Skriniar won't be in his prime for another few years, VVD is in his prime now, and Ramos is deep in his injury-prone twilight years. Ramos is a remnant of the previous decade and I rightfully left him out the equation.
I don't want Lautaro to build muscle, I want him to not fall down every time someone merely looks at him. I want him to be able to evade and beat his marker. I want him to be able to instill some fear into defenders and for defenders to consider him a nuisance. I also don't think Lautaro is excelling at anything other than first touch, so I doubt there is much to risk losing or hindering if he attempts to improve elsewhere.
But all this is hypothetical because he will never build muscle or improve. Argentinian football culture makes sure of it, and that's why we can allow ourselves to consider that Lautaro has effectively hit his plateau. He just won the World Cup, that comes with a blank check for ego. We had the same issue at Inter post-triplete when all the treble heroes thought they knew everything and that new coaches can't teach them anything valuable. For Lautaro (and Inter) this world cup trophy will likely have far more negative effects than positive. And ironically enough he barely had anything to do with winning the damn thing.
