The thing is we never had much consistency, if I remember correctly we sold Crespo the year after he was a top CL scorer - not even for the team, but I think for the CL tournament itself. It was crazy how huge of a turnover and changes we have almost every year. Crazy to think some fans (or not fans, probably just posters and haters) here want us to go back to that.

On top of that, we have a lot of great strikers, but seldom do they stay healthy or stay in condition across seasons.
Also our CL was really sad. High hopes every year, all ended in disappointment.

I remember it was cool to shit on the team regardless, cause I felt very spoiled by Moratti, we have stars, we have big names, we were a big team, but these days it is stupid.

Top players such as Mbappe or Lautaro should reach his peak of the season January to May. When it really matters.

Early 00s Inter was such a mess in some positions. At least we started to get a bit more patient and build a core.

My family would joke that Inter has only GK and Strikers, nothing in between.

Lautaro looks like Aguero when he is on form

I don't mean to be a party pooper but he got lucky to score the first two goals. He reminded me of Lukaku, 80% or 90% of his shot went straight to the GK or mid. Still happy for the hat-trick though.

Grande Toro gets back to his form just on time when we start talking business!
100% agree on the overthinking when has time and beast when based on instinct. Whoever played as striker, even as hobby knows that there are the strikers that will go through the field and back and forth and troll every body on their way to score ( R9 style) and there is the 1-2 goal strikers (majority) and Toro definitely from this group. He is amazing with his first touches and pass/shoot. When he has time to run it usually less efficient. He isn't quick enough and not amazing dribbler but this quick turns and pass/shot-he is probably in the top 3 today.

That first penalty was a fucking disaster tbh, but it had enough power for it to not matter.

Lautaro Martinez: Inter showed ‘right mentality’ against Monaco and need to ‘keep going’

“Inter took to the field with the right mentality and attitude,” Lautaro Martinez told Sky Sport Italia after the game, which saw him awarded the Man of the Match.

“After sixteen minutes, we scored two goals, and then their red card. Credit goes to the whole team.

“Now we need to recover our energy, keep playing like this, and try to take Inter as high as possible. I’m happy and proud of my teammates for the journey we’ve made.”
Spoken like a true captain. Zanetti must be proud as well.
The Nerazzurri top-eight finish will spare them two extra games in the knockout phase play-off, and the Argentina international insists the ‘signs are positive’ for a team who is eager to reach another final after missing out on the Champions League trophy in 2023 due to a narrow defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

We’re sending an important message: we’re fourth in a very different Champions League with many strong teams, but Inter have been growing at the European level for many years,” Lautaro Martinez said.

“We made it to the final, playing toe to toe against City, and the signs are positive. We need to keep going like this and take Inter higher. I’m happy and proud, we’ve had an excellent group phase.”

The 27-year-old has dramatically increased his scoring tally in recent weeks, netting eight goals in as many games across all competitions since the turn of the year.
Keep it up champ

It seems that his form is back, which is great because he started fading away around same time last season.

That penalty was so bad taken again. He shouldn't take any penalties anymore, unless there is no other choice
