Luka, I think you're one of the best posters here, even though I don't think I agree with you when it comes to Mourinho. I don't normally ask football related questions in the interviews thread but I'm gonna buck the trend here.
Thanks for the complement. I think there are many, many good posters here.
1) When do you think is going to be the right time to judge Mourinho? (After 2 years, the same amount of time we gave Mancini, after 1 season, etc etc)
2) What would you consider as a success under the Mourinho era? (eg, we made it to the CL semis, lost on Scudetto but challenged till the end, etc)
That is all for now.
1) I think that's fair.
I got really pissed of at Mancini, after Valencia (away) game, not Villareal games. It was the time, I've started to think, our tendency won't change ever.
But nothing is fixed. You know, if next year, we'll start with 10 looses, it can "fast forward" our evaluation. What I want to see, is change in a team on a proffesional level(respect to the coach/team), mental level(not afraid of away games), and media level(not being bullied by the media).
Ofcourse the results have to go with it. What I want to see is a progress in our European games at most, as we all know we are the strongest team in Serie A, and we just have to win it. As for CL, I won't be angry if we'll loose in CL say 1/8, or 1/4, but we have to give the other team, hell on their own turf. I want us to show appropriate mental approach for the away game. Obviously, if we'll loose to some minows, like "Villareal" like it won't do.
2) I didn't realise, I mostly answered the second question with the first one hehe
Well, as I've said, what I mostly want is the visable progress of the team, in the "Big games". And those big games are the away games in CL to heavy teams(mostly). Loosing Serie A, would be a tough pill to swallaw, but if it would be under some very unfortunate turn of events for us, and by some very small margin, I think I could live with it, AS LONG, as I would see a progress in the team. Just like Mancini took the team, and took it to another level, I want to see the same with Jose.
Few questions here:
1. Why did you change your nickname from 'lukair' to 'Luka'?
2. You used to post here when you first joined the forums, then you disappeared for a relatively long time, then came back again. Why were you not here for that long, and what made you come back?
3. What's the deal with that solar eclipse in your previous avatar?
4. How come your 'Quote of the week' is being altered only once every year?
5. Inter-related question: What happened to Inter? Mourinho was supposed to be an improvement over Mancini. All I see is Inter in the 4th place behind Milan, which never happened with Mancini's Inter (post-calciopoli). Whose fault is that? is it Mourinho? is it the players? or is it the fact that Serie A became insanely stronger than expected? if so, then why Milan are a head of us? why are they stronger than us this year?
1. I changed my nickname in Polish message boards also, but it's "weird" in english, so had to think of something else. Luka was the first thing that came to my mind.
2. What a memory Adnan!!! Yes you're very correct. The answer is very simple. Lack of time.
I went to US for a year to work for college money, and I just didn't have time for the board. I came read from time to time, but didn't have enough time to participate enough. When I came back to Poland, the problem went away, and so I reappeared
3.
Black and white are my favourite collours. It's origin is ofcourse the "Depeche Mode" culture. I wanted something in those colors, I was thinking about it for some time, and I came once to a similar picture. When I wanted to change the avatar I remembered that.
4. Hahaha. You're very observant
To be honest... that is something I've used to do many, many years back in Polish speedway forums.
I actually changed it from time to time, and usually it was a week time or something close to it. This is a left over from those times. This signature I had for a very very long time, and it's just sentimental. I didn't want to change it's "look"
The quotes were actually "phylosophical" quotes, that I just love. Maybe I'll do it again, although I don't have as much time as I've used to, so it can be hard.
But I'm glad you reminded me of it !
5. That's a very good question. The way I see it, it is partly all those things you've put.
1st let's not forget Jose is a new coach to Inter, and also a new to Italian environment.
If we want to compare his times to Mancinis times, I think it is only fair, to compare the similar parts of their Inter carear, that is the beggining. I don't believe Mancini was doing so well at the beginning. (Of course I'm not denying the fact, the squad we have now is so much stronger).
2nd Calciopoli.
Liked it or not, I hate it too, but who are we kidding? We all know, it had (at least) a little do with how well we did since. It gave us not only physical, but also psychological advantage over other teams. And I won't lie if I'll say, it DID help Mancios carear. We all know, it would be hell of a different not Calciopoli occured.
3rd What happened to Inter?
We are not in a great moment/form. I agree to that. But form is a very relevant thing. What is good about it, is that it changes. Milan was doing very bad, while now they are as we hear, doing "great". Why it can't happen with us?
IMO, We are doing "below" of what we can do, Milan and Jube are doing "over", and Roma is also doing "below", of what they can do.
I honestly believe it is way to early, to say a phrase like that. Lets not forget, we are playing bad, without flair, with bad deffense... and all that... and just look.
We are top of CL group(weak, but still top), and we're only 1 point of the top of Serie A. So think, what will happen, if we'll go out of this moment, when we "are playing bad, without flair, with bad deffense".
4th Jose improver over Mancini.
You can't honestly try to review that, over 3/4 months of work of Jose here. Mancini had 3 years, we have to be fair, and give Jose "at least" a little more time. That was the problem with us in the first era of MM reign. New coach, and impatience. We have to be patient. I'm very confident the results will come.
5th Serie A BECAME stronger than expected - that's a fact.
So why Milan is ahead of us? Why are they stronger than us?
Who says they are? All I see is Milan in front of us, but 2 weaks ago, it was us at the top, or close. We already have seen Napoli, Udinese in front of us and on top. Does this justify calling those teams better?
It's just a moment of a season, just a period of a better form for one team, or worse for another. The season is won over 38 weeks, not 7, 8. Milan is in better form right now, that's fair. But what's not fair, is cutting our chances to show we are better over whole season, to 7, 8 weeks.
6th "All I see is Inter in the 4th place behind Milan, which never happened with Mancini's Inter (post-calciopoli). Whose fault is that? is it Mourinho? is it the players?"
I honestly believe, if Mancini stayed, we would be already in a place, where Roma is right now. I mean Konko, Hleb, Inler(the only good player)? WTF. Not to mention our psychological, and his, state. And also, how Roma almost "got us" last year. This year, the league is INSANELY Different than last year, everybody can see that, who is following Serie A, week in, and week out.
I don't believe it's anybodys fault. Because we're still 1 point from the top, and we have still like 30 weeks to go. The fun time begins in April/May, not in October/Novemeber. Arsenal was playing insanely good at the beggining of last year, if I remember correctly, and what good it brought to them? Man Utd, on the other hand started slow, but they've reached peak in the months it counts, and soe they have won both CL, and EPL.
I would be worried, if we were in Roma's shoes at the moment, but we're not. We are playing not convincengly, "bad", without flair, and we're still JUST 1 point from the top. The way I see it, I'm not that worried as you guys are.
I'm staying positive.
