I agree + the ban should be applied the next time two teams will meet. Current rule makes no sense. It was a terrible tackle, I couldn't understand how Thuram was able to continue. Eventually got subbed because he couldn't play anymore.
To me those kind of tackles should be punishes hard with few match ban AND fines. That would limit players from committing to such reckless acts.
What if you get red carded on the second match of the season on a team that will get relegated the following season?I agree + the ban should be applied the next time two teams will meet. Current rule makes no sense.
Imagine a red card at the end of an Inter match and next match they'll meet Juve...
Save it for the next time they promote. Still make more sense than 100% sure of zero benefit still and help our rivals in the meantime. What if you get red carded on the second match of the season on a team that will get relegated the following season?
Idk I've been waiting Palermo to come back to Serie A for a while (for their jersey mostly). It makes perfect sense to suspend the players the following game, if you wait for few months, players might get injured and do not have to face their suspension. What's dumb is serie A card transferring to supercoppa, but that's another conversation.Save it for the next time they promote. The banned player could get injured the following match too. It might or might not happen, not the point.Idk I've been waiting Palermo to come back to Serie A for a while (for their jersey mostly). The point of suspension is not to "profit" the opposing team but to punish the players. We already profited from getting a free kick and playing against 1 less person on the team. The banned player could get injured the following match too. It might or might not happen, not the point.
So as it stands, what does the damaged team get profit out of that suspension?
We played 70+ minutes with one player more. We possibly won the game because of it. What more should we get? Their next opponent won't play with one player more because of it, only that him won't be able to play. The banned player could get injured the following match too. Not this match specifically, but the rule in general. Some minutes with one extra man isn't enough with brutal challenges which could lead to several matches injury. We played 70+ minutes with one player more. We possibly won the game because of it.
