i find it weird that no one really has Croatia going far, even tho they perform great in tournaments for like the last 10 years... I wouldn't be shocked if they get another medal.
Is Perisic fit?

Yea, after these last couple of games i dont have high hopes for italy. I think both Spain and Croatia are playing much better at the moment... and the attack is still the problem, so idk if Frattesi can save them every game.

Hope i am wrong and they once again win it all, but yea, my hopes are real low.

The albania game will be the important sleeper game in my opinion. I know the direct match ups against spain/croatia are obviously 1st/2nd place deciders too, but still. The albania game has to the 3 point game, spain and croatia are going to be a pain in the ass. Italy will not pull off a 9pt group stage like in 2020, I'd like for it to happen but I don't think Italy will. Get 3 points against albania, and hope spain/croatia tie and we get a win and draw against them ( i.e. tie spain, beat croatia).

If Italy doesn't beat Albania they're getting eliminated at the group stage. The target has to be four points. Beat Albania, draw Croatia or Spain. You're not beating both of them.

You know, I get mixed emotions/thoughts when I think of that Italy team, or past teams like in the 90's - mid 2000's. In my opinion I would trade 2006 for the world cups Italy should have won in 90,94 and the euro 2000 which was thrown away ( I think it was totti's error in midfield that allowed france to tie, but I could be mistaken). I see a great team for sure, but I also see an alternate reality where Italy has 5 world cups and 2 euros with 1990-2000 being dubbed the "Italian Decade". Serie A teams succeeded, but Italy didn't and watching some of those games I'd ask myself "With these players, we barely beat nigeria or ireland, or whoever. What is going on?"

I think there was an air of complacency/satisfaction while Germany,France,Portugal,England observed, learned and built up solid youth systems. Sure Italy won euro 2020, but I think many of us want a team that is always competitive and can expect to make deep runs, even if we don't win we enjoy the journey. Germany isn't that great right now but you know they are going to come back, England lost to Italy in 2020 which I think has motivated them and they look decent in my opinion, and Spain, sure they aren't like they were in late 2000'- early 2010's but still they are competitive. France is strong as well, Portugal too.

Sometimes you just wonder what could have been, and how the situation was allowed to get this bad. *Looks at moggi*, well actually I have some ideas about that...

We'll see. Since Italy is the national version of "Pazza Azzuri Amala", you never know. Yeah for sure, Albania has to be 3 points otherwise it's over. I say "tie spain/beat croatia" which could happen, but is unlikely. 5 points would be an acceptable/likely scenario, W albania T spain T Croatia. I just don't see Croatia/Spain losing or tie to Albania, so that's why I say beat croatia(or spain) which willl be extremely difficult but at least Italy would go through.

Although, if it was like in a FIFA video game. Italy lose all 3 games, Spalletti fired and INZAGHI is hired and Italy wins again! (I know I'm delusional but it never stopeped me before). INZAGHI wins with Inter an Italy and all is well with the world.
