Eyes on atalanta as well as our potential main rival till the end of the season, not even joking. They are capable of going on unbeaten crazy runs much more than this napoli team, imo.

Napoli so far are failing the beginning of the year title test every new contender has to pass. If i m not mistaken, last year juve team fall apart in february as well, and many others before them.

I didn't expect to be in front of Napoli before playing Napoli. Making Napoli play for the win in the Scudetto derby is good for us.

But that Atalanta game is going to be a nail bitter.

I really had a feeling that Como was gonna defeat Napoli, but wasn't gonna say it because I was afraid I might jinx it. But remember, we'll have to play them away from home right in the end aswell.

Great to be in the first place. Let this be a morale boost for our boys, they really need it.

Thx Como, Cesc and Paz for pausing Napoli. Hope we show up next week and extend our lead to 4. Several members of our team need to step up, as they've been disappointing in the past weeks. Hope we get Thuram back too.
It's time we beat top Serie A team. People are whole season complaining. Win in Naples and everything else is erased.

This. Derby losses and everything will be forgotten if we win next week and win the league. Il

I am amazed how tired Napoli look. They only have one game a week but look as tired as us.
Conte training methods imo. But they can't complain, it's what got them to have this amount of points to begin with.

We know how demanding Conte trainings are. And this time there's no Pintus to keep them fit.

Napoli so far are failing the beginning of the year title test every new contender has to pass. If i m not mistaken, last year juve team fall apart in february as well, and many others before them.

In our last two Scudetto campaigns, Milan had 49 points through 21 games in 2020-'21, Juventus has 52 points through 21 games last year. Both of them dipped in form considerably after those match days.

The difference right now is that, in those two seasons, it was at those exact same points when those two dipped that we caught fire and ran away with the league. While Milan's form dipped beginning with MD22, we won nine straight games. Juventus' form dipped beginning at MD22, we won eight straight games. (And, as @ElDuccio pointed out, in both cases we were +1 on Milan/Juve going into direct matchups with them, won those games to go +4, and then took off from there. And that's the exact same scenario presenting itself now for next week.) This year, Napoli's 0-3-1 beginning with MD23, only 3/12 points, but we're only 7/15 points in that same time frame even with the extra game to play. That's why we haven't pulled away yet like we did those previous seasons, we haven't been able to time a winning streak with our rivals' dip in form. Yet at least.

But it's a two-way street. Without those late Angeliño and Dia goals from Napoli's recent trips to Rome, we would've entered this weekend -6 and on life support. We missed a chance to make up ground, but Napoli missed a chance to potentially bury us.

Yeah but don't recall our side looking this done. Lukaka looks like a walking corpse and the rest not much better.

Looking at their lineup its incredible they are second. They have some PL rejects and some fairly average italian players plus Lobotka and Buongiorno which are actually top players.

Next week is an absolute must win..no excuses.

But why are you surprised? This dip in Napoli's form, including the way it's happened, has a lot of parallels to our 2019-'20 season under Conte as well.

We went 9-9-3 between matchdays 15-35 that season, which spanned both sides of the COVID pause (we were 4-5-2 in our last 11 before COVID). We coughed up a shit-ton of points from games we led in the 75th minute or later. And that part of the schedule was with extremely minimal European distraction, we only played one CL and two EL games in that time frame.

Conte's a fantastic league manager and I've said this myself too, but when he has imperfect teams, even he isn't always capable of keeping them on-point for an entire season. And to go back to the metaphor I've used a fair bit recently, once there's one crack in the armor (in this case, the late concession at Roma), it's not unusual for more cracks to begin popping up. And that's what looks to be happening right now.

Lukaku has been washed up for a while now, I don't think fatigue is a reason behind his performances. He's been clumsy at Inter aswell (second stint).

And I don't see it as shocking tbh. Players can be fatigued even with just one match a week. It's all about intensity and lack of recovery. But Napoli has looked unconvincing ever since tbh, they can't get away with it for a whole season, while Inter looked like a dominant side, needed like gazillion chances to win matches and everything else.

Scudetto showdown in Naples got turned upside down. The pressure has changed completely. With a projected Napoli win today, it was supposed to be us, who can't afford to lose there.

Now its Napoli!!

Grande Como!
