I think as far impact and consistency, it's clear Rodri has been the best player in the world the last two years.

For me dani olmo behind Ruiz
. But def no Rodri
Olmo was impressive as well, since the KO stage. He was a sub till the Semi (played almost entire QF tho).
I feel Fabian gets the edge overall.

Can we say best dm or best mid in the world? I hate comparing players of different positions with each other

I don't see where the Lautaro choking big matches narrative is coming from.
I have never seen him suffer vs big teams rather smaller ones. He has scored against Milan a lot , against Liverpool, against Barca etc

The problem is that in every season he has a 1/2 months of draught where he can't score no matter vs whom he is playing. If that draught happens in Feb/March than our CL chances are ruined like it has happened most of the time. If it happens in June than Argentina is facing the consequences in the WC

For me that draught comes because as smn said he is not a clinical finisher bur rather an instinct type of striker. Even the goal against Colombia now is not clean from a technical point of view , it just happened to go in. Therefore you would expect this type of striker to get more shots on goal for his numbers to go up ( or good luck) and of course vs bigger team you have less chances.
Milito was completely the opposite for example so no matter if it was CL final or league game , he would be able to maximize his occasions

The problem tbh is that he's not amazing in the CL. Group stages a few years ago he had more shots than any other player but didn't score any goals for example.
12 goals in 44 CL matches.

There's plenty of "context" around it to explain some of it away but to be fair, there's plenty of "context" for other big game chokers too

3 in 11 in latter stages in the CL

Lautaro Martinez is one of my favourite players from the time he come. Even my signature is Lautaro is the best striker in the world. I know he Will huge, cause somehow he reminds me Falcao. Today, without Suarez, Aguero, and Falcao. Lautaro the only one striker who have Latin America signature. The movement, balance, shooting, and dribbling so Latin American.

Lautaro Martínez will be one of the 4 favorites to win the 2024 Ballon d'Or together with Rodri, Vinicius JR and Bellingham according to
@lequipe
My captain. Laughable that people wanted him out till recently. Still one of the most underrated players out there.

Lautaro Martínez 2023-2024:

Scudetto
Supercoppa Italiana
Serie A MVP
Serie A Top Goalscorer
27 goals + 7 assists in 44 appearances for Inter
Copa América
Copa América Top Goalscorer (5 goals in just 221 minutes)
35 goals + 8 assists in all comps between Inter & Argentina
Two winning goals in two finals

Lautaro Martinez is one of my favourite players from the time he come.
From exactly this moment for me.

Still believe he is not in his absolute prime...

thats stupid, also given the fact that Argentina too was a colony of Spain.

If Marcus Thuram's father was born in Guadalupe does that mean Marcus should play for the NT of Guadalupe? just because he's black? The demographics of France NT is the result of France's colonial history, whether they like it or not, but to make a racist song about this is just small minded.

This is how Leao enters to Balon'Dor list instead of Lautaro .

After winning the cup these guys focus on singing about France ....

I would be partying with the Latinas , Amateurs
Yeah, it was idiotic. Enzo Fernandez apologised, but these footballers should know by now that this kind of behvaior is not acceptable these days.

Ok, all the political correctness asides. Why is so racist about what they sang? Are they offended because they’re from Algeria and not Angola?

Thuram is gonna be so mad at him. He's not gonna let Lautaro call his homeland Guadeloupe Angola.
