This is a blow for sure (expected as well), as Perisic is a complete player and had been on fire in that position. Thankfully, we already have Gosens with us and hopefully he will deliver. Best wishes to Perisic, as he has almost always delivered for us since the time he joined.

Perisic was one of those few rays of sunshine in an otherwise bleak world for many seasons and there is no question he gave his all. He is definitely among the guys who deserved our trophies the most after all these years of waiting (alongside Handanovic).

The last impression it the impression that remains.
But do you remember how all the forum was raging because Bayern didn't pay those 12 or 15m 2 years ago?
Yes, he was fantastic last season (contract year, don't forget), but he also had a few mehhh seasons.
I am glad he left and we can go on with Gosens, who is in his prime.

The meh season was the perišić vs icardi fight season. Before that, there was the meme #perisictoicardi. He was good before the fight and became a beast on LWB when he came back from Bayern, not right away, but at the right moment, together with Eriksen, to win the scudetto.

Wow can`t believe how many pages have been wasted on the LGI discussion... Ivan has no business being considered for that. He did his job well (aka mercenary), but is far from being a club legend.

LGI not, for once be grateful to a warrior like him. Or you only deserve average players like Nandez.
I haven`t seen anyone complaining about Ivan`s contribution this season. What`s wrong with Nandez BTW? He is now available for only 15M :pazzini:

I voted for LGI. But I agree with you that he is a mercenary. But if we are basing off the benchmark on why Erikson got voted in LGI that gives no reason why Perisic shouldn't be put in LGI also

Ivan was outright world class player that had to play in a new position and got better. Top3 Inter player of the last 10 years, next to Brozo and Skriniar.

This era of Inter was partly defined by him.

I find the mercenary excuse weak and pathetic. Dude played 6 years for us + that one season at Bayern. Oh yes so very mercenary  now he wants his last paycheck, Inter didn't have the money, he wanted to try EPL etc.

7 years at the same club, over 200 games played and the only loan happened when there was a internal fighting? Looks kinda loyal to me, chief. He knows his worth

Edit: let me just add this. Okay, so let's say he isn't LGI, because that goes to top of the top players -> which in my opinion he is, he just wasn't in our club at the right time. He would deliver in any iteration of Inter. But sure, he isn't LGI, but saying he is a mercenary is a bit much. Are you mad he isn't staying?

PERISIC REFLECTS ON INITIAL CONTACT FROM TOTTENHAM AND ROLE CHANGE UNDER CONTE

Ivan Perisic revealed that Tottenham first approached him in March and he reflected on his new life as a wing back under Antonio Conte.

The 33-year-old Croatian joined Spurs on a free transfer last month after his contract expired with Inter, ending a seven-year tie to the Nerazzurri. Conte transformed Perisic from an attacking winger into a wing back to great success, helping re-invent the player.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Perisic first discussed Tottenham’s initial approach and his desire to move to the Premier League.
“I think our first contact was in March, and the second one was in April when I think they won against Arsenal, and it was obvious that maybe they’re going to reach the Champions League.
“I always wanted to play in the Champions League and my wish was also to try to come to the Premier League.
“When they reached the Champions League, we spoke and the deal was done in two days, and it was much easier.”

The 33-year-old Croatian wing back then spoke about how his role changed under Conte.
“With him, I changed my position and he likes to play with three at the back,” he says. “At Inter we used to play with 3-5-2 and I was on the left as a wing-back.
“In the beginning I needed a few games to adapt. It’s really something new after so many years as a winger, but I think later I did well.
“Especially also last season with Inzaghi, because we kept playing the same tactic and now also here we’re going to try to play a similar system.
“I like to play in this position because I have more contacts with the ball than as a winger and most of the time I’m facing the goal – and I also like to help the defence.
“I think it’s the perfect position for me.”

During his seven years contracted to Inter, Perisic made 252 appearances across all competitions, helping the side win a Supercoppa Italiana, a Coppa Italia and a Scudetto. He scored 55 goals and provided 49 assists in that time, impressing as both a winger and a wing back.
Grazie Ivan, good luck there!

Perisic does not deserve LGI.

With the exception of his last two seasons at Inter, he was a complete cunt.

People keep forgetting that Icardi wouldn't score his tap ins without Perišić bossing on the left.

in certain moments Perišić to Icardi was the meme. It's the double combo punch that worked for us enough to finally become a team that plays in CL. The 'Perišić was shit before going to Bayern' IS TOTAL BS.

He was at his best as a LWB, because that position was tailormade for him. But as a LW, he was better THAN ANY OTHER LW or RW at the time.
