Our strikers were like limp dicks in a brothel tonight.

We had so much of the ball , clearly failed to do anything with it.

Our counter attacks are embarrassing. The players just fumble the ball and stop running and then pass it back. This has been a problem for years now.
Notice how when we took out Hakan and Dimarco our attack completely died.
Inzaghi is a clown for putting arnautovic, a guy who's done absolutely nothing in this shirt, in for the last 10 min of the game that will probably decide the scudetto.
Dumfries is a complete retard of a football player.
Inter played the last 10 min of that match as if they were up 10 pts in the table and a goal in the match.
Frustrating.
This game will decide nothing. Look at the table. It just starting.

not mad about Calhanoglu missed PK; had to happen & his goal was stunning

problem is we're just toothless in attack at the moment
someone commented here earlier that Thuram and Lautaro instead of serving each other are being a bit more selfish and trying to carve out chances for themselves; I agree with that probably because they're on a scoring drought & overthinking it

team looked more solid at the back, I think they got more confidence after the Arsenal game; im sure the attack will come back in due time

Busy schedule is over, 7 wins and 2 draws, someone may say that is is a great result but I'm not happy at all.

Must have easy been 7 out of 7 if your attack used 2-3 chances out of all they had.

I feel bad for Hakan, because I'm sure he feels guilt about missing that penalty, but besides the fact that it was his golazo that even got it back to 1-1 to begin with, the guy had converted his last 19 penalties in a row. A miss was going to happen eventually, and obviously we would've preferred for it to happen with a 3-0 lead and be inconsequential, but so it goes. Furthermore, I think we've all seen enough penalty kicks in this sport in our lives, there are misses where the taker just has the most limp dick pathetic shot and looks like they have no business taking it, and there are misses where either the GK makes a fantastic save or the shot was taken well and the placement just narrowly fails you. Hakan's kick was taken with confidence, and Meret guessed to the correct side anyway. It was angled towards the corner, unfortunate that it knicked the post although Meret probably keeps it out otherwise. It's the kind of penalty miss that I can live with. My faith in Hakan isn't the least bit shaken. Jorginho is (or, at least, was at one point) the best PK taker in the world, and even he was stopped with a chance to win the Euros before; it happens.

Nearly screamed my head off that the passing lane for Kvara right in the box wasn't blocked on that last sequence. Our defending in these final moments of games seems to lose attention recently, we got lucky a week ago with Venezia and the goal being (rightly) disallowed, now Kvara was inches away from winning the game when that ball had no business getting into him, no excuse to leave that kind of passing lane available.

Thuram was almost invisible and, given some of the chances Lautaro spurned, I can only wish he'd been invisible too.

All in all, not the worst result, Napoli's obviously been very good so far this season, but disappointing to drop two points in another home game vs. a Scudetto chaser. We've played all the top Scudetto chasers at home in the first half, so we're gonna have to go to some away grounds in the second half and get wins which won't be easy. Obviously we'll see what the table looks like by then.

Inter's forwards are clearly going through a bit of crisis - Still, If we had to chose a time-period where they are 'off form', this would be the right time. When the season starts to heat up, surely they will be out of this slump....??.......? ?

Who would you sell to get new players? Lautaro or Thuram?

I would love to have David, Lookman, Taremi and one of Thuram or Lautaro :)

Lookman?? Nice joke my friend. Our shitty owners wouldnt give us a money to buy Solbakken from Empoli, thats how we are miserable.

Conte was complaining for the penalty after the match. A bit rich coming from him after the penalty he got against Empoli.

I am disappointed with all of the results against out rivals. The match against Milan was a farce. We gifted a point to Juventus and lost two in the process and did the same against Napoli. I can not stomach any of the results and feel this team and their efforts thus far are thereabouts but they will ultimately fall short because they cannot put teams to the sword or hold a result.

We are satisfied with our current forwards.
As for next season, we may yet keep Correa and/or Arnautobitch. After all, they would be like free signings.

Well I was not impressed with Napoli at all which was one of the positives to come out of last night. Very Conte like and very dull; I can imagine that their fans will be on his back very quickly if there is any bad run of results. Buongiorno was the exception, what a fine player he looks and it's just frustrating that Inter's evident interest in him was unable to go nowhere. McTominay is really ordinary but his propensity of grabbing goals masks his inherent weakness as a footballer - as it did for long enough at Man United. He's Napoli's version of Frattesi.

As everyone has said the Inter attacking performance was very poor and cost us again in a game we really should have won. The season stats bear this out: Inter are 2nd to Atalanta in XG created but have only actually scored 0.59 above that figure which is only 10th in the League in terms of efficiency. I've never really thought that Thuram and Martinez are a great partnership and that can get overlooked because both of them are good enough individually to still score against the sort of lower standard defences they come up against. But they do little in the Champions League or against well-organised defences like Napoli as they don't really offer enough variety (or form at the moment). Even in the unusually random game against Juventus the goals came from elsewhere.

Thuram's uneven control, especially when receiving the ball with his back to goal, is particularly trying. A ball will be played in to him and he'll end up dropping back 10 or 15 yards to try and get the thing under control. If only we had seen a bit more attacking thrust from Taremi then the solution would be surely him plus one of the other two.

No real surprise that Conte managed to keep Thuram/Martinez quiet. A good game and prob a fair result.

I thought we played good yesterday, can’t fault the team. Sure the strikers underperformed but overall can’t complain too much. Napoli stylistically aren’t a good matchup at all for us because their strengths are their CB’s and they can match us in midfield. We just don’t have the capabilities to trouble their full backs who defensively are their weakest points.

Having all 4 title rivals away from home in the second half of the season won’t be easy but in a way I feel like we are more dangerous away from home as the games are more open.

Speaking about title rivals I think Atalanta are the most complete team. They have incredible squad depth + Scalvini and Scammaca to add once they come back from injuries. Napoli have a good core but overall aren’t that good. Add the Conte factor however and they will be instant contenders.

Juve I’m not worried about at all. With Bremer out + no back up to Vlahovic I don’t see them sustaining the pace. I’m more worried about Milan than them. If it clicks for them they could be very dangerous but as we’ve seen it’s a big if. Plus they’ve probably thrown away too many points already.

With us I can’t help but feel a bit concerned if it comes down to a straight shoot out between Inzaghi vs Conte or even Inzaghi vs Gasperini. Last season we won but there was no title race. We know what happened in 2022 when there was a title race…..

Milan are crap. They'll be lucky to get top 4!
I'd expect Napoli to last through the season due to Conte's iron-will.
Still think we'll win the Scudetto tho.

Seriously?? I don't understand the controversy around that penalty - if it was for not calling obvious handballs, then yes. But this??
