Golden boot winner for the Copa América, scored the winning goal of the Copa América, after his torturous 2022 World Cup and the associated criticism with it.

Hopefully he'll turn around his dismal Champions League scoring record next. He's showing he can handle pressure.

Definitely the most successful striker in 2023/2024, imo. Haaland, Mbappé and Kane don't compare because both in personal and collective achievements Lautaro did better.

I remember when people were talking about replacing him with Satriano after that one preseason lol.

Finally, just about time our boy being a clutch after being a torrid chokejob in multiple big moments. So glad that our captain shines when other high profile strikers are invisible like Kane and Mbappe in the international tournaments.

ps: I dislike his shot placement as it was right at the GK's head and it was barely blocked, but I guess this it not the time to ruin the celebration by a menial detail.

Actually I think it was a very good shot placement, that is one of the hardest spot to save on a Gk 1 on 1 situation, when keepers rush out like that spreading themselves wide.

Goal.com predicts him at number 5 for the Balon D’or. If he didn’t have his usual 2/3 month black outs there would be a genuine argument for him, particularly if we’d hit QF/SF of the CL.
Yeah, if we made decent progress in the CL he'd have a better shout.

That is clearly the only thing missing. The only thing why people still think Aguero is a better and more clutch.

To me, Lautaro in the last 2 seasons did a lot of things Aguero couldn't. People can't seriously still think Aguero was a better footballer than Lautaro. Lautaro in that City squad would win more than Aguero. I guarantee you that.

Lautaro is a pretty amazing footballer we just need to see a bit more consistency. He's lacking at the higher level which is unfortunate but maybe the Copa is the start of a turnaround

I still believe in him and want him to be a long term part of Inter we just need to build around his weaknesses and be conscious of them

The only thing that Aguero has that Lautaro doesn't is Strength which the former probably achieved thru steroids given his heart issues.

This chokejob narrative needs to stop, it was ridiculous already before the Copa.

I won't let that pass.

I still believe he as a player is better than how he played in CL in most games. At least we are progressing out of groups now, early in his Inter career we couldn't even do that (not mainly his fault ofc).

Dude has only got to play against proper competition in the last 5 seasons, but you can sense his progression. He has two Copas, 2 Scudettos and a World Cup to show for it.

He is a natural at scoring, altho not in the way Haaland is. Scores with instinct, not as a prolific finisher. He does everything to make the team win.
