Imagine buying a guy for record price money to only play him in the wrong position and watch the fans bitch about him being bad :palm:

What does his position has to do with missing sitters? Fucking Ranocchia would've scored that sitter with his eyes closed.

I don't think he would be in that position to score a sitter if he was on the RM position.

But if people only judge Mario as someone who has failed his Inter career just because he missed sitters then people need to get their shit right. You don't buy a Ferrari to then use it as a Fiat do you.

I’ll say it again i think we should use this guy deeper in midfield as one of the 2. He’s so shit at finishing but he is typically (not last game) good at bringing the ball forward and maintaining possession.

I would be interested to see a midfield consisting of Gags - JM with Brozo in front. I think it could help our fluidity. Going forward I would avoid playing Vecino and JM at the same time because I feel their functions in the team should be more or less the same. Box to box connecting play but not the man for the final 3rd.

i'd say we need to experiment with 4 3 1 2. it is shocking, i know. playing without Candreva and Perisic or wingerless are never on Spalletti's mind.

Icardi--Eder

Valero/Mario

Vecino--Gagliardini--Brozovic

Nagatomo--Miranda--Skriniar--Cancelo

i'm quite curious with.how it will go tbh

Someone remind of iniestas goals scored in his career?

When will ppl understand Mario isnt the box to box goal treathening midfielder, hes a maestro learn your basic knowledge people before you just start whining about stuff. Spalletti's biggest mistake so far is J.Mario, hes the best midfielder we have and just because Spalletti is used to goal scoring midfielders doesnt mean he shouldnt be able to integrate J. Mario into a valid working system, hes kinda making the best midfielder asset we got rot on the bench and dissepear just cause he isnt used to that typ of players in his system, I dont like it...

even not considering that unforgivable mistake he was our worst player. he just walked on the pitch.

for the record, iniesta scored more than 50 goals in his career and one of them was in the final of the 2010 world cup.

spalletti may have made mistakes but jm isn't helping his case.

The problem with Jmario, is not that he misses easy chances.
It's important to get to a scoring chance, and he constantly ends up in good scoring opportunities, which is a good quality to have.
Finishing them is a matter of technical issue that can be worked out with lots of practicing, and he's technically gifted enough to resolve this issue.

The fucked up thing with him, is, it doesn't seem like he cares...he doesn't show any signs of playing with all your heart...and that's just sad and irritating with him.

PS. For baby Jesus's sake lets not compare him with Iniesta!

Im not saying he is on iniestas lvl because obviously hes not, Iniesta is truly one of a kind. All im saying alot of good the best midfielders arent knowned for their scoring abilitys nor scoring alot of goals. Mario is easy our best midfielder, in Spallettis prefered system hes not tho but thats my case, I believe the best coaches adopt to the personal at disposal.

That beeing said im very happy about Spallettis I just happens to think that the way hes handles J. Mario is one of his mistakes

But JMario has played in different positions with Spalletti.....he just doesnt seem to influence Spalletti to keep playing him regularly.
Yes, JMario is not as bad as we make him to be, but blaming Spalletti for Jmario's inconsistency is not right imo

What certainly is most frustrating is this dude actually had the potential to be better than all our midfielders. JM was one of the standout players at the Euros and how much we paid he must be starting every match but JM is either mentally weak or came to the wrong club .

When you see Candreva, Santon, Nagatomo and Ranocchia have had good games, some even best performances, under their belts under Spalletti. Joao Mario has himself to be blamed. He wasn't influential under De Boer nor Pioli.

He may not have scored or assisted much under Pioli but he definitely much more of an impact on games.

Spalletti:
“As for Joao Mario, he’s a simple lad to understand, he has a wonderful attitude in attending training and in the dressing room. When I’ve talked to him he didn’t tell me anything strange.

“There can be a lot of rumours about a player, they can be true or false but he’s a good lad from a professional point of view.

“I’m sorry that there were a couple of balls he could have scored from and he didn’t take those chances, if you think about leaving you lose a bit of attention in those situations.

“It’s inevitable in that case you lose your motivation for results, application makes the difference.

“So he’s not happy now, but he’s trained well and all I care about is that he’s professional every day and he’s doing that.

“If I saw a blatant bad attitude it’s clear we’d address that problem straight away, because I’d be the first to highlight it.”

I think it's obvious JM has asked to leave in January.

He actually had 6 assists under Pioli, while he had just one under De Boer. He ended up being our third player on assists last season (tied with Banega and Icardi). Even this season, he has 5 assists which makes him our third player on assists behind Candreva and Perisic.
