No Di Gregorio?

This is the least hateable Italian team I can remember. Disappointed.

Only Chiesa left to seriously hate. But I'm sure I will find few new ones once tournament start.

Jesus, just realized in what group they are. Might even cheer for them. What a time to be alive...

Chiesa and Bare are our best players honestly. And the funny thing is that a lot of people hate Barella because of he's behavior. Chiesa and Barella could probably take part of a high diving competition :awyeah: personally i hate Donnarumma Orsolini and Fagioli.

Pretty happy with defense

I think players like rovella, locatelli, colpani deserve a call up for midfield and not cristante or jorginho or fagioli, the team deff need a spot for tonali whenever he can return.

attack is nice, though i wouldnt mind seeing old man berardi one more time, or poor injury prone sottil is still a potential star, real shame we will be missing zaniolo i think he is a difference maker.

That was really uneccesary, Ataltanta is already qualyfied for the CL, they could have rested Scalvini.

Scalvini was never going to play meaningful minutes.
Acerbi being absent would have probably given him some opportunities to prove himself. It’s definitely not ideal.

Although Italy always play their best with their backs up against the wall— so really it’s coming together nicely…

Personally I would go with Darmian - Buongiorno - Bastoni as the backline. Possibly Di Lorenzo over Darmian, depending on what Spalletti chooses to do at RWB.

I'm not worried about the defense, though. This whole thing boils down to whether Retegui or Scamacca can be in good form for two weeks.

What position do you think Spalleti will play? I personally hope it's 3-5-2 and not 3-4-3. 3-4-3 will restrict Dimarco ability to go forward freely.

I could see a 3-5-2 with Raspadori and Chiesa alternating as the supporting striker. There aren't nearly as many good wingers around as there was three years ago.

So now Spalletti is playing 3 back? When did he say that? Thats good anyway, but at this point scalvini was a really good option tbh.

He did say it's something that he's gonna try

Also, the last 2 games, they played 3-4-2-1/3-5-2 depending on how you see the game. I think the line up should be this :

Donarumma
Darmian Boungiorno Bastoni
Bellanova Jorginho Barella Dimarco
Pellegrini Chiesa
Scamacca

Bellanova is purely for his speed and I would have picked dilorenzo but Darmian is solid defensively so that should give Bellanova more freedom to go forward, be it useful or not.

All in all, I feel much better now that Scamacca started to perform, seeing Retegui leading Italy's front line made me cry. And for the love of God, don't let Jorginho take the PK, let Scamacca take them.

I doubt it's gonna be 3-5-2. Spalletti is strongly against system with two forwards.

Not rooting for Croatia?

I know you have your issues with Modric but surely that's not reason enough to root against your national team?

2 friendlies (vs Turkey and Bosnia) before Euro starts. Would be interesting to see who's in the pecking order for forwards and RWB.

Certainly not till he is gone if ever again. Hope this is the last one for him and Vida. Petković can go too.

Also not rooting against so far. Just neutral. Key words: so far.

There are many new players recently that I don't have opinion about. Which is good.

i find it weird that no one really has Croatia going far, even tho they perform great in tournaments for like the last 10 years... I wouldn't be shocked if they get another medal.
