Didn't Chivu already got owned by CR7 in the 7-1?

He got owned by Alan Smith that day (and i don't think the guy has scored since). Panucci was the one that got owned by Ronaldo.

Chivu was at fault for 3 of the goals in that game, Doni for another 3.

Probably the worst performances both of them ever have had.

A bit cliche but it all depends on the first leg at home we stuff that up might as well not show up OT. We have to come out and attack at home try win the game, for this to happen we need Ibra to finally front up in the big games and also Adriano, Figo, Stan and Maicon to play out of their skins. But I have a feeling Mourinho is simply going to try not to concede at home and then hope we score some miracle away goal at OT and then defend for our lives.

I'm cautiously optomistic but we have barely shown any signs of improvement in the last few games. AT least Man Utd have shown they are human as well against Everton they were well below par but they will no doubt bring their A game for us.

I go through cycles... extremely optimistic, then solemnly hopeful, then absolutely terrified, and repeat the cycle several times a day. Why did we have to start discussing the game so early! I can't wait for February 24th to come. Any outcome is possible, we could win convincingly... but I just hope we don't get a thrashing!

I believe too that Mourinho will start very defensively first. We can't concede at home and he knows that. The thing is, we have to score and that will be a very hard thing to do, Mourinho will probably count on long balls to Zlatan-Adriano and hope they can make it happen. All guns blazing tactic will backfire surely since ManU have good offensively skill up front, they can punish us at the break.

We have to score first match and take advantage of Vidic's absence. Meanwhile holding a clean sheet is as important.

Exactly. I totally agree. We need to score and keep a clean sheet while Vidic is gone because Ferguson will definitely take on his super defensive tactics and Vidic will only improve those tactic.

btw it wasn't Panucci that got owned by Ronaldo, because Panucci plays right back Ronaldo is a right wing, so the left defender would go against Ronaldo. So Maxwell or Chivu would, hopefully not Santon, he's too young.

We need to win like 3-0 at home to have a chance in the return game.

And considering we struggle to even score a single goal against the likes of Cagliari, Atalanta and Torino i have a hard time seeing that happen.

2-0 would be an ideal result IMO, and is doable, but we'd need to play an almost perfect game. That would set us up nicely for the return, and i do have faith in our defence.

Your reasoning isn't brilliant. League form isn't the best indicator of what will happen in the CL, and every match has different circumstances.

They almost have the near perfect team Il Muro and tbh, I can't see us keeping a clean sheet at the San Siro.

Right back is a weakness, whoever plays. Evans is still inexperienced at this level. Let's see how he handles Zlatan and Adriano. Ronaldo hasn't quite hit the form of last season, and Rooney - Berbatov havn't quite hit it off as a partnership. Certainly they are a great side, but they are beatable. Man Utd play very defensive away from home. I have faith that our defence can stop their counterattacks.

They are definitely not near a perfect team sorry, they have good chemistry but no, sorry.

I say our defense must have power and speed alike, my preference would be Matrix and Samuel, unless Cordoba decides to play good, Chivu is too slow to play against Ronaldo so Maxwell, he might not be able to deal with him alone but will be able to put on the pressure, right back is a given.

Il Muro is for real, their right backs aren't very good, I don't give Neville much credit at all, Evans is pretty inexperienced, that leaves Ferdinand and Evra considering he's healthy at the time.

I think our midfield is better we just can't let them tire us out with their passing game.

We have a good chance, if we keep the pressure on their defense we should be ok, with Adriano, Zlatan, Stankovic and Maicon on the attack we have a pretty good chance of scoring.

Let's just hope Julio Ceasar doesn't spill stupid shots like in the Werder Bremen game, they never should've scored.

Walter Samuel,
@ Energy

I would go for Samuel - Cordoba if everyone is fit. I know Cordoba has been making alot of mistakes lately, but we need his speed and man marking abilities against Rooney. Samuel - Materazzi is too similar, and both lack pace which Man Utd could easily expose.

You bring up a good point.

Whoever posted to have

zanetti-viera-cambiasso

-------stankovic-------

as our midfield I agree, that way Cambiasso can help with the Ronaldo man marking, and if Ronaldo does drift to the left he'll be owned by Zanetti and Maicon.

Yep plus Cambiasso is left footed, so it makes sense to put him on the left. Vieira's passing is also quite astute, which is something that Muntari lacks. We just have to hope Vieira gets match fit in the next few weeks.

Can't wait for this game. So many of my friends are Manure fans and are dismissing Inter's chances already. Hope Inter can play at their best and win.

I've watched most Manure games lately, they haven't played that great, only really vs Chelsea and West Brom were they at their best. Still grinding out results though. They are a better team than Inter and Inter will have to play the best they've played all season to get through.

Manure's defence is top notch, vidic is prob best in the world right now. Their midfield is probably their weakest aspect, yet it still boasts some quality players. Inter will have to dominate them in midfield to stand a chance, if their midfield clicks on the night expect them to win.

I just hope Mourinho won't repeat Mancini's fault.
ManU has even more divers in the team than Liverpool, including Princess Diver Ronaldo and his friend Rooney.
Having Materazzi or Burdisso on the pitch with their reputation would only bring us redcards/penalties.
