Baldanzi is already starting for Empoli at 20 and he's a future star. But i don't think he suits our system. He could only be an option if we switched to 4-2-3-1.

I like Joao Felix as a compliment to our main striker, not as our main striker. Same with players like Firmino or Werner. I love them, but I see them as the perfect counterpart to a striker like Lautaro or Icardi.

To be fair, Lautaro is just in the middle of Palacio and Icardi, which is why he can also be a second striker with his skillset (probably why Inzaghi see him and Džeko as a good pair)

I would've loved Isak here, which is impossible now, or Haaland . Vlahović is probably leaving Serie A (if I was Real Madrid, I'd take a chance on him). For other strikers, I don't know, I need to do some research. Apparently Dia is okay, but I have no memory of watching him.

Chelsea isn’t signing him permanently and Atletico obviously don’t have a long term plan for him. He would fit like a glove here imo. I think a 2 striker system is ideal for him, just not Atletico’s. He is too expensive for a Serie A club though. He’ll probably end up at Arsenal.

I think the year right after we replaced Lukaku was a success in terms of goal scoring; but also leads to my another point is the problem this year was not defense as many like to put it, also FYI Jube conceded goals similar to us this year the year they won, so the defense wins title is not an absolute :

I think besides the "unlucky" of goals scored when lower than xG; the use of personnel and limit on bench has contribution to the unlucky effects (combines with drains on energy tactics), but also the injuries and recovery time, let alone min pre-season prep time. Feels like more of an Inzaghi post, but again it is not doomsday if we lose Lautaro but finger cross he stays for a long time like JZ and Milto. He has a strong captain vibe.

One more thing is Lautaro brings way more than just goals.

That's just not true cause attack was the problem last season in key moments especially and one of the biggest reasons why we lost the title. Or everyone forgot that February-March run?

And defense (defensive setup) was clearly problem this year as players also admitted.

I don't care about what raw numbers are saying in this case. They said one year that Nagatomo has 5 goals and 6 assists and he was still pure garbage like every other year.

That wouldn't necessarly make us better. If SMS and Pavard can be brought cheap enough, maybe selling Dumfries and Brozović is the way to go.

But to bring somebody instead of Lautaro, he needs to bring more than just goals to fill that hole

I just love this dude. He is not a clinical finisher, yet a prolific goalscorer. I don't know how to explain, but it's amazing.

Lautaro must stay. He is the ultimate support striker you could ever dream of. Not only his work rate and pressing is insane, but he bangs in the goals as well.

It would be fantastic if we could sign a clinical goalscorer to play alongside Lautaro next season. Dzeko is not gonna be here next season I guess. Lukaku might return to Chelsea next season. Pochettino seems interested in him.
