It's precisely like that.

We need to also remember we made a big overhaul in our squad already. Some continuity isn't bad and as said, it's usually just more expensive to sign new players than extend the current ones.

Our starting 11 got younger though. And look at Manchester United. You can spend a few hundred mil and still suck.

In fairness we still have the oldest average age in the league, but it does feel like we've made some significant improvements

Yann , Cuads, Arnautovic, Sanchez are all quick fix and take the average age abit higher, 28 with these oldies are still a good number. Milan can have 25-26ish, but whats the point if you can't even score a goal in derbies

Yeah, old players are not an issue at all in my books. It's not like we base our game on them. Maybe in the defence it's a bit on the older side, but with Pavard we are already shifting it a bit while Bastoni is a core player.
