For those of you who don't know, SPAL were promoted from Serie C to Serie B and Serie B to Serie A in successive seasons. They're located in Ferrera about an hour away from Bologna, and have less than 200,000 residents. Notable players:

• Federico Bonazzoli
• Alberto Paloschi
• Sergio Floccari (yes, that guy)
• Federico Viviani

Bonazzoli of course was once our player, but is now on loan at SPAL from Sampdoria. Paloschi played for Chievo for a decent amount of time, and Viviani at one point was highly regarded as a midfield prospect for Roma. They also have Alex Meret, a GK we have been linked to many times in their squad on loan from Udinese, but he does not start in net for them.

Anything less than 3 points from this fixture would be a massive embarrassment.
