I think our European joy will be short lived if we do end up finishing 2nd as it would mean facing a big gun in the next round.

Even if we top the group, we could face big guns such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Machester United. I don't mind we end up being 2nd in the group.

It is true that we might end up facing a big team anyway but I would still rather top the group. This was not a hard group to begin with especially considering the way Bayern's season has been going so far. You may not mind finishing second behind a sorry looking Bayern Munich side but if we have any chance of staking a solid claim an European glory then we need to be able to overcome teams like Bayern in their present form.

What are you talking about man? I think something got lost in the translation or whatever but I am not getting what you are trying to point out.

Why the hell are you hoping we draw one of those English teams? Chelsea may be underperforming at the moment but do not let that fool you. An expereinced EPL viewer like yourself should know that it is not going to last for any extended period of time. Mourinho will get them ship shape and own Mancini in a tactical battle with wit and charm to boot.

Same goes for ManU and sir Alex I have been watching them very closely the past few weeks and despite some mediocre results (especailly the loss to Celtic) they could still exploit the flanks while keeping it tight at the back. ManU are more unpredicatable compared to Chelsea in Europe but I still think that we would have a very tough time against them so I would much rather face and easier opponent.

I may not have got your last point but this one is riniging loud and clear my friend. However, reading I have to wonder what is going on in your head. You sound like you are suffering from delusions mate, might want to see a doctor or a shrink about that.

I dont think Chelsea are in a slump, I know they are among the best teams in the world. Thats why I want to face them...I want to play the BEST team, heck id even take Barca.

It has nothing to do with me thinking those epl teams are crap, on the contrary..i want a challenge. To be the best, you have to beat the best.

Agreed, but I think inter are in no position right now to take on any of these big European guns and successfully mount a solid challenge at winning over the two legs.

okay, been on a trip and missed the last two matches, was so nervous about this and didn't know the result until about two hours ago, was sweating like a El Salvadorian horse.

Crespo has scored in both matches that I missed, great to hear because I thought he was in a mini slump. Shame about Cruz, never been a fan but was turning into a big fan of his, I guess Recoba's illness is getting passed around.
Great to see Maicon defending well (from what I've read). I heard Solari had a good game in the league, so very surprised he wasn't even on the bench, hopefully nothing occured between him and the staff.

great win and now for the most important match of the season so far (no not vs Palermo), the match against Bayern, those ****ing cocksuckers deserve payback.

I absolutely agree. Hypotheticly, let's say Inter beat Chelsea or Barcelona and lose the next match. That win will probably be remembered years after. Let's say Inter lose against Chelsea or Barca but put up a good fight. There's no shame in that and i seriously doubt the fans will be pissed off. Disappointed but not angry. Besides, this season should be about taking the scuddetto, everything else is a bonus..

I'd rather face one of the big guns as well. We seem to rise to the level of the competition in recent years. Facing Man Utd, Chelsea or Lyon would be the ultimate challenge. Plus, who wouldn't want to see the look on Sheva's face after we smacked the EPL All-Stars? ;)

Anyway, I didn't see this game so I won't comment on it but it's good to see us finally showing some consistency, both in the league and CL.. Ideally, I'd like to see more goals but 3pts is 3pts no?

Great to see Cuchu back as well!

I hope we get to play against a really good team in the next round, I'm talking about a Lyon, a Chelsea, or even Barcelona, Arsenal... something different! We NEED a big game. The last big opponent we had in the UCL KO stage was Milan! I don't want to verse Milan in the CL! We play them already in the Serie A!

Hopefully we get a really difficult team to face, so it's a BIG game and big enough to make the local TV provider show it as the number 1 game. Hopefully we don't get a mediocre opponent like Werder Bremen, Bordeaux or some other team like those. I want THE BIGGEST OPPONENT POSSIBLE! Then that will get the boys fired up and if we lose, so be it.

I'd rather lose to a huge team in the round of 16 than play a bunch of crap teams and then lose to someone in the semi finals. It's the type of big game we need...

I agree with this....I want to watch a very tough and competitve Inter not inter winning lo scudetto beating teams like messina , livorno , chievo etc.... Ofcourse i 'd want us to win lo scudetto and remove this psychologcial barrier since we haven't won it since very long so thank god juve and milan are in thier current forms but then I want to test our limits and see what we can do and remeber guys Big Teams are born or re-Born by beating strong opponents not weak ones . So i'd focus on Lo scudetto this year and testing our limits in Europe .

Snip of Morati comments after Sporting game

"
Why does Ibrahimovic excite the Nerazzurri fans so much when he plays football?
"There are many players who play so well that it doesn't matter which shirt they're wearing. They are creators of play. Ibrahimovic has these characteristics so he's more entertaining."

Is this a declaration of love for Ibrahimovic?
"No, I can't. Otherwise Recoba will get angry... (smiles)." Halirous isn't it !!!

If we finish first then I guess there's a high possibility of us facing some team like Arsenal, ManU, Barca, Real Madrid etc. This year's CL is going to be a hot race and only the shitty Milan group where we're going to get one sucky team is ruining the show. Otherwise it seems to be all big. (With possibilty Roma, Werder & Celtic/Benfica the almost big one's) (only bad teams would be from H and possibily Shakhtar also)

I didn't watch the game... But I'm satisfied that we won, which most important. And Bayern draw too, so we can challenge for the first place, if we can win against Bayern in Munich.

FORZA INTER!!!

Great game. I don't know what to say, just a great Inter. :star:

As for the next stage, I want a big team, I said this before the group-stage draw.

Same here, i already said that when the draw, even with the risk of Inter getting eliminated, i was happy cause Bayern is a test, first test failed and second test should be not failed.
This time i don't care if we get out in 1/8 or semis, the only thing i want to do in this CL (if we don't win it, difficult thing), it's leave a good image around all the world.
Who cares about the team? Liverpool beat JuBe, Chelsea and Milan to win CL, i don't fear anyone, if we see Chelsea Inter should fight like lions to win, and if we don't win and they deserve to go into the next round cause they have been better OK, the thing i don't want is another vilarreal.
