One thing I absolutely loved (and continue to love) about Mourinho is his ability to comment upon and sum things up in a few sentences and doing so in a manner which inevitably cuts.

There should not be any second chances for Champions League teams. If they get eliminated in the group stage then so be it.

the revenue from EL is so low, that I don't think anyone would be against it in that regard

the coefficients also don't move much up unless you win it

I'd rather finish 8th than 5-7th

Let me remind everyone that Inter are not through yet, and Barca not 'relegated' to EL.
Inter first needs to win against Plzen for that to be 100% / or equal the result of Barca vs Bayern.

Football can be a funny game, and we all know Inter are top of the league when it comes to funny games (ex. Pazza Inter). With Inter it's hardly ever easy, I guess we should all know that by now. Especially Mourinho

Indeed nothing is official yet, but without trying to underestimate Plzen, they are absolutely dogshit. We've managed to defeat them while we've been awful and we were through a bad form. It's not like we're great either but at least we're better atm and I can't see how we're gonna struggle at defeating them. Miracles do happen, but I expect us to win comfortably at home against Plzen.

VIDEO: EMOTIONAL INTER TREBLE REUNION FOR MOURINHO AND STANKOVIC

There was an emotional reunion on the touchline between Jose Mourinho and Dejan Stankovic, who won the Treble together at Inter, but are today opposing coaches in Sampdoria–Roma.

Mou was the tactician in that 2009-10 campaign that saw Inter win the Champions League, Serie A title and Coppa Italia, the only Italian club to ever achieve that feat.
Stankovic was one of the stars of his midfield, but now he is a coach himself and joined Sampdoria last week.

There was a touching moment as the pair met up again during the warm-up at Marassi, Mourinho giving Stankovic a paternal kiss on the top of the head.

Mourinho embraced Stankovic during the warm-up and gave him a paternal kiss on the top of the head:
“It was a special embrace and he is a special guy. I don’t know if I can tell you what I said to him, but one of the things I said was: ‘Remember that crazy goal you scored here?’ He hit one from midfield!

“He said he cared about me, I replied the same and we’ll meet later.”

Please no. It has nothing to do with his coaching style or whatever, it's just pure magnificient legacy he achieved with us and I don't want that to be destroyed by any eventual disappointment by him coming back and failing.

Bastian Schweinsteiger has admitted that a transfer to Inter which fell through is the biggest regret of his career.
The midfielder spent most of his career in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, before a season at Manchester United in 2015 and a move to Chicago Fire two years later, until he retired in 2019.

In an interview with Italian television broadcaster Rai Sport, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, Schweinsteiger revealed that he had the opportunity to leave Bayern for Inter in 2008 and play under coach Jose Mourinho, but Bayern’s failure to land Alexander Hleb meant he remained in Bavaria.

“Jose Mourinho had just arrived in Milan, (Jurgen) Klinsmann was at Bayern and he wanted the Belarussian from Stuttgart, Alex Hleb at all costs,” the 2014 World Cup winner claimed.

“He was playing in my position so I could have looked for another team. Mourinho had sensed the deal, he was missing just the signature.

“Then Barcelona came into the equation and Hleb moved to Spain, so I wasn’t allowed to leave. Inter signed (Ricardo) Quaresma and the Brazilian, (Amantino) Mancini instead.

As a big Serie A fan, it is my biggest regret. Somehow I tried to make up for it; I got married in Italy and I come to Italy for tourism whenever I can,” he added.
Wasn`t sure where to post this (Mou factor), I remember we were linked to him.

The ridicule iirc came once the usual reports that "Inter is not interested in Schweinsteiger", "no offer was made" etc came out.

It's not as if we weren't really close to sign the guy.

Deals collapse at the final stages often, doesn't mean they weren't ever real possibilities.
Guys made it sound like he had imagined a story out of nowhere.

Very similar situation happened with Milinkovic-Savic and Inter in 2019, and I'm sure we'll be hearing about it in the future by SMS and others.
