Milan Juve got postponed and now Napoli Inter is at risk. As YoramG said, i think we will see no Inter/Serie A for the next weeks.

So if the whole season gets canceled, what’s the protocol?

they should postpone Euro to next year.

1) The virus is not only in Italy and there will be anyway some games in Italy at the Euro.
2) Some leagues could stop too (The Swiss league already made it), so other leagues will have the same problem.
3) I also don't know if it makes sense to continue Champions League and Europa League without a pause. Specialy for the italian teams it would be the end if they continue.

Getafe fans are moaning about playing behind closed doors as well.

It's almost like people aren't aware there's a potentially deadly contagious virus going around.

Exactly. Now the question is, why did Marotta allow Lega do this favor for juBentus - not to accept playing behind closed doors?

Sure, it would pinpoint the demons, but at the price of suspending the championship? Perhaps they will think twice the next time when they install a new President :D

#fuck`emandtheirlaw

Well Marotta cannot force the game to be played. But I don't understand how it makes better for corona situation that matches are not played closed doors. They explain this all because of the corona virus but matches cannot be played closed doors or at least Rube matches cannot.

Can everyone just fuck off.
What? I read completely contrary what you saying.
Getafe president said health come first, and that if they have to, he has no problem playing with no fans.

It was an official supporters club, not Getafe themselves, will edit! Hadn't read it right, thanks for pointing out.

which is why the lega president name should be Dal Pinocchio. Juventus refused to play because they didn't want to lose the revenue. However, it is impossible to announce the game is postponed because of that, so coronavirus is the one to be blamed despite the fact the minister has allowed the games to proceed behind the closed doors.

The fact that Serie B games continue on makes the whole circus.. :yao:

Maybe they should send juBe to Serie B, so they can keep playing games with their fans? Everyone happy?? :challenge:

I find this whole situation has brought out such typical and revealing responses about the respective fanbases of Inter, juve and Milan.

Opinions vary within the Inter camp. Some are super eager to take every bit of information as proof for their belief that juve is manipulating the league. Confirmation bias some might call it. Others are more cautious, but the overall response is understandably one of great indignation.

The attitude of the juve troglodytes, typically, is soaked in such delusional contempt that it's sickening. See the way juve fans talk - not just the way they talk about Inter, but even to each other. It's beyond disgusting, but incredibly illuminating.

These are people who genuinely believe supporting juve makes them superior to others. They attach their ego and self-worth to their club and they feel like juve's success, in turn, makes them winners in life. They think supporting juve makes them movie-hero alpha males and that anyone who complains about anything is a betacucklibtard.

This delusion is like a terminal rot which has set heavy. However, beneath the gangrenous facade is an obvious insecurity. They are scared of the truths of Calciopoli and their club's general corruption and criminality. Deep down they know it.

Their way of dealing with this crippling unrest is to delude themselves. They construct an impenetrable veneer of being too cool, too alpha, too good to worry about the pathetic loserish bitching of weaker fans beneath them - even though of course, this 'bitching' is very often based in truth as Calciopoli and countless other instances have proved. Every time a juventus fan cracks a joke like "haha I hope we beat Inter with a dubious penalty" or "lol I hope Nedved pays off Rochi." That is a nervous twitch response of the last, dying breath of their conscience, daring to go up against the giant juve ego they've trapped themselves in. Pitiable, if it wasn't so disgusting. It almost makes you wish they'd all just get together and kill each other.

With regards to this latest case of preferential treatment and Agnelli's influence over the Lega, the fans responses are hysterical. Watch them trying to think retroactively to re-wire and wrap their support around these ludicrous decisions which change every few hours  It's as pathetic as it gets.

Speaking of pitiable, we finally (and hilariously) come to Milan fans who are too busy jerking off to the idea of Rangnick to care about current affairs

Li Yonghong, Bonucci, Andre Silva, Elliott Management, Rocco Commisso, Leonardo Pt. II, Gazidis, Gattuso, Return of the King Maldini (& Boban), Ibrahimovic, Arnault... Players, coaches, directors, even owners ffs  Their list of saviours, coming to restore them to glory, grows ever longer.

Such is the state of their club, they always get so fucking fixated on every name that gets linked to them. All the while they remain largely oblivious and uninterested about what's going on outside their retarded bubble.

The FIGC President Gabriele Gravina: 'Football a victim of itself'

“Football is a sport that feeds passion and interests out of the ordinary and sometimes ends up being a victim of itself but represents an essential component of the country – both socially and economically.

“We have been serious in the discussion with the government and it’s not true that football doesn’t have public health and general interests at heart. I renewed the invitation to unity and a sense of responsibility, both within the Lega and outside.

“It’s precisely in this spirit that in the summer we had asked to bring the start of Serie A forward by a week or two. If the Lega had listened to us, we wouldn’t have been in this situation.” .

Seems to support Marotta by blaming the Lega president :trolldad:

So if the whole season gets canceled, what’s the protocol?

So far, it has only happened once over 100 years ago. The title was awarded to Genoa, who was leading its group when the season got canceled because of the first world war. That decision is still debated after over a century.

I'm not sure there's a rule, and most likely, it would also end up being a political issue.

No way Agnelli will settle to have the title given to Lazio :D

Another one supporting Marotta`s position:

Renzo Ulivieri, the president of the Italian Coaches Association, has shared his opinion that the decision to postpone this past weekends match between Juventus and Inter at the Allianz Stadium was made due to one of the clubs. The Derby D’Italia was among the games to be postponed this past weekend as Serie A saw disruption for a second match day as a result of the ongoing Coronavirus issue in the country. In an interview with Italian radio station Radio 1 Rai earlier on this evening, Ulivieri stressed that matches should not be postponed and that those that have been postponed need to be played as soon as possible. “One of Juventus and Inter did not want to play so they made the choice to postpone the game,” he said. “Playing behind closed doors can be a disadvantage for the home team, but in my opinion these things should be put aside in order not to distort the championship, matches must not be postponed, they must be caught up on as soon as possible.”

Ulivieri also commented on Inter president Steven Zhang’s outburst against Lega Serie A president Paolo Dal Pino which saw Zhang accuse Dal Pino of not taking public health seriously and also call him a clown for his handling of the whole situation as of late. “He immediately adapted to our way of speaking. I took it as something said by someone who doesn’t know our language, I hope it was a translation error.”

Inter President Steven Zhang has argued that he will “continue to insist” that “safety comes first” and tells the Lega to “not play around with the calendar”.

We should know more after today`s meeting, I expect it to be scandalous

Now that playing this game with fans in the foreseeable future isn't an option anymore i won't be surprised if Agnelli tries to push this game to be played as late as possible.

SERIE A HEADING TOWARDS ONE-MONTH FAN BAN

Italian sports minister Vincenzo Spadafora says the government is likely to order all Serie A games to be played behind closed doors for the next month due to the coronavirus outbreak.

"We are heading towards that decision," Spadafora told reporters leaving the government’s Rome headquarters of Palazzo Chigi.

“We will continue all activities, and so will the league, but we will respect public health.”

The Italian FA has ordered both Coppa Italia semi-finals, Juventus vs AC Milan and Napoli vs Inter Milan, to be postponed this week.

Eight Serie A fixures have been postponed over the past two weeks including a top-of-the-table clash between Juventus and Inter Milan originally scheduled to take place on Sunday evening.

The postponed Derby D’Italia between Juventus and Inter could take place this coming Sunday rather than Monday according to a report in the print edition of Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The match between the two great rivals was due to take place this past weekend but was one of several games postponed by Lega Serie A as a direct result of the ongoing Coronavirus situation in Italy. Although not officially confirmed, it appeared that the game had been rearranged to take place on March 9 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, the day after the government restrictions on large scale public gatherings were to have finished.

However, it is now looking increasingly likely that all games for the foreseeable future will be played behind closed doors thus meaning the game could be played on Sunday instead of holding out until Monday as the conditions will be the exact same.
