that we basically threw a lot of money away just to achieve the same thing with Spalletti.

Mancini and Joao Mario/Gabigol signing has nothing to do with Suning. They all came/gone when Thohir was the president.

I looked up and even De Boer, Pioli were all before Steven Zhang took the full control over the club.

Suning takeover happened in June, long before signing Mario, Gabigol and hiring De Boer and Pioli. Thohir had stayed as president but it was Suning that run the club. The last players Thohir signed were Ansaldi and Erkin. After that it's all Suning. Mancini left because Suning had given the control of the sporting project to Kia.

Oh, ok. For some reasons I always thought those two came after Thohir was screwed over by Jurabchan.

I have a hard time seeing Napoli fade away after the World Cup. They’re absolutely destroying teams. Good teams. What a start to the year for them.
