sounds like someone is offended...

the entire team (bar ibra, yaya, and to some extent, keita) goes down very easily...from puyol, to pique, to iniesta e.t.c.

and i watch barca regularly enough and i know how they play....you are a barca fan, so it is obvious you would try to defend them

you cannot convince me otherwise, so please do not try.....i know exactly what they do on defense

wrong. as FCBarca said, it's only Busquets and Dani, maybe Puyol too.

and clearly you dont watch Barca regularly enough to know how they play.

I love this tho:

It's such a cute, tentative little dive. Poor Xavi.

how often do you see Xavi diving? the defender pulled Xavi's shirt which resulted in him losing his balance and go to the ground (rather easily) and the ref pointed to the spot, Xavi wont go to the ref and tell him not to give his team a penalty against one of our main rivals who always play dirty football and try to injure us. Definitely a contact and something the defender shouldnt do, maybe Xavi fell easily but a foul is a foul. Also note that Xavi didnt ask for a penalty, he didnt even look at the ref. the man lost balance because of a shirt pull and the ref made the right decision.

Javier Zanetti,
Danial Alves is a player i really hate, everytime i see him on the pitch it just pisses me of, and he is overrated as well in terms of his perfromances.

Busquets recently also goes down every chance he can, in the Arsenal match he takes the medal though, there was one dive i mean he just wanted a trophy for it or something, it was absurd to see that.

Inter dont dive as much as people say, in recent years i can recall Cruz, Balotelli and Materazzi are the most who can go down easy but other than that there isnt really.

Stankovic dived against Bologna in the penalty box, and it was a good one :D

Rofl. There was actually no contact in there at all. He just fell on the ground. You see what you want to see.

Lol the penalty earned by Xavi shouldnt even be on a debate, it was as minimal a contact can be, and they, Espanyol was robbed..

uhm what's so special about this "dive"? Is this scene against espanyol so relevant for our match of the season against Barca?

Stankovic too. And so does Eto'o and Maicon etc etc.

I think his point is, Barcelona players are only ever praised for their beautiful football play, and that people seem to think they are incapable of the "dirty" side of football, niggling fouls, shirt pulling, diving etc.

I love this tho:

And Barca's fans are in Ronaldo's dick every single minute . Anyway, Dani Alves is the best diver I've ever seen, better than Drogba by the way :D

Hello everybody. My first post on this forum.. hope we can discuss a bit about this great tie. Cant wait!

It's not superpowers.. what happened this year is that guardiola changed messi's position in barça's formation. He plays in the middle now, behind the CF and with total freedom to move around.. and since this change he's scoring like hell.

That means that the formation is a bit different from the typicall 4-3-3.. and it's a kind of freestyle 4-2-3-1, because players shift positions during the game.
It could be something like:

..............................Valdes.............................
Alves...........Pique.................Puyol............Abidal
.....................Xavi............Toure.....................
Pedro......................Messi................Iniesta.....
.............................Zlatan.............................

Barcelona plays beutifull football because we have Iniesta and Messi that can do magic with the ball. We have Xavi who has like 95%+ completed passes during a game. We have DM's that are better playmakers that almost any teams main playmaker. We almost never kick out the ball to the stands, we always try to pass the ball to avaid to lose possesion. We usually have over 60-70% possesion and always attack.
But of course there are some small dives and shirt pullings now and than. All Cules agree with that and it's not something we deny. Read a Barcelona forum and you will hear comments like "if Busquets wasn't on our team I would hate his guts" and "Alves is such a drama queen - get up already, you didn't get your leg amputated". Sometimes our players even take a yellow card to stop what would be a dangerous counter attack. But guess what, it's a part of the game and it's not like we do it systematically - and we never claimed we never foul.
But what I don't understand is why some of you bring this up? I've seen Milito dive 100 times a match. Materazzi is not really known for his fair play, I've seen Lucio make late and headless tackles that could injure players, Stankovic also goes down very easy sometimes - and so on.

What i hate about Barca, is not really their diving, since we are doing the same..

But the fact refs are protecting their player A LOT... I've noticed that when any Barca player starts to dribble, every singe contact, even the smallest one is a foul. Something that in Italy or England is just guarding space.. That's i hate most, i understand they are quality players and need to be protected, but it's too much of it.

Quite rare from Xavi to do that in a game, i will be so pissed off if this game is decided by something like that. Even if it results in an Inter win, i want us to prove we can win.

p.s LOL @ them commentators, ones an american ones a jordie... where on earth did they get this partnership from

i see we have a lot of 'closet' Barca fans from within the Inter camp.....lmao

what i said was pretty clear and it is pretty obvious for anybody who watches a Barca game properly (and are not just watching with their jaw dropped in awe of their technical brilliance)

the discussion started when someone mentioned that the biggest issue with this tie is going to be with the refs; and i 100% agreed

then somebody said that if Inter "concentrate enough, we will not give away fouls"

to me, that was funny because from WATCHING BARCA PLAY, almost the entire Barca team (minus Yaya, Ibra, Keita) are a bunch of pansies who GO DOWN ON THE SLIGHTEST CONTACT, whether it be little nudges, shirt pulling, and such, which is the norm in football

yet ironically, the STRONGEST part of barca's game is their high pressure defense, which primarily uses little nudges, little kicks, and shirt pulling to off-balance opponents to win back the ball

if you do not agree with that assessment, then fine

just watch barca play Real this weekend with a keen eye....

and just an fyi, going down on light contact is NOT DIVING; diving is when there is no contact at all (like what Milito and Deki tried; like the Xavi video above)

What i hate about Barca, is not really their diving, since we are doing the same..

thank you

well said and I think that issue is going to be key to this tie. We have a far greater chance of winning if the refs keep the whistle down and allow us to play physical but if they start calling all these little fouls and throwing out weak bookings its not going to bode well for us.

exactly. the more ref stop the play, the more they fail to get their rhytm. just like roma doing against us

I won't say there are many closet Barca fans. Its just that Barca is a club that are difficult to hate. Most neutrals would support them. You can attribute it to their beautiful football, focus on own academy, presence of likeable players like Messi or whatever. Fact is Barca are among the most loved clubs. That doesn't make others closet fans.

And people are not as hypocritical as you make them out to be. Fans are frank enough to accept that Milito goes down too easily, or Balotelli behaves like a pussy or others. We should be happy that we can accept the shortcomings of our players.

i called them "closet" fans because of how quickly they ran to the defend barca in the face of a negative comment

when folks are here running to ibra/balotelli/pandev/eto'o's defense no matter what they do, don't we call them a ibra/balotelli/pandev/eto'o fanboy?

how is this relevant to my post?

personally i think the key is the ref...if he won't whistle each contact then we stand a chance...i just hope it won't be the same as in the arsenal 1st half...everything was foul for barca...each and every contact ffs
