This is the sort of week you like in which you have successive games against teams which just self-implode, meaning by the second-half the fixture resembles more a training match. That stress-free game last night was perfect preparation for Sunday, certainly a loss less stressy than what I am assuming Milan put themselves through in Zagreb.
While Lautaro's performances are definitely improving recently, that was the softest of hat-tricks last night. He hit that penalty as if he had been plucked out the crowd to take it: please, never let him take any more in the future! I don't like to be churlish but I'd agree it was another game in which we had a lot of pressure but not nearly enough clear chances to reflect this. Same old story in these games with promising positions let down with poor final balls to players making the wrong runs. The Inter attack feels weirdly uncoached when compared to the defence and midfield, it's as if they're just allowed to get on with it and improvise as they go.
A successful group stage though thanks to the defence and I think that's our best hope for progress in the competition - stop other teams scoring and hope we can grab something at the other end.
