The gamble on Martinez has a pretty simple explanation really, and many won’t like it— he is skilled with the ball at his feet. More so than the other names we were linked with, even if he wasn’t the first choice.

Inzaghi, and by extension the management, see the future as ball-playing goalkeepers that can in-effect serve as extra outfield players. He sees it at worth the risk to maybe have a goalkeeper that wasn’t AS good at traditional goalkeeping, for the overall net gain in the way they can help control the ball. We all saw how much Onana improved our overall play when he stepped in for Handanovic.

Agree or not. That’s the direction we’re deciding to go in. We’ll see if it pays off.

Side note: for the voting questions in the last one that says 1 probably worth adding Joao Mario and Correa instead of Quaresma and Mancini. As bad of purchases as those 2 were Joao Mario and Correa are a completely different level of useless + both fuckers overstayed their welcome…especially the latter

Gonna be super awkward when we go out to Udinese and he doesn’t see the pitch again until the summer.

The pressure on him must be insane. Every move will be micro-analysed

I wonder if Inzaghi will let him play the Como match

I don't think so, but realistically shouldn't be a big deal even if he gets another chance, let's say against Como. Though being a goalkeeper in Inter doesn't seem like a very challenging task because our defence has been quite solid over the past couple of years, except of a short periods where team has been shaky collectively.

Also it's not like Josep is inexperienced youngster whom rarely played at this level.

Wonder how much we'd get. Am sure it'd be a loss. But if it means stankovic back not against it

This guy reminds me of the time Juve had signed Neto for post Buffon while Gigi was still at a respectable level. He rarely played so he eventually got tired of sitting on the bench and just left the club long before Juve moved on from Buffon.

Difference is Juve had money and had only signed Neto on a free while Inter have no money and made this guy our most expensive transfer last summer.

One of the most baffling decisions of Marotta at the club.

If we sell him, must be some character issue, not a lack of ability. I mean doesn't have the personality to be a GK in a big club, not everyone can do it, no matter how skilled. Applies to outfield players, but specially for GK.

But let's see what happens before we judge the guy. :D Pretty bad scouting if we got it that wrong.

This was just idiocy by management. A club in our feeble financial position cannot shell out 15M on a backup keeper. It doesn't matter the circumstances. You can always find reserve keepers on a free.

He either needed to be placed in a proper time share with Sommer, or just not signed. Imagine how much better this team would be if we spent the 15M we wasted on Martinez on a CB or a regista.

Lol what are you going to buy with 15 million :ROFLMAO: Backups only (and not good ones). The market is fucked.
