His confidence is near zero. Shell of a player vs the one who won Euros last year.

I actually didn't think he played poorly. Has some nice runs and didn't really make any mistakes with his passing. I see him now as a potential option for the 2 in front of defense against weaker teams. Would prefer a Vecino next to him though.

The solution is actually very easy, stop getting into scoring position and he's golden. it's crazy how a player with limited shooting keeps getting chances.

Btw, great game, more of this please.

He had a few passes that probably only him and brozovic are capable of. Would like to see him dribble a bit more but overall satisfied.

Yes, he didn't have a "bad" game. But his body language was very bad from the beginning and got worst after gk saved his 1v1 from the Icardi steal + assist. He is just very passive on the press and on transition which is not his game at all. And very reserved when on the ball, as if afraid of making mistakes.

Just my opinion that what we saw and have been seeing this season is just not the player at all from Euro 16 or even early last year with FdB (think first Juve game last season).

If you see where he was when Skriniar won the ball that led to the 4th goal, you can see he was just not pressing anymore. He was right next to Skriniar, then Skriniar went on dribbling the ball, Mario was jogging. When Skriniar passed to Brozovic, Mario was 2 steps behind Skriniar. When Brozovic lobbed the ball to Candreva, Skriniar was already 5 steps ahead of Mario. When Candreva crossed the ball, Mario should have been where Skriniar was.

So its Mario time now when we run out player to bitchin.. I mean what in the world we need critcizing every step of our player, is not like he just stand still for 90 min, he is indeed made a lot of forward runs and pressing especially on first half but ofc our player need stay run for 90 min like machine, right?

he hasn't played a full match for 2 months and you are trying to make an excuse for him not running at minute 59. Lol.

Just for the record, no one says he played badly but he certainly showed reluctancy to push forward or making an attempt. You can see this again from his shot which bounced off Perisic and led to Perisic last goal. Mario just aimlessly shot the ball. Something isn't right about him.

The fuck.. lets just took 4th goal as you want, there is brozovic who is a meter near inglese who did nothing until Skriniar made tackle and ofc you need to blame mario who one step behind. And when they made a counter, just look where is mario??? He is the one who made a forward run only right at outside the box waiting for lose ball. Why wouldnt you criticizing the other 'lazy' player who didnt join the counter but mario?

Not sure why this made me quote the below :p

"Because we have to chase him. Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now, so we'll hunt him. Because he can take it, because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a Dark Knight."

He really needs to start the Coppa game. He's on the fringes and needs some confidence. Unfortunately, looks like he has the flu.

Sabatini's comments about Joao Mario to O'Jogo

“We didn’t receive concrete offers, but we know that João Mario has the World Cup and wants to play more. We’ll see what we’ll do now in January, we’ll meet in the next few days to decide it”, Sabatini told O Jogo.

Asked if Spanish side Valencia would be a good destination for João Mario, the official said: “It would be a very inteligent transfer from their part, even because we’ve been doing many deals with Valencia, we’ve got great relations”.

And we get a second Cancelo in exchange for Joao Mario.

Of course they'd have a good relation with us.

I feel like we really could have used this guy over the last week or so. First against Pordenone and then as a sub against Udinese. I like the way he looked in a deep midfield position against Chievo

at this point, i think he wants to leave and Inter is more than willing to sell him, for the right price.

edit: or rather i should say: at this point, it's quite obvious.

The difficulty though is "the right price". I think it's nay impossible to sell him without affecting our finances negatively with how much we paid for him and how little he has featured for us this season. A swap deal makes the most sense and as rare as it is for those to happen these days the January mercato is always your best bet for it to go down. Let's see how Ausilio and co deal with this.

Somebody knows a good site to find some advanced stats? I would like to know what is our winning percentage with both Mario & Brozo starting. This season it happened only in the 5-0 win over chievo and in addition I remember them starting in our good run under Pioli.
