I think it was more 4231(that we trained by all the summer) than 4312.

...............toldo

maicon matrix samuel zanetti

...........vieira cambiasso

deki...........figo.........ibra

...............crespo

ps, why the hell did we sell Pizzaro ?
I don't think so :)

We played with Pizarro as a connector of defense and midfield line. We played still 4-3-3, but just a different variant.

The tactic you showed is too offensive for italian league. It is good for spanish, but not italian. You are forced to often defend only with 6 players, and this is not enough. Deki and Ibra are no wingers. What winger Dejan is you could see last evening :), and Ibra is no winger at all.

I'm 99% sure it was:

-------------- Toldone -----------------

- Maicon -- Materazzi - Samuel - Javier -

------- Vieira - Esteban - Dejan ---------

------------ <-- Luis --> ---------------

--------- Crespo <-> Ibra ---------------

cheers

I was so poor on saturday night that I couldnt go out - so was able to catch this game live on eurosport.

What a game!

Great comeback. Lots of good performances. Ibra still worries me up front though - he wasted so many chances. I have to say i would definately play with crespo and adriano up front.
Ibra is very over-rated in my opinion. Hope he proves me wrong but i think it was a mistake to sign him.

I agree with 433-man (Lukair.)

The one that Mancini used yesterday and is most likely to use is the one with the advanced playmaker, not the deep-lying one.

Like I said in the other thread, we need to get a player that is a playmaker/half-striker type to be a sub for Figo and take a place on the striker hierarchy (replacing Cruz.)

I disagree. I believe Stankovic,Recoba and Solari can play in that position. We have enough subs. Please no more changes. We are fine as we are now.

Yes, there are too many players right now, 7 IN 9 OUT, no more changes please.
If in 1 game there is no Vieira or Cambiasso, we also have Maxwell, who can play in the midfield.

And I agree with you :p

I think Chino can play very well there (you just watch and see :p ), and Santiago can also play there if he must.

I think we're good as we are. Sure it's a shame we lost David, because with him we would be perfect for this set up, but what can you do?

We just have to hope, that our magnificent trio of central campisci (it's that how it's written ? :p ) Dejan - Esteban - Patrick won't get injured, as they were amazing in the second half, I just love it to see how they dominate the midfield.

I mean with them in the middle, and with this set up, we have an enormous power. With our super-trio we can dominate midfield of every game in Serie A, and most of the games in Europe (it would be hard with Chelsea, but not imposible).

Then you have just unbelievable 4 side backs, that can rip opposite wings in every way it is possible.

And with our strike force we have great pottential. You have Crespo, Adriano who are just waiting for a crosses from our great side backs, you have Ibra who can do everything with the ball, and who can go back for the ball, make some excelent first time passes. Then there is Luis who we saw what can do behind the strikers :) He played also great against Lazio last season. Chino will also rock in that position.

I mean we have just perfect players for this set up, and if Mancio will still stick to his 4-4-2 I will personaly flew to Milano and kick his ass :p

Everything has been said about this match, so I just want to do my bit,:D.

Roma came on strong but I think we didn't play bad in the first half, I mean, our defensive phase was pretty weak especially in positioning, but we weren't that bad in the attack (although we didn't score).

If we have players like Samuel and Materazzi we are not going to win in speed, so I think better positioning is a MUST. We lacked a lot of creativity with Figo being stuck in the wing, but we still had 1 or 2 chances, but this was only until Vieira scored, then it was a different game.

In the second half with Figo moving to the middle and with the tiredness of Roma we controlled the game and the goals came naturally. For the rest of the 120 minutes Inter was the only team on the pitch.

But more than the defensive mistakes the spirit shown by the players has to be valued and the boys made us proud.

And a big congratulations to FIGO

Far from that :p Well, not that far.. but still..
What you have written would be pronounced kampiši (like capisci? :D) , while you want it to sound - kampisti..
So the way it is written is simple - campisti..
And I do not think Italians use campisti for anything.. It would be like saying - fielders.. So midfielder=centrocampista..

Man, I'm bad :D

Good comeback but I sincerely hope this won't be a regular occurence during the upcoming season. For the old-timers like Frisko and Hamed, it could lead to early deaths. ;)

Adriano - #10
Fantastic comeback by the men in black and blue. Feels great for the boys to win the Supercoppa. Especially doing it in style, while showing the 4-4-2 isn't as effective as my favorite formation, the 4-3-1-2. I really feel this is the start of one hell of a memorable season for the side.

BTW I'm also pleased especially with Crespo. With Ibra and Crespo in the squad Adriano better damn straigten up or he can ride the bench for a loooong time. I'm more than happy we got Crespo. Ibra still sorta has to prove his worth, but I'm definately liking him more already. lol.

I think that Recoba is just perfect for that position, just can't see better player on that postition in the market right now.

Yes Recoba is a solution for this position, but how many games does he play each season?!

They guy is always injured or absent for vague reasons!

I think Recoba is the next player to leave. He might leave as early as January.

Come on, we have just found a new formation and we are lacking players in the AM position. Why should we get rid of Recoba now? He could be Figo's sub, having him is better than having nothing.

I actually think Mancini is going to try and continue with the 4-4-2. Knowing how idiotic he is. :(

Thats a pretty stupid comment now isnt in Tanel? Mancini knows his team, formation and tactics better then anybody on this board.

not just that, what makes you think that this so called 'idiotic' person will only play 4-4-2? He said he has been trying and is willing to play many formations, especially because his team is very versatile and if 4-4-2 works who are you to judge?

Gee.

It's really clear that best formation is 4312 so Mancini knowes that and I expect really good games from Recoba and Figo on that AM position.
I am sure that this will be season for Recoba.
