But that prevented a certain goal from going in which means it's a penalty. Benatia shouldn't have his arm this low to block Icardi's shot.

 certain goal

go watch the highlights again

His hand is behind his back and is totally there to break the fall. Nothing malicious. It would've been a different scenario if Benatia wasn't falling, if the ball hit him in the hand while he was turning and if his arm wasn't next to his body. Football rules dictate that in situations like Benatia just was, penalty is never given.

Idk what to feel about this. 1 point gained okay, but that was an awful performance. We'll get murdered in CL if we play this way.

It's just one game. An important game, yes but a game none the less. It's not unusual to have a bad game every once in a while, Spalleti just needs to get the players in the right frame of mind for these big matches, they were nervous as hell today.

Guys, our worst performance of the season so far was in turn and we still emerged with a point, what more do we want? To reach the objective of CL, this is clearly a good result for us. Maintained our lead against Juve and still on the top 2. We should celebrate this result.

It was a penalty. Benatia knew where the ball was going.

Nah, he went for a sliding tackle while Icardi shot underneath his back. He has no way to know where the ball was unless he has eyes behind his back.
Also the ball was shot from close range. Sadly, it was a clean play.

lucky to not conceded
unlucky to not get the penalty
so we're good

just remember when the transfer window closed and most of us predict in Jan, Inter will be in 10th bcause we don't get the expensive players

That wasn't a penalty. The ball hit Benatia's leg, got deflected, went under him and hit his hand. Instead of whining about that incident be thankful that we are walking away from Turin with a point.

People saying Allegri got one over on Spalletti need to relax. Juventus are just better than us. It's really that simple.

We will get better with time, we are still in the first year with Spalletti AND the first year with Sabatini. Give it time.

Just try to watch the slow motion replay. He swung his right arm backwards and looked to his behind from the right side.

Let's not delude ourselves into winning the Scudetto. Our aim is the CL and this momentum of ours is, most importantly, still going strong.

Funny thing is now we have the advantage for the scudetto race since we have all the top 3 games on our home. We've passed the tougher part of the season.

He was sliding feet first, your upper body will always fall back towards the ground. It’s instinct to swing your arm(s) back to brace for the fall.

Great as usual, better dispersion of the ball than usual. MOTM - 7.5

Danilo D'ambrosio
Continuously lost Mandzukic at the back post and Skrinrar really should have taken over the marking of him but thats probably on spalletti or Miranda who have more experience. - 5.5

Miranda
Good, between skrinrar and him they stopped juve getting the ball much in our box and most corners and freekicks -6.5

Škriniar
Should have started man marking Mandzukic instead of dd but otherwise did well. - 6.5

Santon
Got forward a bit too often and didnt do enough when he was up there. Continuely let Cuadrado deliver dangerous crosses. 6

Vecino
Mediocre, flashes of brilliance but not often enough for me. 6

Brozovic
Poor game for him, lack of effort from him. 5.5

Valero
didnt have the space to create anything and this really limited our attacks from the wing.Again only flashes of what we expect from him. 6

Perisic
Did very little, never even delivered a successful cross to Icardi. Not good. 5

Candreva
Same as Perisic. 5

Icardi
Literally received nothing from our midfield, the one chance he had was okay. (Not a pen BTW)

Absolutely.

Had this been the old late 2000s squad, we would be in prime position for the Scudetto. But the past few years were absolute trash and it's unrealistic for us to aim to be better than sides that have been consistently building over solid foundation (ie, Napoli & Juventus).

But yes, results this year have been 9.5/10 for me.

Remember mancini's season when we were on top in December and what happened after,,,I know spallo is not that stupid to see us drop so far down the table but I think the second hlf of a season is always tougher, tiredness and injuries raises its ugly head.

Santon, Candreva and Peresic might as well have just gone ahead and pissed themselves. Having said that Juve were set up very well to stop us and shut down all the space.

Miranda, Skriniar and Handanovic saved us. Vecino also was quite good.
Bringing on Gags seemed to stabilise things.

Overall we were very lucky.

Nope. He made a move to stop the ball. Had it been seen on VAR, it will be a penalty.

Few years ago we had a penalty conceded by Nesta from Pazzini's header. If that was a penalty, then this is a penalty.

People who are upset still dream about Scudetto, for a top four finish we are looking fantastic.
Draws against Napoli and Juventus away? Even with Scudetto as a target that's not bad at all.

We will see how we bounce back after this game, I'm confident Spaletti will learn from this and we'll improve.
