I like that he doesn't hide. Fonseca has balls.

Now check out that Piedmonte club who every season sets a " top4 " goal even after constantly spending 100+ millions every summer. Every season is " year zero" to them lol.
Tbf "aspiration" is not a goal or a target it's more just a dream.

I see Milan as first, Napoli as second, Inter as third until winter. After that depending on how tight it is, we will chase until Matchday 30 and eventually catch up. We have work to do at the beginning of the season, as our players are not there yet due to short breaks, injuries, etc.

This season will be far tougher than the last one.

Napoli are having a horrible pre season so far. They also lack quality in some positions imo. I don't see a team ready to fight for Scudetto.

Me neither in the long haul, but I’m pretty sure that they’re going to grind results at the beginning. Don’t forget they have no European duties so that’s a big factor.

In the end I see us deciding it with Milan with us getting the notch, Milan in second, Juventus in third and Atalanta or Napoli in fourth.

Really? I see a clear inferior squad. Which one of them could get into our starting XI?

Maybe Theo could get closed to Dimarco and that's it.
I do think they are not as good a squad as ours, however they werent a few years ago and beat us to the title. And theyre a better team now than they were then. Leao, Pulisic, Theo, Maignan all start here imo. Maybe not Pulisic but he'd be interesting as a RWB/Support Striker.

Come on man, there's no planet where Pulisic is a capable wingback.

These squad comparison games are pointless because we have such a rigid shape.

So people think Chiesa can play RWB but Pulisic can't? We literally saw Perisic do it within a season or two. Many wingers can be wing backs if they have the mentality for it. Most wingers cant because they simply dont want to defend. Pulisic isn't a game breaker but he just had a better season in Serie A than Chiesa has ever had. Quite frankly if Pulisic was Italian this forum would foam at the mouth for him. I don't think Pulisic nor Chiesa would want to do it, but we'll have to disagree on whether they could or not.

We have actual game footage of Chiesa playing wingback at Fiorentina, and looking good doing so.

Pulisic's preferred position is still LW. He only plays on the right to accommodate Leao. Turning him into a RWB is insanity.

I see Napoli with Conte and Oriali as one of the main contenders.

yeah on paper for sure. But a lot of things can happen. Injurys, unlucky things, defence being weaker compared to last year, no alternatives upfront if Taremi gets injured..

Don't have one.
A lot will depend on the mentality of our main players. Can they repeat themselves, that's the question.

It will sound wrong what I will say right now, especially after the season we had, but I still have some doubts over the mentality of some players like di marco, barella, bastoni etc... They need more than one season of winning major trophies like scuddetto for me to confirm them as true champions. And I mean consecutive seasons, not every other year and when everything flows smoothly like it did last year, at least in the league. In short, we need a dynasty, and that's not created by winning it every other leap year.

I’ m sure their mentality are top notch. We are the best team compared to Milan, Juve, Roma and Napoli.

I think Barella is solid, last season I think he was a major aspect of the team's winning mentality. Bastoni/di marco may need some espresso. We'll see. Hoping they have a great season just to shut up bilan/rube fans. Hopefully they are incensed about what others have said about them and are looking to silence critics. Since spalletti/buffon are not people I consider good motivators/coaches.

I think Inter can win, but that will depend on several things. For me, it will be:

#1 Injuries. Especially at striker pos, we're screwed if that happens.
#2 Frattesi/aslani We need them to really be part of system going forward. Bisseck has shown really positive things. The other two need to have big performances this season.
#3 New aquisitions, they need to come in with positivity right away. Not expecting them to outperform starters. Just be decent and adapt to system.
#4 Defense. Huge part of our success last year. Previous points apply here, but I single it out because We cannot afford to drop points against lower/mid table teams.

I'd like to obviously get the double. It's the most realistic thing we can accomplish. League+cup is the way to go. CL is always tough since its just pay to win. We don't have the $. That being said. The CL would be the only obvious consolation if we fail our objectives domestically.

I am a little worried. I do not think we have sufficiently reinforced the squad this summer. We need a central defender (even more so now with de Vrij's injury) and right wing back and also need to add another striker.

Personally, I feel that Oaktree looked at last season, considered the gap between us and Milan and are conveniently resting on their laurels. On most occasions when teams attempt to wind it back with minimal improvements, it does not go well.
