- weather, for the most part. we get an actual summer and an actual winter.
- job market. in my line of work, DC is by far the best place for jobs
- friends/family are close by
- really like the areas immediately outside the city like arlington/alexandria/bethesda/silver spring/etc. Plenty to do w/o all the downside of going into downtown DC

Dislikes
- traffic. not LA/NY bad, but still shitty
- housing prices. have to move farther and farther out from the city to afford a decent place.
- sports teams all sucking. I still root for LA teams since that's where I was as a kid, but I pull for the DC teams as well. Unfortunately for the most part they've massively sucked for the past 20 years.

I think the Nationals are telling you otherwise. Even though it's just baseball.

1) Have you ever been to Italy?

No. It's really been more of a logistics issue recently. My girlfriend is a teacher, so she has summers off, but it's hard for her to get a lot of time off during the school year when Inter is actually playing. Current plan is to go for a week during her Spring break. Hopefully next year.

Rossi said:
2) Favourite movie?

Good question. Don't have a favorite, but after a quick look at my netflix history, here's the ones I've rated '5 stars'...

Godfather I/II
Bourne Series
City of God
Inside Man
Coming to America
Uni Rape Mix 2009
Lock,Stock / Snatch
Leon the Professional
Silence of the Lambs
History of Violence / Eastern Promises
Office Space

Rossi said:
3) Favourite sport to watch other than football?

NFL. Watch it all the time. Multiple fantasy leagues, pickem leagues, etc. Love the RedZone channel. I have Redskins season tickets, but typically only go to a couple games a year. I watch college football as well. I watch less and less NBA every year. The regular season is borderline unwatchable, and the playoffs last approximately 8 months, completely taking away any sort of exciement or momentum from game to game. I watch college basketball more than NBA at this point, and of course love March madness. I don't watch too much hockey, but will tune in come playoff time. Don't really like baseball at all.

Rossi said:
4) Speak any other languages?

Not really. I speak a little bit of Spanish. I've been trying to pick up some more Italian, just by teaching myself. Even downloaded Rosetta Stone, but haven't done it regularly enough to pick up much.

Rossi said:
5) Your favourite Inter bust in recent memory? For instance, my favourite is Jonathan. So much class, I blame Ranieri for wasting him.

Jonathan is probably my favorite current bust as well tbh. Favorite to hate on that is. I was hating on that dude before the signing was even official. But he wasn't expensive, and he doesn't play enough to actually hurt us, so it's good natured hate, not actual hate.

Mancini getting arrested for rape has put him a bit higher on my list.

Biabiany & Zarate would be among my favorites except they're forever linked to the sales of Balo & Eto'o.

List some Inter 'flops' (or players who didn't succeed at Inter) that you have the most regrets about.
By 'regrets', I'll take that to mean players I actually liked and thought would be better, or that could have been better. As opposed to the flops that were idiotic signings, or that I always hated.

Georgatos, episode II. I was a big fan of his. He was Greek, he came from Olympiacos and he was fun to watch. A buddy of mine from Greece was a huge Olympiacos fan, a member of the GATE 7 ultras group. So, he would always talk about Georgatos when he joined Inter. He was great in his first stint here, whipping in crosses to Vieri from the left. But, then he went back to Olympiacos for a year (he was homesick I believe). I was excited when he came back, but he wasn't half the player he was before. Couldn't do anything right.

Adriano. This one is self-explanatory.

Dalmat. I probably liked him more than most. I thought he had potential, just couln't really put it together.

Kanu. Not really sure if he counts as a bust, and Inter might have saved his life tbh, but I always thought it was a shame that he barely played here and then went on to do well at Arsenal.

Mutu. Another one that's not really a bust, but never really got a chance here and then Parma got the Abramovich money for him.

Jimenez. Thought he'd do better. Even when he played, I didn't think he played poorly, just didn't really fit in with what we were doing at the time. Apparently playing in Dubai now, didn't know that.

Rosina. Has nothing to do with Inter, but fuck you this is my thread. He just popped into my head for some reason. Rosinaldo. Loved, loved, loved this dude at Torino. Was really upset that no Serie A team went for him when he left Torino for Russia. Was even more upset when my Spalletti/Rosina fantasy didn't really work out like I thought it would.

unisex said:
Do you have much faith in Strama? Why / Why not?
No, not really. It's not that I have anything against him, he's just very inexperienced so I'm taking more of a 'I'll believe it when I see it' approach. I was never really a fan of giving him the full time job in the first place. I'd be just as skeptical with any coach with similar (lack of) experience. The only reason I may hold out a little bit more hope for Strama than your average youth coach is that he's said he learned a lot form Spalletti from their time together at Roma. And I love me some Spalletti.

Favourite Inter jersey over the years?

Off the top of my head, my favorite combo would probably be something along the lines of...

home 09-10 My view of this shirt is probably biased due to it being the treble kit and the fact that the following year we had those zig-zag monstrosities.
images

away 07-08 Different, interesting, clean, smaller sposnor, represented 100 years of Inter. My only complaint was that I think the Pirelli logo might have looked better under the Nike logo as opposed to the Inter badge, but that's being picky.

How and when did you start supporting Inter? (surprised no ones asked this yet tbh )

Boring really. Jumped on the Ronaldo bandwagon in 96/97 along w/ everyone else, but didn't know too much about European club football at the time. So, when he joined Inter I adopted them as my team. Saw the highlights from his first match when Recoba had those 2 ridiculous goals and was like :notbad:

unilateral said:
Your best Inter XI from since you started supporting Inter?

JC
Maicon-Bergomi-Samuel-JZ
Cambiasso-Simeone
Baggio
Ronaldo-Ibra-Eto'o

By no means a balanced, realistic lineup, but fuck it. Vieri, Deki, Cordoba, Zamorano, Toldo, Sneijder, Milito, Veron, Recoba would be among the subs. Along with a couple probably obvious oversights I made.

Who would crown as the "Vice-Vasilios" ??

Who would you identify as the Anti-Vasilios?

What powers would/does Vasilios the superhero have?

If you were to match up the CL winning Inter lineup to FIF members, who would they be? Why?

Why does it burn when I pee?

What would you do if you came across Uniballs in a dark alley?

Which forum member do you think would make a good ball boy?

Why have I had a big bunch of blank CDs sitting on my desk for the last 7 years?

What's the 'V' stand for in your name?

Why do you have to turn left to turn right?

What's the difference between 28 and 30?

Why does snakevicius have such a hard-on for dyna?

Why does Vito never thank a post?

- Give your truthful / unbiased / personal opinion on calciopoli as if you were explaining it to someone who didn't know anything about it.
- Hypothetically, if you could have one retired player play (in his prime) for Inter today, who would it be?
- out of our 'youths' (<21yr olds) who do you have the most hope for?
- How do you think Ranocchia will turn out?
- Hypothetically, if you could buy any player in the world who is valued at or under €15mil, who would it be?

I know these are very hypothetical questions but bear with me.

The search is still on. N4L was too expensive. Rossi wouldn't take a bench role. I4E's too old. Uni didn't have the right 'characteristics'. Willy was non-EU. We're still taking applications. Potential applicants should provide relevant experience, nude photos, along with a generous donation. Though if anyone gets a hold of the Minka Kelly sex tape and sends that in with their application, then they automatically win.

Daisy Duke said:

As everyone knows, my posts are always brimming with wit and brilliance, and every post has a purpose. So with that said, the anti-vasilios would be behemooooooooth.

Mind control. Always choose mind control.

George Duke said:

Based on the lineup from the final...

JC: Michael. Backbone of the team.
Maicon: Universe. Raped by Gareth Bale.
Lucio: dyna. No reason at all. They were both in Germany I guess. Whatever, fuck off.
Samuel: The Wall. Easy.
Chivu: Ana. Exhibit 1. Exhibit 2.
JZ: Handoyo. Boss of bosses.
Cambiasso: N4L. Relies on tactical knowledge to break down enemy attacking moves [idiotic posts]
Sneijder: Hal. #10. Spends more time in the gym than on the pitch.
Pandev: Pajo. Goraninho Pandevaldo
Eto'o: Dino. Forever Il Leone :alone:
Milito: Vito. Italian backgrounds, and because Vito Milito would be a bad ass name.
-----------------------------
Toldo: I4E. Oldest player in the squad. Seen it all.
Cordoba: Cafe. Easy again.
Materazzi: blackmore. Master at provoking.
Deki: That's Unpossible. Doesn't score [post] often, but when he does it's usually epic.
Muntari: Hamsun. Sent off in just 2 minutes.
Mariga: Cal. Only because Mariga's brother plays for Celtic. Whatever, fuck off again.
Balotelli: Suneet. Huge fan of Mario, just like Mario himself.
-----------------------------
Quaresma: Leo. Grew up idolizing Figo.
Arnautovic: Stefan. Rarely makes an appearance.
-----------------------------
Motta: Azz. Key player but banned.

An able bodied young lad eager for balls? I think we're accepting applications for that as well tbh. Applicants should contact Suneet.

Fritz the Cat said:

Maybe the same reason I have.

music -> mp3 player
everything else -> DVD's
nothing at all -> CD's

Cotton Fitzsimmons said:
What's the 'V' stand for in your name?

Vasilios. The V in Vasilios stands for Vasilios. So, the proper spelling is really Vasiliosasilios.

Larry Fitzgerald said:
Why do you have to turn left to turn right?

3 lefts equals a right. Or something like that.

Ryan Fitzpatrick said:

Decency and self respect? But really, I'm with Zeman on this one. Even 28 is too many.

My personal opinion is that the whole thing was a fucking disaster and a huge black eye for Serie A. In general I don't like discussing it because debating it with Juve fans is akin to repeatedly punching one's self in the nuts. And discussing it with Inter fans isn't much better, because they tend to be just as biased, refusing to acknowledge any possibility of any wrongdoing on our part, or on the part of the FIGC and the entire process in general.

My basic feelings are that Moggi was obviously into some shady shit. That shit is not really disputable, even by the most brainless Juve fans. I do think everything was very convenient for Inter and that we definitely played a role in bringing the scandal to light, and also in what wasn't brought to light. I also don't particularly give a fuck about the scudetto we were awarded, and think all the 'scudetto of honesty' stuff was over the top. But, in this case I think the ends probably justify the means. I think the entire thing was poorly handled from the beginning, and that they couldn't really prove everything that went on, but everyone knew what the deal was. And that's not really even getting into GEA and all the shady dealings and undue influence that provided. But basically, fuck Juve, fuck Moggi, and fuck Juve again.

inverse said:

Any player or a past Inter player? I'm also going to ignore all players from before my time. So no Facchetti, Pele, whoever.

Inter:
Ronaldo. Easy choice. A striker w/ pace, power, ball control skills and finishing skills. Closest thing we've had recently is Eto'o who carried the whole team on his back.

Non-Inter:
Maradona. Kind of cheating, as I was pretty young during his best years, but he was unstoppable.
Rivaldo. His peak didn't last all that long, but from like 98-01 he was awesome.

reverse said:
- out of our 'youths' (<21yr olds) who do you have the most hope for?

Coutinho is the obvious choice, and the correct one as well. Besides him though, I'd probably say Mbaye. Maybe. He's very young but didn't look too out of place with the senior squad. His temperament seems like it could be an issue, but again, he's so damn young that I'm not really worried about it. Bessa should probably be up there, but for whatever reason I'm not all that convinced he'll be special at the next level. It's so tough to judge youth players against other youth players and try to extrapolate that. Longo, Livaja, Duncan etc. All of them are clearly talented, but tbh none of those would shock me if they completely fell off the face of the Earth after a few years. I think Obi is 21, not under, but I have relatively high hopes for him. A rotational player who can start on occasion. The kind of player you'd give a '6' in our Players & Coaches poll. And to me, that would be a successful outcome.

diverse said:

Nesta's heir? I think he'll come good as long as we can put up with some growing pains this season and can find a halfway competent partner for him. But I think it's pretty much now or never for him. He'll be 25 by the end of the season, hardly a youngster. It's time that he consistently puts together some solid performances, which I do think he can. Don't think he'll ever live up to his price tag, but that's more our fault than his.

Speaking of Nesta, going back a couple questions, having a prime Nesta would be pretty fucking awesome as well. Playing next to one of the greatest to every play the position would do wonders for Rano.

I've been on the Banega bandwagon for a while and I doubt he'd cost more than 15mil at this point. He can pass, he can win the ball, he's still only 24 and he's been performing at a high level in Europe for years now. I like him more than Sahin. We would need to hire him a driver though. Dude has had some shitty luck with cars.

Dembele's another player I like who Spurs just signed for around 15mil I think. Versatile player, good passer, can play CM, can play further out, as well as more advanced role since he used to be a striker. Plus, he's been in many of my PES ML teams.
