- We totally controlled the game. All the high press and dynamic play they usually do, just didn't happen because we controlled it.
- The ref was a pos. Missed fouls, missed yellows, bad offside calls. Really felt like we were playing farca or juve or something.
- Tottenham literally had 1 chance that Kane fucked up by trying to round Handa. Their goal was the definition of fucking luck with the deflection.

Happy for Icardi on his debut and Vecino saying fuck all the haters.

Oh and candreva making the CL list is a total travesty. Very disgusted by that decision. He's finished.

Still cannot realize how terrible that Tottenham defence was in the Vecino goal.

The set piece is essentially split into two areas:
Area A: This is where the balls goes from Candreva's corner. We have de Vrij, Skriniar and Miranda. Three center backs, who are typically considered dangerous for set pieces. And de Vrij in particular is known for being an aerial threat on both ends
Tottenham's response? Just three people on them. And I think it's Eric Dier on de Vrij who simply stares at the incoming ball and has no clue where Il Muro Nuovo is. Basically you'd expect higher concentration in both the mental aspect but also in terms of people. Tottenham was left naked here.

Area B: We have another three players here. It's Vecino, Icardi and I think the other one is Keita Balde. They have three players man marking these people and three spare ones right in front of the GK. All concentrated in that area, expecting a cross in the first post.
They have zero players sitting on the line and there is no one in the second post, while we have Valero lurking outside the area on the other side and they have Eriksen sitting on the edge of the area, centrally, but on the other side of where our spare attacker is. If it were D'Ambrosio instead of Valero there, you'd expect him to make a run in the second post, being all free.

Now what Tottenham does is... Ball goes to Area B, Lucas Moura, one of the three stranded players of Area A, just leaves, while Aurier who man marks Vecino decides there's no point anymore and Vecino is free, between 4 Tottenham players who cannot reach him. And of course de Vrij gets a free header.

There's like 6 defensive mistakes there. And this team is supposed to be the 2nd best oiled machine in the Premier League after Man City.
For those who can't count:
1) Setup mistake #1, three players doing nothing in front of the keeper
2) Setup mistake #2, bad judgement of who the main offensive threat is (the 3 CBs)
3) Setup mistake #3, we have a free player on the other side of the pitch and they have an additional 4th player, doing nothing, sitting at a very wrong spot.
4) Man marker leaves de Vri unattended.
5) Defensive player abandons his post like his life depended on it, even crushed onto Miranda while running away from the situation.
6) Man marker leaves Vecino unattended.

This was really amateur stuff. And thank fuck for that.

i'd switch our main formation to 3-5-2 just to have miranda skriniar and devrij at setpieces add to them icardi peresic and vecino. that should be our main plan from now on get as many set pieces as we can all of our players are tall and good with their heads; let politano feeds them

Seeing English pundits and media having a stroke anytime their idea of English Superiority is challenged is almost as good as a UCL win, in itself.

At least this game will give us some momentum in the league. God knows these pussies need it. To me Spurs are still favourites to go through, but who knows, if we can somehow pull a draw away, we might go through to Round of 16.

Still the most important thing is making the CL again, not going to the Round of 16.

I think we played decently, we pressed them high as I said against teams who play footballl we can do better but we did make some silly mistakes in their half and should have been more incisive when we had opportunities.

The second half subs were ridiculous (at least at the time), Candreva cannot play on the left but it seems that Perisic wasn't a 100% and plus at least Candreva can take a decent corner which led to the goals.

Vecino and Brozo were excellent, let's beat PSV in Eindhoven!

It was such a poetic way to win thought Lazio taking off Immobile, Tottenham taking off Kane and then BOOM!

85 minutes of trash followed by 10 minutes of brilliance, couldn't be more Inter.

Naturally I'm ecstatic with those final 10 minutes, but anyone would be irresponsible to simply ignore what preceded it. Tottenham's attack for much of the second half felt like one of those games where a team is 3-0 up and attacking lazily. If Moura and Lamela had been more clinical in these moments, and not attacking half-assed like the game was over, we might've been in trouble. Especially with Skriniar surprisingly and recklessly going at Moura on the flank and getting burned numerous times.

As for #laprendevecino, he deserves as much credit for his involvement in the two goals as he does criticism for the 85 minutes of bullshit before it. He shows again that when a game has opened up and there's more space, that he can sometimes make good use of his dribbling and running forward with the ball - just as he showed again the opposite, that when a game is tight and compact, that he's largely useless. In terms of contrast, he and Icardi had very similar games.

And once again we arrive at this point where some will say "fuck the haters" and others might point out that playing like that for 90% of a match is unsustainable. I got what I wanted, which was for this CL match to give us a kick start. Let's see how, or if, the team carries this momentum forward.

Describing it as thrash is a bit much, don't think we allowed Tottenham to create much our approach was positive, we pressed them high and forced a lot of mistakes.

It wasnt a bad game as you say, the opponent was Tottenham, one of the best teams in England. Tottenham hadnt shine at all. And that was, because we didnt let them shine!

It wasnt a brilliant game from a technical view but we played defensively solid and made barely mistakes, we couldnt expect more.

First CL game in 7 years vs Tottenham you expected an easy 3:0? :D

and that's why Moura and lamella plays for Tottenham and not for a bigger club they have potential but mentally they are average

That schedule Pimpin posted caught me by suprise, I didn't realize how many tough games we got ahead condensed into such short time window. It's really gonna test the squad properly.

Also, post match interviews with players.
