Milan. Because they cannot spend a dime after July if they don't reach CL.

SKY says Piatek to Genoa is a done deal™ for €35m plus bonuses or counterparts. As cafe said, the deal should've been €50m. But typical fucking Genoa are not only giving Milan their prize jewel for a good price, they're also taking some of Milan's utter trash off their hands like Bertolacci and Halilovic if I'm not mistaken.

I would love to see how Milan ends up after all this bullshit with them, Berlusconi, Yonghong Li, Elliott, FFP, whatever settlement agreement they end up signing and their UEFA ban which was overturned etc. I hope they somehow get relegated. That'd be a nice surprise. It feels like us and Roma are the only 2 teams on the fucking continent respecting FFP/SA.

Sky Italia: Krzysztof Piatek to AC Milan, done deal! Agreement reached for €35M to be paid immediatly to Genoa, 5 years contract to the player. No other players into the deal.

:)

Yes, there's no need to overhype them, they still lost one of the top Serie A strikers this transfer window.

What I am more amazed with is how Gattuso is liked by the team. Nobody is throwing temper tantrums despite all these years of mediocre football and stains in reputation because of frauds like Li or morons like F&M at the helm of the club or UEL exit in pretty humiliating fashion. Also, Conti recovered and he looks pretty good already with one assist.

Also, just how incredibly lucky are they? Even people like Borini or Bakayoko regularly perform well, the latter is close to his old self from Monaco. 4th place after 20 games without Biglia and Bonaventura is pretty respectable. I'd still give Roma edge over them though and if we continue to play like piece of shit we can suddenly become the participants of that scrap for 4th place.

I am more worried if they buy Kouame or Bergwijn for instance. Or any other positions except striker and RW.

Those two guys offer different qualities that their team really lack of, and can create something out of nothing. On the other hand, Piatek excels exactly what Cutrone has, just atm better. If they are complaining about not sufficient service for Higuain, well, with Piatek it would be even worse.

milan is coming back strong tbh. they are coming for that cl spot/ paqueta, conti, suso are all strong. bakayoko is getting back in his groove. calhanoglu is maybe not that good under pressure but a huge fk threat. they have a good defense and now with piatek if he can click with rest of the bilan attack...

i honestly dont see much weakness in their game.

I just knew somebody would write something like this and people would dismiss it even tho we are kinda shit right now.

Milan is doing smart business and that's down to the new owners being screwed businessmen. They went back on the agreement to buy higuain but that was predictable as soon as Elliot were involved. It's like making a deal with the devil, they will rise up the ranks but Elliot will eventually cash in and milk Milan of everything they can but I see them doing better than you guys if they manage to replace gattuso with a decent coach

Smart business? Piatek had 6 months at the highest level and Milan splashed 35 million on him in a position where they already have Cutrone.

35mil for a young striker is peanuts in today's market, and don't forget they saved the millions they had to pay for higuain loan, got rid of his 9mil salary and saved a further 35 they should have paid for him. Also I expect Elliot to sell one of Piatek or Citrine for twice that amount in a couple of years while saving 55mil for higuain on a player with no resale value.

How is that not smart business?

Nobody said it s not smart business but it s still very risky. Dont forget while they save around 14.5 mio on this deal they also downgrade from a borderline wc striker to one who had half a great season.

Like i dont rate higuain that high but ATM higuain> piatek the best thing about this deal for bilan is that they could keep piateks salary at 2 mio so that if he flops they may still get rid of him.

I think it's really good business tbh. I think higuain is great and has been underrated for many years, but now a days he does seem to have turned in to some fatso who doesn't seem to give a shit anymore. While that genoa guy is probably nowhere near as talented as him could end up been better in the long run just by been younger much fitter and hungry for goals.

Yes the guy above my post, one I was responding to, said it's not smart business. And they didn't save 14 they saved 19mil+9mil higuain wage +resale value of Piatek.

Also with the level Milan is at and their expectations this and next year swapping higuain for Piatek doesn't make much of a difference. If Milan manage to make a couple of signings that provide service to their attackers I think they just won the mercato.

Exactly. Also higuain didn't get fat, he stopped receiving service at Milan. Put him in Genoa and he'd be up there with ronaldo and Quag with the number of goals scored.

They still lost 15 million (10 loan, 4.5 on wages) on Higuain and paid 35 million for an unproven striker when they don't really need a striker.

It's not smart business, it's fucking up and then trying urgently to fix it.

Milan told Piatek he needs to earn the no 9, legends like Andre Silva and Lapadula donned the shirt

Yes the guy above my post, one I was responding to, said it's not smart business. And they didn't save 14 they saved 19mil+9mil higuain wage +resale value of Piatek.

What where are those numbers coming from? Then again i should not be surprised that a jubentino can not calculate when they cant even count how many titles they won.
First of they saved half of his loan plus half of his salary plus taxes so that 9 mio for the loan fee plus his salary plus taxes which is 9.5 so we are at 18.5 mio.
Now we subtract piateks half season wages plus taxes (2m) and his ammortization costs for half a season which should be at 3.5 mio. So the end calculation is 18.5- 5.5 which leads us to savings of 13mios. And yes i know i was still off with the 14 mio in my first post.
But fact remains when you calculate it right milan saved around 13 mio by replacing Higuain with Piatek, Which by all means is not bad but it s nowhere close to the number bbilan fans mention.

Anyone know who's playing home/away for the Coppa Italia quarter final or when that is being decided?

Piatek is a one season wonder. I gotta hand it to Prerozi. He knew when to cash in unlike Loitito and Torino president with their one season wonders. The pressure at Milan will crush Piatek and he will end up half the player he was at the start of the season.
