It's something the world of football is lacking.

Most modern players are tourists in the sport's history books. Or at least should be treated as such.

The ones who take it more seriously are the lower level players that try to maintain a good standard of professionalism because otherwise they'd be in 3rd tier or lower. Which is why we have lower talent on average now but higher standards of fitness.
