I think it's too early for him to be deployed as a registra. He has good passing and ball control, but his defensive contribution and positioning is off the mark. Imo he shall be moved a bit higher on the pitch. He has a lot of energy and he is not afraid to attack the penalty area, so maybe it's worth if Inzgahi gives him some minutes as CM.
I agree. At least in big matches. He could pull it off against midtable teams but i think he's too weak defensively to play as a regista against big teams. Now that Hakan plays so well as a regista perhaps it would be better to try him as an lcm.

I agree with this.
When it comes to going forward, passing quality and technical ability he is already good to play for us, of course with the caviat that he will do mistakes.
But when it comes to defensive positioning he lacks a lot in tactical awareness and tackling. The 2nd goal would probably not happen if it was brozo there in that position or chala.
Still there is no fucking reason why gaglia should have more minutes than him no matter the position.

I agree with all these posts but while he can be Mhikitaryans sub, I still believe getting as much minutes as a regista is good for him, make him more ready for when we will really need him

Problem is once Brozovic is back he won't get much playing time as regista. He will be behind Brozovic and Hakan. I'd rather him getting playing time from Gagliardini.

sure, but sadly he doesn't have Gags/Bellanova build, maybe he'd play more

Well the last we heard regarding this situation was that Limone explicitly does not consider Asslani an option for the CM position and views him exclusively as a Brozovic sub.

ASLLANI: ‘HAPPY WITH INTER MINUTES AND READY FOR ITALY’
The midfielder was signed from Empoli for a total €14.5m in July, but has made only 12 appearances for a total of 312 minutes of football.

Despite the fact he was brought in as an understudy for Marcelo Brozovic, Asllani was generally overlooked during the Croatian’s injury in favour of Hakan Calhanoglu.

“I am a young player, I know there are people like Brozovic and Calhanoglu ahead of me and I can learn a great deal from them. I am happy with the number of minutes I have played so far, it’s not an easy situation,” said the 20-year-old in a press conference.

Asllani was raised in Italy as part of Empoli’s youth academy, but decided to play his international football for Albania.

He is expected to start when the two nations face off in a friendly match in Tirana on Wednesday.

“Of course this will be a special game for me, seeing as I’ve lived in Italy since I was two years old. I have many friends in the Italy squad and hope that we will do well. We talked about this game and I can’t wait.

“It’s going to be a very difficult match, but we will try our best to make our fans happy. Italy are at a very high level, but we have our qualities too and must continue like this.”

Albania are under the guidance of former Napoli and Lazio coach Edy Reja, continuing the Italian connection.

“I think this could be our strongest ever Albania squad, as we have really strong players with great technique, so have a good chance of qualifying for the Euros.”
Hope to see him instead of Gags.

He’s got the right mental attitude. Hard work pretty much always pays off in the long run so I still have a good feeling about him. It’s the fly by night lazy wonderkids who always end up falling off.

Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani admits he didn’t sleep for four days after missing a goal against Barcelona in the Champions League in October and denies he wants to leave the Nerazzurri.

The Albania international joined Inter on an initial loan deal with an option to buy from Empoli last summer but hasn’t been getting regular playing time under Simone Inzaghi.

“I have to improve, I am playing in a midfield with many champions, there’s nothing strange,” the 20-year-old told Gazzetta.

“I am ready, but I didn’t think I’d get much playing time because of my teammates’ qualities. I am happy when I play and I am here to learn. I consider Marcelo Brozovic and Hakan Calhanoglu two masters.”

There were reports in Italy last night that he wanted to leave the club to play more consistently elsewhere.

“No, it’s fake news. I am happy to be here and I want to stay. I made this choice and I’d do it again. I knew the path and I know it’s all part of the process.

“Everyone has welcomed me warmly here. Danilo D’Ambrosio is unique, he is the man who transmits the ‘Interism’ from one generation to another. He keeps telling me that the name on the back of the shirt is not important, what matters is the crest on the chest. One day, I’d like to be like him and mentor young players.”

What would he like to learn from his teammates in midfield?

“Tranquility with the ball from Brozovic, grit and attitude from Barella and technique from Calhanoglu and Mkhitaryan, they have superior quality. From Gagliardini, the physical strength and his late runs.”

Asllani has made 12 appearances for Inter this season, including five in the Champions League.

This past October he could have gotten his name on the scoresheet in a Champions League match against Barcelona at Camp Nou but missed a fair chance of scoring from an excellent position.

“When I don’t think about it, somebody else does it for me. When I walk in the streets, there’s always somebody mentioning it and it’s a bit annoying,” the midfielder admitted.

“However, I admit I didn’t sleep for four days after that, I spent the nights watching the action.

“I was destroyed, but everyone consoled me. I can’t go back in time, but this is the time to look forward. Before Porto, we must focus on Napoli. If we win on January 4 we can reopen the title race to everyone.”

They still managed a 3-3 draw in Spain and went beyond the group stage finishing runners-up to Bayern Munich.

The Nerazzurri beat Atalanta 3-2 in the last match before the World Cup break in November and resume the season on January 4 in a home match with table leaders Napoli.

I’ve cooled on this kid a bit.. it’s obviously still early and he’s young but he seems a little star struck out there. He should at least be getting more minutes than Gagliardini. And I don’t think that’s all Inzaghi’s fault. Asllani needs to start showing something soon.

Imo, Aslani should get more playing time. Too bad, we can't score 3 in one half, to bring reserves and rotate. And that is the problem of Lautaro, Lukaku, Correa or even Dzeko. They are not giving chances for rotation by not scoring on easy chances. And Dumfries, Darmian, Miki and Di Marco do not provide enough quality crosses, Sure Dimarco' inside the box cross was beautiful and Dzeko finished nicely against Napoli, but those kind of good crosses happen rare and that is the problem. Essentially, wing backs do not provide tha goods and forwards miss a lot of chances.

The problem with the kid is that I really don't see him as an anchor, at least not at this moment. At least he isn't totally inept with the ball, but with his build, he needs to either bulk up or become the next Verratti or smth.

He shows his playmaking sense and skills as always; I really don't think we should limit his play into Broz's, but I think it stables and makes it easier for him to know where to position himself, as he is learning more about the game.
In short, I really think this guy just needs and deserves more play time and he is up for it. I really don't see why the others get to play more than him.
