honestly i'm disappointed with the show today. been waiting desperately the entire week for this game and what i get to see is a fucking disgraceful show without determination and no spirit.

then again, 3 points is the best outcome of the game, but against a fucking Palermo who fights for relegation zone and also Miccoli was not available for this game, that was another plus for us, but we still struggled like fuck and looked like headless chicken without a plan... whatever

Ma cosi cosi.

Stramaccioni said
"Milito was exhausted today, Palacio's been playing every game,
so... Either way we conceded very little aside from one effort from Ilicic.
My forward line was under too much pressure from their back 5 today,
Palermo leave very little space when they get everyone behind the ball.
Guarin gave me another option, he keeps the ball
and as soon as he came on we overloaded them on the right, along with Nagatomo."

He said that.
He had a plan. And he won the bet.
I know your anger. But we have to trust him.
Because he is the commander now.

This, I always wonder if the say "tactican fans" preferes a game like this or a game like Manu's yday, 4-3 in the first half.
At the end we watch football to enjoy it, and I can't really see how anyone can enjoy such a boring game. Ofc I'll keep watching every game of Inter and it doesn't matter, but I can't really enjoy watching other teams in this league. Meh I don't get it anyway, the Italians are much more talented than the English players in general, and atleast 80% of the English ppl will agree with it, so much potential to see the best football in the world yet so little taken from it. Also, most of the teams spend alot and I think the bottom half spends just as much as in EPL and SPL, if not more but I am not sure about it. The stupid tax system in italy also fucks the football there. I wish they will change one day.

No, I enjoyed this game. Personally, this game had everything for me, close to perfect except some flaws.
+Clean sheet, this is the most important part for Inter
+No defensive blunder
+Decent attack
+Spot on substitution
+Transition from older to younger generation

I know our attack is shitty, but that's because we don't have Iniesta-Xavi-Messi, Arteta-Cazorla-Wilshire or Borja-Jovetic-Pizzaro. We only have makeshift central midfielder who has spent his entire career as defensive midfielder and other worker midfielders. Then, why would Inter play like them ? 1-0 is the best score.
If it is come to Inter, I would have 1-0 trollwin like today rather than 3-2 goalfest. 2 most succesful era for Inter come from defensive mindset and such tradition must be continued as long as possible. I would be glad to see another 5 seasons or more with Stramaccioni if he keeps doing this scheme and having trophies.

Yes, I am serious.

Who art thou kidding Irequis.

It's one thing to enjoy a defensive minded game where two teams take patience and skill to carve out chances. But come on...it's almost how many games in a row now where we can't even create many CLEAR CUT chances. It's fucking embarrassing.

Go look what's happened to the teams we drew at home and lost to away. They've been shithouse. Atalanta, Caglairi etc.

I'm disappointed and let down.

Yes, I am serious.

1.Just to clarify my point, I always enjoyed the old counter attacking style Inter, but this team is nowhere close to what I used to see. Ofc there are bad times, but I don't remember us having such awful forward and midfield for over 3 years. Maybe the older fans do (fan since 2000).

2.I agree that a clean sheet is the first and most important, but it has nothing to do with my enjoyment. I am the happiest man alive that we won, especially with a clean sheet, but I can't genuinely say that I enjoy watching Inter of last seasons (Ofc there are some exceptional games like in every other team)

3.I agree. Decent attack, but that is not capable of creating thier own chances most of the time, so we must have some good passers to create chances for them.
And without Cassano, our attack looks awful, barely can't create any chances against mid-table teams.

4.You don't need any of these players you mentioned to have a decent midfield. There are plenty better midfielders in the serie a (for example) that cost less than 10% of what we spend in every pre-season marcet. Yet, we don't sign any, and it has been like this for over 3 years.

5.1-0 is never the best score, especially when your defense is shaky. You can't rely on such scores with such defensive and attack ability, we've seen it after Ranieri's troll win run, and we see it now. 1-0 or 3-2 is the same thing, you can win titles either way. If you enjoy watcing troll 1-0 wins with a few shots on target, then that's your own opinion. But It can never be better than a deserved, 1-0 or 2-1 win that could easily turn to 5-2 or 5-3. Because when you're capable of scoring more goals than you'll concede in each game, eventually, you'll not only be the better team on paper but also in the table. Once again, there are exceptionals, not always the better team wins the title. But in league seasons, in the long run, the better team wins the championship MOST of the time.

6.Indeed, our 2 most succesful eras came from defensive mindest, but also good midfield and forward, much better than what we've seen in last seasons, that's for sure.
Also, what has happend in the past belongs to the past, and the books only. The modern football is diff, and apparently, It's harder to stay on top in the long this way.
Teams who pretty much troll win the biggest titles, will NOT stay on top in the long run. There are miracles, but they don't happen constantly.

7.And lastly, I really can't see us winning anything this way. I don't mind Strama as a coach, but we must start working on our midfield and forward that goes from non-existent to dieing.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I'll just say that's my own opinion and just because I think I'm right, it doesn't mean that I am.
Have a good day.

Indeed, just like I said, we can barely create any chances when we have such mediocre midfield (or maybe team in general but I won't go that far), especially against counter-attacking teams like us. The only reason is because we need an open-game to create our chances, and no small team in Italy will come to our home to play attacking football.

Oh and I am glad we're talking about this after winning, especially after winning, because everyone complains@complainers after losing.
lastly, inb4some1 saying we've not had good midfield when we won titles either, then that's because we have had world class forwards who were capable of playing in the midfield too, and creating chances not only for themselves, but also to thier teamates. Milito & Palacio are nowhere close to that nowadays. Cassano is the closest player we have to that but he isn't showing up for every game, even when he can play.

I missed the game but from what I've read it seems we played a bland game. We won though, so thumbs-up for the 3 points.

Some complaining about our style is getting boring, I don't like it myself but I certainly wasn't expecting us to become Barca this season.

Could someone give me an honest opinion on how Cou and Juan played ? These are the players/type of players I care about most, I already know what to expect from the rest.

What is 'our style' though? From what I've seen, we don't really have one. Lots of long balls from the defense hoping for our strikers to do the rest. Works occasionally when our strikers are in form, but when they're not we're pretty much screwed. Unless of course the other team wants to do the scoring for us like today. When we get our midfield involved we seem to pass the ball around aimlessly until we lose it. Having a focal point in midfield that can make the not-so-simple passes and be relied upon to do so under pressure could do wonders for us, but that's more of a personnel issue than playing style. But anyway, I don't think anyone expected us to play like Barca, but we should be seeing improvement in our play and a bit more cohesion when in possession of the ball. We're not really seeing that, and that's the disappointing thing.

Coutinho showed some flashes, but that's nothing new. Some good moves usually followed by losing the ball or not being able to make the final pass. Of course Milito and, to a lesser extent, Palacio were MIA so he didn't really have much to work with. And that midfield :yao:

Juan was pretty good I thought. No Biabiany out there to terrorize him. The whole back line in general looked very solid and wasn't really troubled much.

Even though it was a bit bland, we did shut down and suffocate Palermo for most of the game, though Milito, Palacio and Coutinho couldn't make anything happen. Zanetti and Pereira were not much use on the wing either (surprise surprise)

Juan was really good. Coutinho couldn't find space for himself and when he did get involved he would often slow down the counter-attack or lose the ball. Though as Vas said he did have some impressive flashes.

No style is our style :D

But seriously, if our defence was solid and coped very well then I'm satisfied. It's clear as day there is a tonne of work needed to be playing at a level (or a style) we want to see. It's not easy to 'fix' everything at once, but if we are chipping away and tackling each element of what needs fixing, then that's fine. For me, it was the defence that needed the the most work (from last season).

With our midfield, it just seems that we are so overly cautious of conceding. And naturally, by having a midfield like the one Strama lines up, we are gonna see an unattractive and dull type of play. I can accept this to a certain point because my expectation is not 'I want a treble'.

Hopefully we keep seeing more of Cou, and Juan keeps it up. Juan was the player I most wanted to see step in and become a regular.
