exactly, Zamat is right.I bellive the canceled games will be played in some free midweek terms. So the dates of other games including derby will remain the same.

They're not going to do that either.
They'll probably include a midweek fixture like they normally do with postponed games.

Scared huh? :)

I was gonna buy plane tickets for derby tomorrow, but I will wait a bit now

Arrr, shut up. :D

I already bought my plane tix and booked my hotel, so if they move it, there are going to be some more football-related killings at the FIGC offices, I promise. :D

Inter fans are starting to sound a lot like Milan fans lately. Taking wins for granted, showing absolutely no humility whatsoever.

Yeah, this is annoying. But worry not, next year Juve and Milan will be back and stronger, and those nervous and heart-breaking moments will be back to teach some of us a lesson in humility.

Eh, now I believe in Jimmy's theory! That was bad, I feel sorry for him and Erik, I hope they make the most of us! God, if that was me, I don't know what I'd do (probably take a train to france or something.)

Prepare for it already mate, if they play this round on wednesday, then there is still a chance that derby might be played on time. Otherwise, it will be played on later time :(

They usually if a game is delayed just fit the game that was delayed some were into a midweek schedule. As long as there is a home inter game on when I am going over I can live with it. But if there's not I am going to be very very upset. I am nearing breaking point already. Lucky I haven't seen a palermo or catania fan yet today else I might have stranggled them.

Tribalfootball reported today that FIGC and CONI are saying they may either:
1. cancel the entire season, or
2. play the rest of the games without fans
What a bummer either way!
Hopefully, they'll be able to come to a better solution. But in any case, safety first!

Both aren't the best solutions.

Other clubs shouldn't be punished, I wouldn't care if they throw Catania out of the league, which is the best solution.

Anyway, it's Tribalfootball after all.

It is stupid enough to let fans bring flares in --- Least such crap won't happen in England, Time for FIGC to set the basic safety regulations.

Matarrese: Don't panic
Sunday 4 February, 2007
Lega Calcio chief Antonio Matarrese has warned against a snap decision in the wake of the Sicilian riots.
All football activity in the peninsula was suspended with immediate effect after a police officer was killed in a battle with Catania fans on Friday evening, but it’s rumoured that if the campaign does resume, it will be behind closed doors for two weeks - or even for the rest of the season.

“This pause for thought has been very useful and I shared FIGC Commissioner Luca Pancalli’s important decision. I made the same choice in 1995 when Vincenzo Spagnolo was killed before Genoa-Milan,” said Matarrese, who was head of the Federation the last time calcio was halted.

“But we mustn’t throw the baby out with the bath water. I cannot imagine a country that bends down to accommodate criminals. We can’t show such weakness.

“I don’t appreciate those who say this season should end here, or that we should play in empty stadiums. It would mean destroying an immense and gratifying sport. Everyone should take the opportunity to calm down and stop panicking.”

The Lega Calcio was already engaged in a battle with the FIGC to elect the next President of the Federation and Matarrese took this chance to push for a place at the meeting with Government officials set for this afternoon.

“I ask Commissioner Pancalli to remember that we, the motor behind Italian football, cannot sit inert while decisions are made for us. We want to be part of the process and contribute to the choices made.”

Nonetheless, the representative of the ‘union’ of Serie A and B clubs did confess that the Legge Pisanu recommendations have not been implemented – such as CCTV networks, club-organised stewards and security checks.

“I agree that perhaps we didn’t entirely respect the new laws due to a series of issues, such as the lack of funds from the local councils. We realise that we have to implement these rulings in full. At this point, though, we are starting to understand that our financial resources are not enough to cover these costs.”

Matarrese also pointed the finger at the constant media debate over refereeing errors and rivalry that further intensified the hooligan element in stadiums.

“We recognise we have made stupid mistakes and some Presidents used the wrong tone in their comments that further inflamed popular feeling around the teams. I feel ashamed about that. But now to throw away everything good about this sport strikes me as irresponsible. Stadiums cannot be closed, as football must win back its role at the centre of this country.”

Thank you Matarrese you have calmed me down for a while.

On the flares. They aren't actually allowed to go in. As far as I know they are banned but the people responsible for the checks let them in.

04 02 2007

Encouraging words from Matarrese, cancelling the whole season or playing rest of the games for empty stands shouldn't be options.

If the only restart on the 18 that means if I read the schedule correct that inter vs udinese is the game on 11 march. That means I can still see a home inter game not the derby but better than nothing. Still not happy.:frustrat:

Stefan, I don't think they'll modify the schedule by pushing it.

I see the choice of playing the rest of the season behind closed doors a larger threat...
