The ref did his best but couldn't help save toothless Milan from being stuffed at home by the mighty boys in burgundy from Campania

In fact, if Salernitana players had made some passes in the final third, this would've been a scoreline for the ages

Don't have one.
I don't remember the last time when clubs in the top choked more. No wonder that in that type of season napoli will be champions

We played the best football out of Meelan, Lazio, Roma, but left empty handed. Only Napoli and Rube doing their job. Winning.

I Want this fucking season to end already. Bring me summer, sun, beach, swimming, hiking, not 90minute watch of LuLa shitting their pants on free scoring chances.

Porto is theeeeeemost important match tomorrow.

Quite the opposite. It's the smaller sides whose quality had gone up in recent years. No free points for bigger sides anymore (mostly). Even salernitanas of the world come to Meazza to steal a point if the home side is not ready.

That was actually always the case but people refused to see it.

Problem was that the team winning was Juventus, and knocking points off of them has other side effects so smaller teams didn't really put up a good fight against them for a variety of reasons.

how's that different to any other league?
Idk, as far as I see it there are 2 teams fighting for the title in Premier League. La liga, Real Madrid is only 9 points away from Barcelona, wouldn't call it a wrap yet.

Come on man, literally everyone is dropping points this weekend. It's pathetic display from all the "top" teams.

Okay so all those years the small teams were giving out wins to Juve for variety reasons? And not because they were just too strong and dominated the league?

I can agree with accusations of the refs helping juve, but teams losing on purpose?

Yeah I don't know man, I'd be skeptical too but with all the deals Juve had going on with the various Atalantas and Sassuolos, which are now being investigated, would it be much of a stretch to think teams just didn't think it was worth trying against Juve?7

I remember sides like Bologna rotating against Juve in prep for more "winnable" games.

Half the league co-owned a bunch of their best players and prospects with Juventus.

Most teams wouldn't field their best team vs Juventus and would rest some of their best guys or force them to be suspended in games against them.

Juventus controlled who was in Serie A. And the margins of being and not being in Serie A are very slim. Smaller teams couldn't risk that.

Midtable teams had a number of benefits. Provided that they kneeled to the hegemon.

And several other small things, such as players kinda wanting to play for Juventus, expressed in a worse attitude than the Bundesliga Bayern relationship.

Ref assistance is just one side of the coin.

Basically the same thing we are doing against Spezia, Monza, Samp, etc. in order to win against Porto, Milan and Napoli. 🌞

The league has been become more competitive by the league in general becoming more shit. The gap is being lessened between the top teams and bottom sides.

Still, some European success could hopefully lead to a more sustainable long term model that looks to circumnavigate large spending in squad building. Results yet to be seen.

All the league needs are some smart owners who are willing to invest in infrastructure and capable leadership who aren't afraid of punishing cheating scum like Juve

So many great brands in this league -- the next TV deal is bound to be amazing
