Did you read his statement?Arteta wasn't near a crybaby as Xavi was that night though lol
Many many ugly and even lucky wins in those two years of Conte, in all competitions. Only big win in CL was against Dortmund in Meazza. We couldnt even get one point playing at home vs basically Barca B team. So Conte guy comes here and bashes Inzaghi cause he managed to beat, with no ease, alongside City, toughest oponnent in group phase we got to play, while starting without 6 starters. There is nothing more to add. Just wait and see what will happen if we lose to Napoli. Not the same since we were also a top2 scoring side in both Conte seasons, which some of you keep forgetting. Maybe the football was rigid, but the game results looked a lot better than just grinding 1-0 wins.
CL under Conte..well that is a different story
Thoughts from having been at the stadium:
- In the pre-match warm-up, most of our players were shooting against Di Gennaro in goal from the edge of the box. I shit you not, less than a quarter of the shots were even on target.
- Having two right-footed players defend our left flank was, in hindsight, a masterstroke. With Ødegaard out, Saka is Arsenal's only creative threat, and being left-footed, he wants to cut in, so he was facing our defenders' strong foot. Sure, it meant the left flank was non-existent offensively, and we saw that when Bisseck had that run forward and tried to cut in and lost the ball. A left-footed defender would have probably shot at goal (and failed to hit the target).
- I don't know how visible it was on TV, but for each of Arsenal's 100 corners, Raya was really far up. In some cases, beyond the halfway line. I was hoping for a Dimarco-Frosinone bis, but we seemed uninterested in that.
- The pitch, as always, is a disgrace.
Listen to the commentator, FUCKING SHIT how bias can they get, it was so clear the ball hit Sommer's hands and bounced up, it is just physics (like Federer once said), look at how the ball spins; how fucking retarded are they. He's referring to this.
Of course it's no penalty because Sommer actually hits the ball.

Now you know why I can't stand English commentors...Listen to the commentator, FUCKING SHIT how bias can they get, it was so clear the ball hit Sommer's hands and bounced up, it is just physics (like Federer once said), look at how the ball spins; how fucking retarded are they.
Catenaccio is the most beautiful thing, when you win the match and the only thing you see is the final result and not the actual match. There will always be people who doesnt understand the beauty of Catenaccio, to me this type of defending brings a tear to my eye, its fucking perfection.
does this rule applies with the coach ?Didn't notice that (Sommer's punch). Fwiw Arteta could've get a red for interfering with play while the ball was on the field.

This is not true. Arsenal had 53% possession to our 47% in the first half. We controlled the game more in the first 15-20mins, after that it was mostly Arsenal on the ball (2nd half was 29-71% possession stat to Arsenal).I was disappointed with the approach but understood it, considering Napoli has a whole week to recover and prepare for the game on the weekend. It was disappointing because I felt like this team could go out there and just squash Arsenal 3-0 in a statement win if they could be fucked.
It is important to note that we were dominating possession in the first half (I clearly remember it being at 60% at some stage) before giving up the ball completely after the goal. In that respect, the defensive performance was great despite Arsenal being fairly impotent in attack. When you give up the ball like that, it's hard to get out of that situation. At the end of the day, I think everyone came away with the feeling that the squad has conserved energy and grabbed an important 3 points, which is just an excellent result. Hopefully it bears fruit on the weekend.
Having said all of this, I never want to watch or speak of this game again. I'm deleting it from memory.

I have to say I doubt the guys playing 90 mins felt they had conserved any energy (looking at De Vrij, Dumfries, Bisseck, Darmian, Pavard). That kind of defending consumes a lot of energy.
They are crying about Inter not creating anything other than the penalty where Dumfries' shot and Lautaro's was probably the closest to anyone getting to scoring apart from the PK.This is not true. Sorry mate, I was at a gig earlier and just re-read the second part of your post. I was obviously referring to the players being rested, when talking about energy conservation. As you blokes mentioned on the podcast, it'll be Darmian/Dimarco on the flanks for Napoli. This is not true. Arsenal had 53% possession to our 47% in the first half.
