Yes, because that makes sense?

Whereas playing the SAME THREE DEFENDERS 2 months earlier forming good habits, communication, and retaining some of their tactical discipline is just unbelievable?

Is it believable that this was working for several months and then suddenly they decided that the new coach will get his way and they're start collectively sucking?

Yes? Absolutely.

Tactics take time to build, they also take time to break. If you've been drilled so that its second nature how to coordinate and work together, that hangover will last past the immediate coach who gave you those instructions - it'll take time to lose that mentality. Imagine, for example, De Vrij as our main ball playing CB, and suddenly Inzaghi is telling him to be the defender and Skriniar is the ball playing centre back. You dont go and do it the next day, it takes a few months to drill in the tactical discipline.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Moratti gave the view that this Inter squad is strong but identified the lack of a player who has a moment of invention to unlock matches.

Few would deny that at the moment Inter’s squad is one of at least the two or three strongest in Serie A, at least on paper.

In terms of balance, however, there are some questions about whether the team is missing a profile of player who can regularly unlock difficult matches with a dribble or pass.

The team have the technical quality from back to front necessary to execute a high-pressing possession game, but sometimes look short on ideas when they reach the final third.

In the view of Moratti, this is exactly what the team is missing.

“There’s not too much wrong with how Inter play,” he said, “they have excellent players.”

“What’s needed is to understand how they can play great matches against good or even very good teams, but then drop off against the best opposition, apart from Barcelona.”

“There’s something missing,” the former President suggested.

“They lack a bit of imagination,” he continued, “a player who is unpredictable and can change the game.”

“I was hoping for a lot in Lautaro and I continue to back him, he has a lot of class, and then Barella’s in great form, but being unpredictable is something altogether different.”

“Maybe we need to look to sign a player who’s like that.”

Well, that guy went to roma for a nickel.

Man he is damn right. We have super role-players such as Barella, Bastoni, Lautaro, Brozovic and Skriniar, but lack that super top player (De Bruyne, Benzema, Mane, Salah etc..) which makes the difference in crucial moments.

What is with this same defenders BS?

We play differently to Conte era. Inzaghi is no Conte. And we don't have the players. We don't have Hakimi, we have Dumfries, we don't have Perisic, we have Dimarco, we don't have Eriksen, we have Hakan, we don't have Lukaku, we have Dzeko (yes).

Inzaghi takes more risks (in our game) because he has to. He don't have those players Conte had so we cannot play the same way.

Copied a post below from Lukaku thead, but my post here answers this already

No, de vrij's declination isnt on Inzaghi, but still, the overall poor performance of the defense I think has at least some significant component that can be blamed on him, the tactical set up, etc. One of the first things Barella (?) said was that with Inzaghi they have a lot more tactical freedom - its clear that's having major detrimental impact on the defense.

The one time you put Meelan on your fairly expensive acca and they fail to win . Clowns.

Whats that. 8pts off Napoli. We can close to -3pts from Pioli tomorrow.

Can't believe how we are even worse than Milan. It goes to show how pathetic we are. If only we shown at least A VERY LITTLE bit of competence, we would certainly have more points than Milan and most likely in close competition with Napoli.

But, it's impossible to expect competence when you have a complete moron as a coach.

Then again, Juve is above us in the standings as well, and just imagine in which kind of situation are Juve currently.

Maybe Napoli had a choking dna with their older players, you know Insigne, Mertens, Petagna etc. Strikers that delivered, but bottled too in key moments. Maybe this year its gone now with gold nuggets like Kvara, Simeone, Kim. Players that are bringing new fresh mentality in. Osimhen is back in full force too, carrying the team as he's supposed too. Whatever happens, its too early to hand out scudetto winners, but even Meelan has fallen off and is already -8. I have absolutely no problems Spalletti getting that medal in the end so we can have a fresh fight with Milan for the 2nd star. I was so sure of Meelan being in Napolis position, running away by december with a healthy lead, but its Spalletti doing it. We can get close to 2nd place again with a win. But Bologna is in great form. I want to see a hammering, this team has to gift fans a a big win after how they dropped their pants vs stinkin Rube.

Leao has only 2 goals and 0 assists in the last 10 matches. Both of goals were scored against below average opponents like Monza and Dinamo Zagreb. He has also been pretty poor in overall. Theo has been crap lately as well. I mean, the grass is always greener on the other side.

The difference between us and them is that their coach was at least competent enough to realize what kind of group he has on his regime and work out the best out of it, meanwhile our coach has a better group and still fails miserably and makes us feel like we are inferior to Milan, which in fact isn't true. Milan in many occasions was lucky enough to get away with an ugly win despite playing like crap for entire match, meanwhile it's totally opposite to us.
