I think Tammy is a good signing. You can argue about the cost, but then he will have a resale value since he's English (and very young). Playing under Mourinho will/could do wonders for him.

Let's not forget Mourinho might actually know the kid from his time at chelsea and have some insight beyond what we all may or may not know.

Abraham is good. Spending 40m for him is WAY better than 40m for Zapata, when the two rumors emerged.

People here having laugh at Abraham I think were the same ones laughing at Lukaku too. You simply look down on Premier League as a whole and do not look at individuals.

If we spent 40m on someone who's had 2 great Serie B equivalent seasons and couldn't get a regular spot at a top tier team we'd be fuming. The kid has talent but he's a gamble at this stage. It's not like Roma has that much money to spend.

Roma is probably banking that a starting spot will inflate his value and they can sell him back for more. Roma actually has a good attacking midfield line so a striker has less things to do, which is why this puzzles me. A quality box striker could have scored 25+ here, with Tammy it's still possible but you have to take into account settling into a new country, unknown language, different football style etc.

Felt he was robbed of a chance with Chelsea last season, but this is a signing that I just didn't anticipate and still cannot understand.

I predicted he'd have a great first 6-10 games, maybe go on a scoring streak, then tail off (along with Mourinho).

From what I saw of him at Chelsea he just struck me as a prety mediocre modern striker. Good basics and decent finishing but certainly inflated in price, relative to his actual ability, due to the English tax. Can't deny however he's been very good in the first two games and demonstrated a lot more involvement and sense than anticipated.

Why is Patrick Kendrick calling three matches every week? What happened to Tony Dorigo and company?
Just on this, I discovered the other commentator is none other than our own Massimo Paganin! Dude usually gives tactical analysis or asks tactical questions to coaches in the post-match interviews on Inter TV. I guess that means he left Inter TV and now works as a commentator?

Wow, nice free kick goal by Milan’s very own interpretation of Anton Chigurh.

This is how top teams are expected to look this season.

Imo there's no clear favorite for the Scudetto this season and the race is wide open.

This is actually a little deceptive because it doesn't show where you've replaced a first team starter who left with someone you already had e.g. diaz

In league race squad depth is more important than the first team. You should show all the backups to have the full picture.

Juve is still the best in that regard.

Their squad depth has actually got worse compared to last season and i don't see huge differencies. Kean and Kulusevski are decent options from the bench but i don't consider them better than Correa and Sanchez. Their midfield bench is full of inconsistent players and i am not sure i would take any of them over fit Sensi and Vidal. The main difference is in defence where they have Chiellini who's a quality option but the rest are as bad as ours.

But on that argument you could also say they've only weakened since last year? I looked at their bench the last couple of games and like half of them are unknowns

All in all it was a terrible transfer window for Serie A. The league lost names like Lukaku, Hakimi, Donnarumma and Ronaldo, while the biggest name coming in were Abraham, Bakayoko and Giroud.

That Atalanta line up really does not look inspiring, but somehow they’ll still manage to walk into a top 4 position.

Milan look like shit on paper. I really wonder how they’re going to fare this year.

On the other hand, that Napoli squad looks tailor made for Spalletti - they really need to upgrade on Mario Rui, but I think they’ll do really well.

Abraham and Mou are going to have a great season together IMO, but I don’t think that’ll be enough to cover up for Roma’s deficiencies.

And finally, Juve look significantly weakened. Allegri will make them tick, but changing their mentality after a year of Pirlo (and losing a mentality monster like Ronaldo) will probably the biggest test so far for Max.

Fuck it, we win it again, second star here we come.

We should not ignore Lazio, it's early but they had a really good start and let's not forget what Sarri made at Chelsea and Napoli in the past... i see them stronger then Roma, i don't trust Mourinho. Btw could be finally a really interesting derby della capitale this season!

How come has their depth been worse? In quantity Juve only swap Ronaldo -> Kean and Demiral -> Rugani. Beside that they bring Locatelli, Pellegrini and Kaio Jorge for more choices, while keeping the rest.

Comparing to Inter, for backup we only slightly increase it with Dzeko (“vice Lukaku”). The other 4 (Correa, Hakan, Dimarco, Dumfries) are direct replacement for starters (Lukaku, Eriksen, Young, Hakimi).

I don't expect Atalanta to be as good as last few seasons. If Inzaghi can ensure we are consistent against the smaller teams, then we should be favourites.

They're worse because Kean and Rugani are worse than Ronaldo and Demiral. Kaio Jorge is an unknown and i doubt he will play much as he has Morata and Kean ahead of him. Locatelli is a great addition but for the starting lineup. He simply pushes to the bench yet another of their underperforming midfielders. Juventus addition for wingback is De Sciglio who isn't really anything to envy Juventus for. Allegri doesn't rate Pellegrini and he wanted to send him on loan but the player refused to leave. I don't see how you consider Dzeko a slight increase over Pinamonti but ok.
