Really good game in both offense and defense, if he keeps this up it's gonna be tough for anyone to take his spot in the starting XI, hope Inzaghi keeps him fresh and doesn't overuse him throughout the season

I don't see Zielinski replicating a lot of the ball carrying that Mkhitaryan does. He can slot in there, but he's gonna be a different type of player. Just like Frattesi basically isn't to be trusted with carrying the ball and we need to play with one of our midfielders as an off-the-ball kind of player, Zielinski on the other hand is ball heavy, recycle possession and distribute out wide. And shoot, he can also shoot.

In that sense, it'll be hard to see Inzaghi shifting from a winning formula to something that would mix things up, even if Zielinski is a superior player to Mkhitaryan.

Zielinski has not been the player he was a few years back and it remains to be seen if he can return to that. If he can he is probably better fit for Hakan or Barella role then the ball carrier of Miki. There really isn’t any who can what Miki can the closest is actually Asllani why Inzaghi can’t see it bugger the hell out of me, he surely is a worse solution as Regista then slotting Zielinski in there for sure hopefully Inzaghi realises this rather sooner then later? Unfortunately he is incredibly thick headed.

Actually Frattesi is good in carrying the ball, but he lacks position awareness and passing of Mkhitaryan.
Mkhitaryan is really poor in the final third, which is kind a normal considering his age. He compensates in other areas, but for the next season we will need a new player for his spot. Also, if Frattesi cannot find his position this season, we shall sell him. No point to waste him on the bench anymore, as he is not cheap back up.

Pretty useless when you lack position awareness, ball handling technique, passing technique and vision to the level that is needed… Frattesi is a sub level player not cut for anything beyond the bench.

I personally don’t mind him staying for his impact ability but only if he can accept and live with that role.

There is a difference between positivity and ass kissing.
There is a difference to be objective and just load on the guy. But Inzaghi does not give a fuck about you opinion.

Running with the ball and carrying the ball are completely different tasks.
Frattesi cannot carry the ball in our current system, he can only be used as an off-the-ball poacher kind of midfielder, which reduces the purpose of having a strong midfield like ours where the three players can interchange and supplement each other around the pitch.

He’s still good, but I don’t see how much longer he can stay as the undisputed starter when he has Frattesi and Zielinski rearing to get in there. We need more goals from his position to justify him being there and there are some signs of decline in his attacking efficacy.

I actually wouldn’t mind trying to groom Carboni for this role one day. I think he’s got the skill set and work rate for it.

I don't think we need goals from that position. We are scoring pretty damn well despite LCM not scoring for us.

He’s playing more advanced these days tho with Barella dropping a bit deeper. I agree it’s not really a problem if others are scoring but I’d like still a little bit more of a direct threat for what is essentially an attacking mid position in our setup.

I think with me and Dave it all started when I said there is no way mkhi is a WC player as of today in the transfer threads, it didn't even require to really shit on Mkhi.

Funniest part, is I actually appreciate what Mkhi is doing, but I think he doesn't have it to contest with top teams, like A.Madrid last year and we really need a long term solution. Also the overusing and all the known problems, that the majority on FIF agree anyway.

P.S. obviously he just goes after anyone who comments on Mhki not in a positive way.

I'm tempted to post on Reddit how Miki is trash just to see if I can make Dave rage quit the internet entirely 👀
That would be super funny, if someone on Reddit go ballistic on you after that, you will know that is Dave.

Not sure what this even means. So if we have a chance to score from that position and we fuck it up you say it's ok, we score from another position?! We won't always get the chance to make up for our missed chances.

So far yes, we haven't been missing Mkhitaryan's goals because we've been scoring pretty well for over an year now.

Mkhitaryan brings other qualities to our game.

This whole thread is silly. He is an older player who because of his work ethic and the qualities he brings to the pitch is starting. I don't understand people crapping on him and I also don't understand the fan boyism. Obviously he brings more positive than negative to the team and that's why he plays. There are lots of choices Limone makes that I don't agree with but you can't argue with results. If anyone here thinks they can do better they should apply for the job....lol
I have watched inter games for a very long time and this version is one of the more entertaining ones to watch. Just enjoy the ride guys. Like everything else it will end one day.

Ps. I have him as my avatar, because as an old guy myself, I like to see an old dude kick ass

This i agree with so much. I actually do wonder if we had the same argument if miki was say 30 but the performances were the exact same....

Anyways for me he s a cut clear starter unless his form starts to drop drastically
