It's in installments that means at the end of the year our finances still balance out.

Exclusive: The Full Transcript of the Inter-Wolfsburg Negotiations for Ivan Perisic

After one of the most protracted transfer negotiations in recent memory, Inter and Wolfsburg have finally reached an accord on the reportedly 20 million sale of Ivan Perisic, who recently landed in Milano. The Inter Offside has obtained an audio recording of the full transfer negotiations from an anonymous source. It's a fascinating glimpse into the persuasive tactics of Inter's directors, as well as an intimate glimpse at the Inter formula in action.

Inter: We want to buy Perisic.
Wolfsburg: Fine. That’ll be 20 million.
Inter: Huh. We were thinking more in the neighborhood of 17 million…
Wolfsburg: That's too bad. 20 million.
Inter: 17.5 million?
Wolfsburg: No. 20 million.
Inter: Let's start over -- fortunately, we've devised our own formula for these sorts of situations. Here's the deal: Season-long loan for 2.5 million, with obligation to buy later at 15 million?
Wolfsburg: No. 20 million.
Inter: Okay, okay, how about this. Season-long loan for 3 million, obligation to buy later at 14.5 million.
Wolfsburg: No. 20 million.
Inter: Okay okay, let's add some bonuses here. Season-long loan for 3 million, obligation to buy later at 12 million, with a 1 million bonus if he makes more than 15 appearances and an extra 1.5 million in bonuses if we make the Champions League?
Wolfsburg: No. 20 million.
Inter: Hold on just a minute, we’ll sweeten the deal. Two-season loan with obligatory purchase for 10 million, paid in five semi-monthly installments, alongside a 5 million bonus after his first five substitute appearances in away matches, plus a four-year bonus royalty rate of 500 bucks for every pass he completes in a Coppa Italia match or a summer friendly (some restrictions apply), a 2 million discount credit to be applied to all future purchases, 8.6% of profits from all Perisic jersey sales (not including child sizes), the use of Erick Thohir’s personal helicopter whenever he’s out of town, and a complimentary bottle of champagne?
Wolfsburg: Do you have 20 million? If not, I think we’re done here…
Inter: Wait, wait. Fine. We’ll pay the 20 million. Paid in installments over 6 years.
Wolfsburg: 3 years.
Inter: 5 years.
Wolfsburg: 3 years.
Inter: 4 years.
Wolfsburg: 3 years.
Inter: All right, that sounds like a deal, 20 million paid over 3 years. Well, it took us three months, but I'm glad we could finally hammer out an agreement that I hope we can both live with. Pleasure doing business with you. Do you take American Express?
Wolfsburg: No retard we'll take you're fucken 20 million Euro.

What fucken useless negotiator.... even my nonna would do better.

Interviewed about the next two matches for Croatia (Azerbaijan and Norway), Mateo Kovacic also answered a question about his own transfer from Inter and his compatriot Ivan Perisic recent move to Inter:

Everything is great, Real Madrid is the biggest club and everything is working perfectly here. At first I was hesitant, but being at the Santiago Bernabeu is a dream. Im glad that Perisic went to Inter, for him and for the club, and I am convinced that Inter is the ideal club for him.

FCIN – How Fassone and Martic convinced Wolfsburg10

It was without a doubt the ‘soap opera’ of the summer, a negotiation that was never easy became, as the days went by, complicated, very difficult. Almost impossible, so much, in fact, that he may never have been able to wear Nerazzurri shirt number 44. To the good fortune of Roberto Mancini, however, at the end Wolfsburg caved in, with the signing of Ivan Perisic announced on Sunday evening, during the match against Carpi. But nothing was easy, no down time, but many obstacles, with some interesting details that our partners at FcInterNews reveals and which reinforces – and very much so – this scenario.

As is now known, decisive for the positive epilogue of this affair was the general manager Marco Fassone, that with the blitz in Monte Carlo convinced Klaus Allofs after two meetings in a few hours. The German is a very, very tough costumer. Two meetings which, however, that was running a very big risk of never being scheduled at all. During the last week before the deal was closed, the same German sporting director, in fact, erected a real ‘wall’ around him, so as to avoid any contact (either face to face or by phone) with the leadership of Inter and especially with the agent of the Croatian, Tonci Martic.

The latter proved to be the protagonist at the end of this negotiation, with a decisive action that was followed by another, obviously, he misfired. The agent continually tried to get in contact with Allofs in the days leading to the two meetings in Monte Carlo (especially at the ‘Volkswagen Arena’), without – as mentioned – never getting any answers. A paradoxical situation, with Wolfsburg who ‘escaped’ by continuing to emphasize the non-transferability of the player. And the days passed and Kevin De Bruyne was getting closer to Manchester City…

Then the turning point, when the draw for the Champions League was held. An appointment that Fassone could have chosen not to participate. Not because they wanted to – that’s obvious – but for the usual unfriendly ‘wall’ created by Allofs. The question now is: how did the two leaders to meet, given that the general manager of Inter was not aware of having to continue their negotiations in Monte Carlo, without having no agreement on times and location with the sporting director of Wolfsburg?

It was at this point Martic entered forcefully into play, not minding the will of Allofs suggested to Fassone to travel to Monte Carlo, in order to put Allofs back against the wall. From here the first meeting (which brought the parties closer), then the second, the decisive one. In short, a great job by Fassone, assisted by the complicity of agent Perisic. A team that at the end of a marathon satisfied all parties involved, especially Mancini and the Croatian player.

On that video he looks like a very complete player. Pacey, great off the ball, good finisher and decent dribbling. His stats are also pretty good for a winger too.

Cant say i know him well, apart from his NT performance, but can't say im not exited to see him and Ljajic supporting Jojo/Icardi.

Badass. We finally showing balls. Though it probably wouldn't have happened without Perisic' agent telling Fassone to go to Monte Carlo.

That didn't look like a shot on goal to me. Looked more like a misplaced cross that was really lucky to have hit the bar.

No worries. We can offload him in January to Stoke.
